Someone is always dropping from the first page of this thread...now it is Ayla...anytime someone is bumped up, someone else goes back...:(

Not forgotten, just nothing left to say. My heart goes out to all that love little Isa.

There might be nothing to release. What exactly are you hoping to see? They're still in an ongoing investigation, it's possible there is just nothing new to release to the public. We're not used to seeing doc dumps in very many cases, but is that the reason people seem to be losing interest in Isa's case?? The thread had dropped off the front page before your post, Dr. Know.
This is sad to me. It's gone cold, the public has all but forgotten this little girl.

What I as resident & a taxpayer living here want to know...

-Last press conference TPD stated they still had 40 homes with 120 people to question, has that been done? The news hasn't told us or questioned TPD on that as far as I know.

-How many FBI are still here working the case?

-How many TPD are dedicated to Isabel's case?

-How many new leads have come in since that May 21st press conference?

-How many searches have there been since May 21st?

-How does TPD justify $1 million dollars being spent in just one month on Isabel's search? (that can come afterwards as even Casey Anthony's case didn't hit that amount after 6months of investigating, babysitting Hopespring Drive & the family) There will be an accounting of it I'm sure.

Just things like that TxLady. I don't forget unanswered statements made like 120people in 40 homes within the 3 mile radius not found or questioned as of a month later.

As just a person living close to a missing child, I just want her found. With only vigils & car washes keeping her name in the spotlight, I'm sad that our PD & MSM, for as big as we are, says nothing. Oh, forgot, it's the weekend...time to pray, pass out flyers & go to the command center...It's frustrating to many of us. A doc release would keep her name out there for a good 2-3 weeks or more with the warrants released maybe later this month. The vigils, 2 days...jmo

Been somewhat silent here due to a health battle and other life inconveniences. But I do check daily, and stay on top of the (lack of) local news for any glimmer of information or action.

As a taxpayer and resident of the Tucson area, I have a vested interest in the status of this case. I don't expect to be informed of confidential, ongoing investigative leads. But as is often the case in Tucson, the media needs to be pushed in order to re-garner their interest and delve into unanswered questions from "locals". We hear about "papering your street" and prayer vigils why? Because someone calls the media and asks for a story to be run. We, sadly, have nothing but reactive press here. How many frigging copies of the flyer does any one town need? Whatever that number, we surpassed it months ago...

I echo Dr. Know's frustration. No pressure = no coverage. And that's an irresponsible, frustrating and despicable situation IMO. TPD isn't going to update anyone until/unless people pester 'em. Starting with the press.

It's felt too depressing for me to come and check on this thread for sweet Isabel. It seems like nothing has happened at all in weeks. No news, no progress, no hope, imo.

I understand, and thanks for your reply. I doubt if LE is going to account for the money they've spent, though, since they're not required to at this point. Just a guess.
It would be nice to know the things you listed, but it's not something they feel the need to share with the public, IMO. I sure HOPE they've interviewed all these people, but depending on how many teams they have dedicated to do these interviews, it does take time. Normally, they assign different tasks to different teams.... not everyone does interviews, which takes special training. There is a whole lot more going on behind the scenes that most of us never know about. It's definitely a team effort, but there has to be someone coordinating the whole investigation, and that person has not chosen to inform the public what is going on lately. It may look like they aren't doing anything, but I have to believe that's not true.
JMHO, based on what I know (which isn't much!)

IMO, the media is under the impression that the public is interested in the here and now and not "old" news. I would assume that a reporter who has reported on this case in the past has made some calls to LE for updates and has been told there is nothing to report, no news. So, presumably it's up to the public to push them to bring the focus back to this missing child. BUT... if there is nothing to report, then what? Maybe a tiny blip on the back page of the 2nd section saying basically nothing. Most local newscasts have a limited amount of time in which to report current news, so they obviously aren't going to set aside even 20 seconds to say there is nothing to report, when there are things going on right now that they need to cover. All they can do is work with what they have, which is showing a quick clip of a vigil or somebody passing out fliers.
In short, there is probably not going to be much coverage of this case until something breaks, sad as that may be.

I have to say that this thread is so frustrating to follow (which I don't follow as closely now). The comments of each person's post is negated by another and just feels like a huge dividing line. Instead of supporting opinions it reads as "you're wrong and this is the way it truly is".
I understand the 3 sides to this case, parent's involved, parent's not involved and on the fence but open to possibilities. And am glad that the thread is still active. Maybe that is the positive to come out of the strong posts.

I hope I don't get in trouble for my rant...it is written with a thankfulness for this open forum and a respect for all opinions but most of all it is written with a passion for finding Isabel.

How many trees have been cut down for this "paper your streets" thing? How much damage has been done to the environment? This isn't 1990. Stop with the posters. If you want to keep Isabel in people's minds, get on the local news because if they are writing an article about something like that, and they are knocking on your door about it, they obviously still have an interest.

Very interesting.

It says the organisers themselves did not turn up, yet only a week ago they were in full force.

Is this implying that something has changed within the last week, to cause the support base to completely quit, suddenly?

I think you misunderstood my post. Many of us have LE in our families too & are well aware of how things are done. Thank you though. Nice seeing you around!

Pieper4 I hope your health improves, sorry to hear you've been I'll.

Isa where are you?

I'll bet dollars to donuts the only reason the local news ran that piece was because those who showed up to "paper" a park (logic escapes me there... it's monsoon season. Any flyers last only as long as the next wind/rain) contacted them somewhat PO'd. That's how Tucson news works. They don't go out looking for information, stories, updates... they react to readers who contact them about situations. Like this one. Obviously no press was at the "papering" last night. Why on earth hasn't the "family" or the "command center staff" (now called a spiritual center or something) stepped up on this fiasco? Oh wait. We don't want to be in the media's eye. Why not?

And I agree 110%. Enough with the flyers. There is not a living soul in the SW who doesn't know what Isabel looks like or how to call 911. It's all feel good smoke 'n mirrors at this point. :/

I just had a reply from a reporter, Kristi Tedesco, and she admitted that Isabel's case isn't getting enough attention from the news. I admire her for her honesty. She submitted my questions listed for TPD to her manager & news anchor. She also said they do constantly ask TPD for updates with no success so far. We'll see after the others reply if we get some answers or at least another document release.

If people went to their home to "reach out" (Cindy A talk) and no one answered, it might be because they aren't staying there. Last I checked down the street while on Broadway a few weeks ago, the house was the same, untouched & if anyone is living there they might be reclusive. The red car is still baking in the sun.
