According to the chief, they did for about an hour.

Yes you are right, but as I posted on another thread (there are so many of them Oy), was that the police could have asked them the simplest questions as in, are you OK, do you need anything, are you scared etc.. Dont forget, this was only for an hour they did this and we dont know if both boys were an hour each or there was an hour between the 2 of them. For the first interview and a huge portion of it, it is going to be making these kids comfortable and not afraid of the police. They might not have been able to ask them any questions that were needed to be asked, after all, mom and dad now refused to let the boys be actually questioned.. I think they were just "talked" to that time. I think when it came down to questioning DB and JI said NO WAY.. Now they cant say that anymore..

Possibly, or possibly they asked them specifically what they might know or have heard. And the interview they are doing or soon to be doing is a simple follow up for more detail.

LE removed the boys?????????????????????

Am I mistaken? It has happened before.

ETA, YES, I am mistaken. I am going to delete my post above to avoid confusion.

Here is what ABC is reporting:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-baby-lisa-irwin-infants-brothers-submit-dna/story?id=14817602

Parents have agreed to an interview and DNA sampling as long as LE doesnt participate. LE interviewed them the day of the disappearance.

"We spoke to one for 50 minutes and the other for 30 minutes," Snapp said. "They were woken up very early in the morning and, due to their ages, we didn't want to interview them for too long that day."
Snapp said there will not be any detectives involved in Friday's interviews. They will be conducted by child specialists.

Respectfully...where has it been proven that DB "snuck" to buy alcohol with her brother?

And, also, the neighbor who drank with DB that night was a "she" and did not live across the street, but next door.

But I totally agree with you that DB is up to something that JI most likely is unaware of.

There were two separate purchases as confirmed by the store. One for the diaper wipes and baby food, the other was for the box of wine. On camera, DB is seen handing her brother the change for the wine (did he pay for it?) and on camera DB tucked the receipt in her purse. The wine was not for her underaged brother as she reports that she and the neighbor drank it that night. The police found the receipt during a search and contacted the convenience store with the ensuing confirmation of two separate transactions including the purchase of wine. DB then had to admit the change in the timeline and the fact that she had been drinking. She has not been straightforward about the drinking. The whole thing about two separate transactions, leads one to suspect that she was trying to conceal the purchase from JI.

The neighbor across the street reports knowing that s/he could not come over when the lights were off. The neighbor (male/female) is reported as saying that the lights were off at 10:30. The neighbor she drank with is female and left at or before 10:30 with her daughter. According to Dr. Drew that neighbor also confirmed the lights were off at 10:30. You can find the reference on that site.

I am completely wrong. The boys have NOT been removed.

I'm new, just learning. But, here is a link to several questions being tossed around.

http://www.kansascity.com/2011/10/25/3229412/legal-dance-with-police-is-part.html

It says the DNA is because there was unidentified fingerprints found in the search on Oct. 19, and they need the whole family's DNA to rule out and narrow down. I hate to see the interview done by CPS. I wish it could be done by an independent child psychologist that both LE and DB and JI agreed to.

I am still wondering why the PC wasn't taken right at FIRST like Oct 4 or 5, instead of waiting until Oct. 19th and getting search warrant for it. The Bobby Jo Stinett case, north of KC, was solved quickly and baby retrieved, by seeing who the mom had been chatting with. PC's should be asked for the first day. Usually the LE can just ask, "may I take the PC?" and usually the parents say "yes, of course."

If there is unidentified dna then that is really big information. It strengthens the idea of a stranger/intruder abduction

No, teh. I had a lapse of brain activity for a while....you all can thank me for completely derailing the thread, lol.

So the way I am seeing it is that the boys WERE questioned initially and the parents have agreed to have them questioned again.

I cannot blame mom and dad for not allowing LE to do the interview given their experiences.

I have yet to find any report that mentions CPS, or any CPS involvement with the family at this time. It looks to me that the police have specialists who handle children, and they conducted the initial interviews with the boys and will handle the second interviews as well. moo

Ok so why are they waiting until Friday? Anyone have a logical explanation for the wait? Maybe until more results come in? But why not get it done and over with? There is a baby missing here! And not to mention Im sure the added stress on these children going for the interviews. Can you imagine how much stress and worry this waiting game will put on them on top of having to be taken somewhere to talk about where their missing sister is. I mean honestly I would be upset over how it would make my child feel to be taken away from my parents after my sister went up missing! I mean look at it from the view of a child. I hope maybe they will get someone to be with them that is trustworthy from all angles....I hope anyways. Guess I will add these 2 oys to my prayer list with Lisa. And to think if they did have a part in breaking the case and finding lisa what kind of emotional toll it may have on them. ~ not exactly the same situation but if family where to be involved in this case.....My husband told on his father for cheating and thus has always blamed himself for his parents divorce...even 30 years later he still feel guilty. I guess I can sort of see the parents reasoning for holding them back when I look at it from all the angles. :fence::fence::fence: Still sitting....I think ??

In da middle posted (somewhere) that there is no school on Friday, perhaps they are scheduling around school. imo

I'm glad to hear the two brothers will be interviewed. It's highly important that all persons in the Irwin home on the night that Lisa disappeared are questioned. Those who were also in the home in the hours prior to Lisa's disappearance.........DB's brother and the neighbor DB was drinking with, also need to be interviewed, but I'm presuming they already have been interviewed.

Children are observant of the events that take place around them. I'm confident that after interviewing the children, LE will have a better handle on what events likely occurred in the house and can move forward with this case.

I wish the children had been interviewed in the first week after Lisa's disappearance. If it was a stranger abduction, the trail has likely grown cold after three weeks.

Could be a number of possible reasons to wait... perhaps because the kids are in school? Maybe they happen to have Friday off, as it is normal parent conference/teacher in-service time around this area. Maybe because that is when the interviewer had an appointment time available and an open room to do the interview in. Sometimes the WS mindset tends to assign some major implication to the smallest detail when it is really just as simple as...let the kids stick to their normal routine as much as possible because that is what is best for THEM at this time.

I am really surprised it was made public. If they are trying to keep a routine with the kids that includes school, why let their schoolmates and parents of them know they will be interviewed and have dna taken? They could be teased or scared or told they are 'going to jail' .. typical kid stuff.

That would be awful, and I truly hope it doesn't happen. Depends on what kind of parental discussion the kids are hearing at home, imo. I hope (probably naively) that their classmates are being urged to treat these boys with compassion and respect-and that school staff is vigilant that they are not being bullied in any way.

I am going to take it on assumption here that the police probably spoke with the kids after their sister went missing. Probably very short questions like did you hear or see anything type of questions, nothing they could really get info from. I have a feeling that the parents do not want these kids questioned and thats why they have been holding out. For all we know the police could have just asked both boys if they were OK and if they were scared etc... This time it will be with someone that will really ask them what needs to be asked and know how to do it too.

First page link affirms that a social worker interviewed them the first time. One for 30 minutes, one for 50 minutes.

I am interested in why they are wanting DNA. I wonder if they have "something" and they want to compare other DNA against it. Interesting to me.

Glad they are interviewing the brother that was with her buying the wine. I have a feeling he may have been drinking there that evening also.
