I hope this proves to be more than rumour and this case moves towards justice.
I feel so sad for the children.

The carpet/steam cleaner John hired on the day of Novy's disappearance (and before reporting her missing) - maybe it wasn't used to remove blood stains or traces of accomplishes but to remove traces of an anesthetic drug. We know that John had easy access to and knowledge of various chemicals used in his business. Maybe some of them can be used as an anesthetic drug?

Thank you for sharing this. Sad this child will have to go through one more interview but I'm pleased to see him back in court on August 24 for these recent charges (offences committed after the disappearance of Novy). Hopefully this will cast new light also on the Novy case and ensure he's locked away for quite some time. Good to know that we most likely won't see a possible serial offender and killer released on good behaviour after just few years.

RICKI-LEE Coulter’s stepfather will face court next month accused of allowing his Gold Coast Hinterland home to be used to grow hydroponic cannabis.

Police raided the unoccupied Advancetown home, owned by the pop star’s mother Loretta Sheerin and her husband John Sheerin, in November last year and allegedly discovered a dismantled hydroponic setup.

Months later the same Advancetown property was scoured by detectives, police divers and about 50 SES volunteers in relation to the disappearance of Gold Coast woman Novy Chardon. The Upper Coomera mother was last seen in February 2012 and her millionaire husband John Chardon became a suspect.

David Babbington, who is the cousin of Ms Coulter’s ex-husband Jamie Babbington, and William Loli were both charged with producing a dangerous drug.

sept 2014:

Police swoop on bikie feeder gang Southside Soldiers and seize drugs, stolen goods, weapons and cash

ONE of the Gold Coast’s most violent street gangs has been shut down by police in a dawn blitz across the southern end of the city.

An elaborate hydroponic cannabis crop believed to be linked to the gang was also shut down just as it was being harvested at Advancetown with plants more than 1.8 metres tall and weighing more than 50kg.

Sounds a bit fishy to me that police raid a property in Advancetown in September 2014 and find large quantities of "hydroponic cannabis crop".

Two months later they raid Mr and Mrs Sheerin's property and find "large amounts of hydroponic equipment, harvesting materials and tools".

Two completely unrelated events? (too many similarities to be pure coincidence in my opinion)

Maybe the first raid initiated the cleanup and shutdown of the production at Mr and Mrs Sheerin's property and the events were in fact related? Perhaps someone knew what was coming or likely to happen and already starting packing down? (just a thought). Either way: David Babbington would have known since March 2014 that he was in the spot light of the police (maybe even more so after September 2014)

Update: POLICE have revealed a search under way in bush in the Gold Coast Hinterland is related to missing woman Linda Siddon.
So sadly still no news about Novy...

Still think of this case all the time, hoping that by some miracle Novy's remains will be found and the culprit brought to justice.

The jury heard the girl, then aged 17, later signed written documents agreeing to have sex with Chardon for money before ceasing contact in 2003.
Chardon launched an appeal in April against his eventual conviction on multiple grounds.
He claimed there had been a miscarriage of justice in that the verdicts were against the weight of evidence and accused the judge of failing to direct or summarise the defence case properly to the jury.
Justice Margaret McMurdo disagreed, finding the jury were open to accept the complainant's version of events beyond reasonable doubt.
She also found the judge had "fairly placed" the defence case before them.

Excellent news but troubling to know he's eligible for parole in less than 2 years. I wonder what happened to these charges: http://m.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/n...wife-disappeared/story-fnje8bkv-1227029656620

Illegal firearms charges were also mentioned at one point: https://mobile.twitter.com/tessascott9/status/392890643262865408 (and that was before the taser gun he was caught with upon arrival to Brisbane Airport http://m.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/n...brisbane-airport/story-fnj94idh-1226847619499)
