It seems glaringly obvious to me that attention of the media is focussed on BS, Why? is it to take the attention away from other POI's, police tactics etc. I don't know either, I suppose I have to wait for more information
I am not saying your thoughts are wrong.

I think the focus has been on BS because until now the media hasn't had any other POI's to talk about.

IMO the media were the one's that released BS's name NOT the Police, and they have continued to run with him because he has provided so much for them to print until TJ came along.

Not necessarily, it's merely a term some people use, I myself have such a family member, my sister is not married but is in a de facto relationship of 20 years, we use the term to make it easier.

By a lawyer, I would expect that he expresses it exactly.
Of the press/media, I would expect that it does not distort the phraseology.

BBM: I agree soso appearance's can be deceptive....I could be wrong...but people with such inclinations don't advertise their pervasion as they know it's unacceptable.... they blend.....but they find as many opportunities to surround themselves with their preferred liking or attraction.....single mothers with young children...sporting groups etc..


He only pleaded guilty IMO because he knows how to work the system - having been through it so many times in his life..

That "In his hot little hands" - quote courteously supplied by family friend (MS cousin's husband)... invoice for a coffee being purchased that morning is not evidence that he(Bill Spedding) purchased it... even if the purchase was made on his card number...illegal as it is I know many couples share ATM Cards..

Whilst I am it...... the whole school thing...I couldn't give a ....If he was there (still not proven - NOT ONE PERSON).....As far as timeline goes the school function and his appearance or non appearance goes....holds little value IMO...as whatever has happened took place prior to the school function timeline anyway..... Its the 10.30am time...that needs to be locked in.

How do you know it has not been confirmed he was not at the school?

But then again....I personally don't think his attendance or non attendance has any relevance IMO.

I am only going by media and police statements to form an opinion...

If they Believe a paedophile ring had taken William... whatever happened to William was done well before the ?? what was it 12pm school function?? .... these towns are only 10 - 15 minutes apart...

Still can't get the Caravan Park - reports of a child crying out of my head...not sure why??

My point is there is very little media about his actual alibi. The only thing that has been said is there were inconsistencies in it. And the cafe worker said she was not sure as it had been a while. everyone keeps implying the alibi was false. I don't think there's enough evidence that's the case. If someone did confirm he was at the school would the public be told? Or the cafe workers claim she was not sure as has not seen them in a while. Does that mean he was not there? I'm not trying to attack you just the 2 statements being one from the media 'there was inconsistances in the story' and 2 the cafe worker saying she was unsure have lead to the theory he lied about his whereabouts. I'm not sure if BS was involved or not but I'm interested to hear more about his supposed fake alibi.

You are 100% correct there hasn't been much media....and I can totally agree with the café worker not being able to pinpoint an exact time....why would she..how could she..I buy 6 round rolls with sesames....every other day from my local bakery...lord if my innocence was based on the recollection of the lovely young girl that works there.....I'm not sure I would be doomed!!

It would appear some opinions are based solely around (???) a train of thought that BS should be excluded as a POI based on him having not been arrested back...sometime in January following the raids on his house and Business property - As surely if they found something he would have been arrested??

I am always curious to find out why people think a certain way....

For those that have those thoughts....are you willing to concede another train of thought or are you fixed with that idea??

I suppose I am coming from a place where I think it's conceivable and possibly even reasonable that Police are given a certain amount of leeway to not act (arrest) immediately. They would most likely have to show just cause why they didn't ... and it would need to be a good reason.

But what if they are able to determine an immediate arrest would hinder their wider investigation..... Are you willing to take on that consideration??

How do major Drug Gangs or syndicates get busted or major Paedophile rings get caught ...surely some illegal activity has to be observed and initial arrests are delayed...why? Could the delay be due to investigators undertaking surveillance, gathering further evidence, linking other members, uncovering further criminal activity?? I would hope that any delay (if that is permissible) is only done so in cases where police can safely say no other individual/persons will be hurt by that delay.

It seems that innocence is presumed simply due to no immediate arrest following raids ...
But are we sure that an arrest has to made at that exact time...

I've tried to find out either way but am coming up with zero concrete evidence either way.

I did come across a PDF Document written by Senior Lawyer, Policy Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions ACT ..... It was rather lengthy and truthfully much of it went over my head..but in one section on "accountability" it did state that the police have a wide scope in whether or not they decide to prosecute someone for an offence ... it went on to say something about being accountable for this and having to answer to the Attorney - General regarding that action.

I really feel for those parents in the area desperate to know if their kids were on the list and if so why? I would be wanting to know that too.

Sorry if this has been discussed but am wondering why AJ was in protective custody? Is this just standard practice given the charges or is it related to the rape charges being dropped?
