2:25am: Sound of metallic screwing or unscrewing

2:26am: Sounds of sirens in the background

And in another report it states Warriena was hitting him with a "solid object"....but of course that's according to his defence team....

However, the Gold Coast contract carpet-layer’s defence team argues he was merely trying to protect himself from the young woman who had turned violent, slapping him and hitting him with a solid object.

Something metallic, heavy, that has "bits"that can be dismantled which could explain the sound of screwing or unscrewing - a spreader bar perhaps? This is entirely a guess but what if GT had her restrained in a spreader bar type device, and that is what she wanted him to *advertiser censored**g untie her from, and then she picked up that same metallic object which he wanted her to drop?

2.15am Tostee says I do need a sample of DNA.

Seriously does anyone say that in routine conversation, argument, frustration or even when very angry because you have been hit and slapped.

Then to have that person whose sample DNA you needed fall from your balcony after you had restricted their breathing for 78 seconds then forced, pushed or shoved them out on to your balcony and lock the door fall some 6 minutes later from when you uttered those words.

How coincidently is that?

I wonder when GT untied her; if she was serious that she needed him to do it; how long she had been tied and whether the tie restricted her movement in any important ways according to the transcript.

For example, could she walk around, pick up rocks, throw them, move free(ish)ly?

And, even more importantly to me, what was he doing to her when she was tied. Is that when he hurt her internally (2:11am in attached transcript)? I can certainly see why Rrie may have been angry with him, and fearful of not being in a situation where she had any control, if that is the case. It may have started her fear of him (which only intensified after his brutal choking and tackling) .... what he might do to her .... if he re-opened the balcony door.

10 mins after being hurt internally (then being tackled and choked) Rrie was dead. :(

(Haha ... snap, so so. Just saw your post. Exactly my thoughts too!)

5 sleeps, pinch me quick.

I'm not sure the process will be on the day.

Maybe an adjournment because the new lawyers need time to prepare.

The being tied up is a little confusing to me.
I can not imagine you would say untie me unless you were tied up drunk or otherwise.

After that there is a sound of female possibly in toilet.
She also asks can she look out the window. Why would you ask could you look out the window?

This indicates she was moving around. imo

Bbm - agree!

She did seem to be moving around afterwards according to the transcript. But she also seemed to be causing a drunken sort of ruckus prior to insisting he untie her too. So perhaps she was always free to move and only had knotted or tight items still attached to individual limb that she wanted him to take off.

Lol chuckles at the alpaca patting quips!

I have read a few transcripts it does not seem that in the conversation with his father that he made reference to R'rie being psycho or insane.

Given how many times he said that I am surprised he did not express this to his father.

I find the persistent description of 'metallic object' weird - especially by Tostee. Makes sense for reporting the unknown, but when referring to a known item in your own house, wouldn't you just call a spade a spade?

Example:

"I was struck by an unknown metallic object when mugged walking home".
-v-
"Stop hitting your brother with that... metallic object". Huh?

What is it about this 'metallic object' that might perhaps change people's perceptions if they knew what it was exactly. Would it undermine level of threat he supposedly felt? A metallic object could be a ruler for crying out loud - fear of being mocked by the brahs or the threat of it not presenting as too greater threat in eyes of average Joe? Was it an illegal item? All will be revealed I guess, but something is off.

That's a great point! Who talks like that about their own stuff?

'I just bought the most fabulous metallic object for my condo! It will look great next to the particle board clothes holder object.'

BBM And all along I'd been thinking she'd tried to defend herself with a liquid object or a kleenex. Why so vague? Just spit it out, what was it?

My guess is weights. Just can't get why he'd stop to fiddle with those while preparing to flee toward pizza. And if Warriena'd hit him with a weight or the bar, why would he stop to tidy it away in such a moment? Unless he wasn't putting the weights away at all... but maybe setting them out to make a claim of self defense look more convincing.

I believe the "mystery object" she was holding could have been a phone, which perhaps he then put in his pocket (and the claim she hit him with an object is BS..). Or -- good guess from someone upthread -- it was something she grabbed off the table, that would fit with him saying "nearby metalic object".

Maybe it was something small and relatively harmless. So maybe he needed to leave something heavier (like loose weights?) lying around to make himself look more the victim.

I think I've already expressed my doubts about her being tied up... a/ she's moving around and b/ .. well, can't discuss it, but good reason 2 goes here.

Could the screwing sound have anything to do with the fire department's visit to the apartment for a (false alarm) gas emergency?

Three fire crews were also called to the unit following reports of a gas leak, but police later confirmed that it was a false alarm.

There is something very sus about that false alarm gas leak, wish I knew what it was.

Setting out to make a claim of self defence very possible imo.

IMO the conversation with his father (having had ample enough time to listen to the significant parts of his recording) indicates to me he wants it to be known that they had sex in bed and then he tackled her in the middle of the apartment. But that does not mean it happened that way does it?

Tostee - Dad like what happened was we were drinking we got into bed together then after that she just kept like I don't know she was just beating me up. She thought it was funny or something and I was just like tackling her in the middle of my apartment and I said it wasn't funny anymore blah... blah... blah...
He said "its not funny anymore" lol ....

If the struggle took place 2-3mtrs from glass doors & 10mtrs from front door, I personally wouldn’t choose the glass exit option – especially if the person ‘attacking’ me knew martial arts. I’d be worried about risk of broken glass doors (no matter how thick they look) & also entering an open outdoor area at great height. But then, there’s also a glass coffee table & tv in path of opposite direction. A broken glass coffee table I could deal with, but late night smashed balcony doors is a bigger deal. You could expect someone to call Police (or alert the 'building security' (???) he mentions in the link) if they’d also heard the fighting previously. Additionally, there’d be problems for you as tenant for property damage and/or disturbance complaints. He seemed pretty chuffed with his apartment, so I imagine he would’ve liked to continue living there.

How was he so sure she wouldn’t scream out to neighbours to call Police if he was just putting her out there to calm down? He’d just been choking her, she’d repeatedly said the word “murder!” AND had already threatened to call Police on him once earlier before things turned really ugly.

IMO putting her on the balcony doesn’t seem the best possible option if I imagine myself in GT’s shoes (talk about taking one for the team there lol!). There just seems more risk to him & we know he is his first priority. Inside he could keep her quiet – outside she could freely yell anything. He makes out that she was strong – well, if that’s the case, couldn’t she have caused more damage on her way out to, and on, the balcony? That tanning coffin might’ve got hurt! :scared: If the 2 chairs depicted in above photo taken by GT were out there as well, she could've pegged them off the balcony or used them against glass doors in her 'psycho' state.

He also states there being 'security'?? I’ve checked a few real estate listings for properties available in the building & can’t seem to find any mention of security in terms of personnel. But there is secure access & intercom lol. I’m going to assume he doesn’t have his own personal security team standing by. (That's always a future possibility).

IMO (from when we were looking at pics of an apartment just like his on a r/e site), I think the front door of the apartment is about 5 metres away from the middle of the living room. It is a very small apartment.

Not very far for him to escort Rrie to the front door, rather than drag her struggling and screaming out onto the balcony. I doubt there would have been a struggle if he'd led her to the front door ... or just allowed her to leave!
