Do we know what day the trailer was transported from Hamilton to Tillsonburg? (ie: the day of the magic box)

"The padlock was locked on the door, she says, but the door wasn't secured."

Do we know if there were double doors on the back or a single door?

We see a long driveway, in the far right corner a truck turns, towing a large trailer. Clip runs about 5 seconds #MillardSmich #Bosma

Just saw very quick video - a few seconds - of vehicle towing trailer past driveway of neighbour Rocco Oppedisano. #Bosma

For reference, the house with the video surveillance footage is on Westridge Drive, down the street from Tinsmith Crt.

I would think it would be double doors on that type of trailer. JMO

May 12, 2013

I don't think it can be.....Trailer was first found on May 12 (officer Brent Gibson arrived at MB's house at 6:21 pm on May 12 with 2 tow trucks and seems to have escorted it back to a secure facility in Hamilton)

Officer Laura Troubridge left the secure Metro facility in Hamilton to go to the OPP facility in Tillsonburg at 6:10pm.

Can't be the same day.....

Not sure if we've heard that LE at the scene even went in the back doors. They would have had to wait for the truck to pull it away from the garage. But just another reason perhaps why he was building a new trailer to go with his new truck to make it to Baja by the 15th. ;)

MOO

This makes sense, police entered initially through the side door, tow truck came later, they pulled it forward, removed plates and put seal on before towing to Metro. They didn't fiddle with it at the back. I don't see they did anything wrong. Female officer then came to escort the next trip to OPP facility. She did nothing wrong, as far as she knows it is secure.

Since it was his trailer, I assume he KNEW there was a glitch with the back doors and knew how to latch them properly. I don't think he rigged anything, I think the LE on scene at MB's home that handled the doors just didn't know about the glitchy latch & assumed they were secure.

Maybe the doors were unlocked for a reason, the trailer obviously arrived there without a hitch ( pardon the pun), or maybe after the police checked to see if TB was in there, and whatever else they may have done in there, they forgot to lock the door . just a thought

I don't think it's safe to assume that until or unless we learn THAT phone was also pinging off the same tower in Ancaster that night.

... Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't MS's girlfriend's burner phone ping of the ancaster tower also? I thought that was confirmed with evidence but I could be getting confused

It's a sinking feeling I have for her......... I can't even imagine how she feels right now, never mind when it happened...

LE should have sent another officer with her. That person could have used the cell to contact the tow truck driver. Also, the tow truck driver should have known enough to inspect and secure the load. I thought the driver was responsible for that. Maybe LE needs to consider using another company. Two tow truck drivers at the scene, and neither of them secured the back doors properly ???

Perhaps she is young, and inexperienced. I feel sorry for her, and I give her full marks for not trying to cover anything up. I suppose there will be people saying that she did not know how to inspect and secure the trailer like a man would have ( sigh ). She has learned a hard lesson, and will not count on others so much in the future. It could have happened to any number of officers, but I agree it is fundamentally careless. I can only imagine how I would have felt in her shoes when I saw those doors fly open, a box come out, and then not being able to get the attention of the tow truck driver. Your worst nightmare !

They entered through a locked side door, not the rear which was backed up very close to the house.

I don't believe we were given any info about ping's on MM's phones so far

Exactly. They didn't have a warrant to search it after they established that the missing person was not inside so they had no authority to enter those back doors.

Sorry, I just looked back through the tweets. Too many things happening in a few days span...

So it was the following day, May 13, 2013 that Troubridge was following it on it's way to Tilsonburg

They entered through a locked side door, not the rear which was backed up very close to the house.

Yes, but it seems the trailer was unlocked the whole time. It tells me that the trailer was accessible from Kleinburg to Hamilton and from Hamilton until the trailer doors did an open Sesame and launched that strangely empty box. So even after sealing the locks ( minus the rear), the trailer was accessible to whoever was there at both locations, and also accessible prior to being checked at it's Tillsonburg destination. They are supposed to seal it completely for a reason. That is a big problem for LE in my opinion.

I was almost positive that's what I read too, but went back to find the direct tweet from court and could not locate it. So, I can't say.

She's been with Halton Regional Police for 12 years.

For those who think the Day of the Magic Box was May 12, I respectfully disagree....

He helped "escort" the trailer with Bosma's truck in it back to Hamilton from Millard's mother's driveway.

He got to Kleinburg at at 6:21 p.m. on the 12th.

The officer didn't drive the tow truck, however. At 6:10 p.m. they left and and drove to the OPP facility.

Unless the officers are mistaken in their testimony, it can't be the same day because Officer Carter didn't arrive until 6:21pm in Kleinburg......and Officer Troubridge left Hamilton at 6:10pm.
