I guess the family does know, just because they "take her off" life support doesn't mean she will pass on that day? I'm just wondering if this is the reason they have left her on it to this date to say "she passed away" the same day as her mother.

I was thinking the same thing. All I can think is the drs told them that she will not last long when they turn off machines.
Someone here suggested this recently and I could not believe they would do that but apparently they are.

I think it is sad really but not my call.

So far today TMZ and "sources close to the family" say tomorrow they will take BK off life support and lawyer says it's not true.

Here we go again.

I'll just say it:

If the family has been keeping Krissy alive for the last week just so they can make the date "an appointment" to coincide with Whitney's death, that is incredibly selfish on their part.

Not to mention incredibly expensive and potentially taxing for all of the health care professionals involved. Can you imagine what it has been like for the other families who have loved ones in that ICU unit? Or even on that floor of the hospital?

Making a circus out of a tragedy is just wrong, particularly now that criminal charges might be involved.

I think this is going to play out for a long time. Just my feeling... She will be moved to a nursing home or a private home soon...

Bobby Brown's attorney rips 'false' Bobbi Kristina reports

2:38 p.m. EST February 10, 2015

ATLANTA -- The attorney for Bobby Brown blasted media reports concerning Bobbi Kristina Brown and promised they "will be dealt with at an appropriate time."

...In a statement released on Tuesday, Bobby Brown's attorney Chris Brown thanked supporters for attending a candlelight vigil for Bobbi Kristina on Monday in Riverdale, and said, "The Brown family is amazed by the love and support from all that attended."

Then Chris Brown addressed other recent media reports on Bobbi Kristina's condition, stating...

Having experienced a family member being taken off life support very recently, IMO, the doctors have an idea of how long she will be able to breathe on her own.

This is so incredibly sad.

From the article linked above:

Then Chris Brown addressed other recent media reports on Bobbi Kristina's condition, stating:

However the false reports that continue to appear in print and on the internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time. In particular, the false reporting of TMZ, The National Enquirer, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Daily Mail (UK) citing, police sources, family sources and Bobby Brown himself, will receive my attention. The desire to be "first" has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy. This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence.

BBM.

It does seem-as usual-in high profile cases like this, that these media outlets are consumed with a kind of adrenalin fueled frenzy to get the story first, and truth or sensitivity be damned.

Remember in All The President's Men, when Ben Bradley wouldn't let Woodward and Berstein print anything from an anonymous source without getting at least 2 independent confirmations? These kinds of journalistic ethics seem to be nonexistent now.

I hope this doesn't turn into another Jahi McMath situation with BK being kept on life support indefinitely.

This is what concerns me.

I read an article recently (no link sorry) that directly quoted Pat and it went from talking about BK to witnessing about miracles and jesus and man can't direct miracles but jesus can....

And i thought, oh no. This is going to be like Jahi McMath.

I can't help but feel so bad for Bobby.
He can't take a breath without it making "news". This is the hardest decision he will ever have to make.
I say let him make it in his own time.

If he chooses tomorrow, IMO that's fine. If he chooses another day, IMO that's fine. I don't think she's suffering.

I hope it's not very long. I hope he can come to grips with making the decision soon.

But, let him work out his timetable. This is his baby FGS.

I always think of that movie too...sadly those days are long gone.

What if BK doesn't actually pass on Wednesday?
Am I the only one thinking that?

I thought of that.

If she is actually brain dead, her heart is totally dependent on that ventilator to keep her heart beating. If they withdraw life support just after midnight, she will die in minutes.

If she still has brain function it may take awhile.

When I was in nursing school, I worked in a trauma ICU part time. We had a young guy who was severely brain damaged, but didn't meet every single one of the criteria for brain death. His parents decided to withdraw life support. They kissed him goodbye and left because they didn't want to witness him dying. It took many hours for this poor kid to go. Still, it was a matter of hours, not days. I will never forget that day.

If BK is vent dependent, she will go on the designated day.

I know after my dads major heart attack-we withdrew support---took well over 24 hours for him to pass :(

When I was on the Code Blue Team in the ICU, I had a family friend on the unit. The diagnosis was similar, and the family eventually made the heart wrenching decision. They asked if I could be in the room for support. The attending approved it, my charge nurse gave the OK, and I was relieved of my duties.

Despite the predictions of the specialists, and the attending, the patient did not depart as predicted. I stayed well past my shift (until the sun rose the following morning). Life (and death) are inherently unpredictable. It was something I, too, will never, ever forget. :rose:

The circle of control only reaches so far. The best laid plans, with all the best of intentions, don't always end with the desired result.

I hope with all my heart and soul that Bobbi Kristina will not suffer. In reading her thread since she was found, I've been struck by how much pain she's experienced in her short life.

I wish for her to have everything it seems she was unable to attain while on this earth. She truly deserves to be at peace, surrounded by unconditional love and grace. I will always mourn the fact that she wasn't able to find what she needed and deserved while she was here.

I started composing this post a few hours ago. Now we are hearing that this may not even be happening. Whatever the case may be, it is heartbreaking to me, knowing that her life is hanging in the balance. :(

But living in a 10,000 sq foot castle means NOTHING if you don't have a parent's deep love and nurturing. And I don't think WH or BB were capable of really raising and caring for those kids. Just because the kids lived in a mansion and had top shelf choices ---it does not mean they were 'cared' for.

My kids grew up in a very wealthy area. We are like the 'poorest' family around here, living in a school district where most of the kids lived in mansions. And I have to tell you, MANY of these super duper rich kids killed themselves. Literally --two hung themselves, two drove over a cliff on Malibu Canyon road, Three OD'd on pills/drugs.

Being rich ain't all it's cracked up to be.

I agree. But at the time at the age of 12 or so; there was only 2 options. 1) Live with grandparents who 's neighborhood was surrounded by bloods and crips. Or 2) Go with Whitney whom was situated in the best school districts in a no crime rate area. Those were the choices. So I understand why option 2 was picked. Now I agree that rich kids have their problems too. But if he grew up around gangs; He probably would have been dead or in jail right now. So I can understand why they chose for him to live with whitney over foster care or living in a gang infested community where criminal peer pressure was at a all time high. Jmo.

Those were not the only options. She could have lived with Cissy or even been sent away to a good school

We are talking about why Nick Gordon family let him move in with Whitney when he was around 12 or so. Katydid123 thinks that it may have been better for him to live with his grandparents in a ghetto/ crime infested area.

I sense that there is some disagreement between the Houston/Brown families about who is in charge and who will or should make the ultimate decision about when and/or if life support should be discontinued. The notion that BK should be "released" on the same date that her mother died three years ago seems like something coming from the Houstons. Perhaps Bobby Brown is not in favor of this and prefers to choose his own day/date for discontinuing life support for his daughter. As next of kin, it is his decision.
