So we didn't hear any testimony from Penner about what Schlatman told him they were going to use the unit for, did we? I bet that is what some of the legal arguments were about and as a result the Crown wasn't allowed to ask Penner about that.

Just thinking about the logistics of using this death machine...

If run at the farm, it would either need to be powered by a noisy generator, (which would definitely draw attention) or plugged in to an industrial extension cord since I'm *assuming* it needs to be run outside? I don't know this has been stated as fact but it makes sense.

If run at the hangar, it wouldn't draw any attention at all, and was in fact run outside according to the Crown's opening statement about it being lit just outside the doors of the hangar.

Just thinking out loud. moo, etc.

Primarily, these incinerators are used to get rid of diseased animals. It burns 125 pounds an hour.

"It's just a dry powder basically that's left at the end," Penner says. You can then take it out of the ash door with a rake.

Adam Carter 2:11 PM
Schlatman was contemplating the 250 pound or the 500 pound model, Penner says.

Another email from Schlatman: "Hey Bill, received the unit on Thursday. WOW! Very impressive. A quick question, do you know the amount of gas it would take to run the unit for say one hour? Or for a complete burn of fire hours? Just trying to figure out tank sizing..."

July 9, 2012 from Schlatman to Penner: "Hi Bill, received the unit on Thursday. Wow, very impressive."

That was a Monday, so he was talking about Thursday July 5, 21012, the day after LB is alleged to have been killed.

So the Eliminator burns 125 lbs an hour, and SS was asking about how much fuel would be needed to run it for an hour. LB probably weighed 125 lbs or less.

Wasn't the Eliminator in the barn before it was moved to the area by the trees? FWIW, most barns have electrical power.....not saying DM's barn did or did not.....do we have any info about this?

I do remember seeing an evidence marker, on the hydro box, attached to the barn. this would be the first round of the investigation.

Feb 22 2016 2:50 PMThe unit can't operate without those fans, and it has to be plugged in for that.

ha BINGO now we know why he had to do this at hangar

Why? No electricity at the farm? More than likely the incinerator was brought to the hangar because during the several hours it would take to do the burn, they could spend dismantling the truck. Or, the carpet would need to be burnt as well. They were probably planning on burning the seats as well but they were in one piece and wouldn't fit.

Penner never dealt with Dell, though says Schlatman mentioned Dellen Millard during conversation prior. #Bosma

Penner sends Schlatman the final invoice. Says he's coming to Outdoor Show in Sept and they should connect. Did you? Leitch asks. No. #Bosma

Does it say that that on Monday July 9 they emailed Penner to say that they received the unit on Thursday", July 5. When was LB last heard from? Sorry, if this has already been mentioned.

Was mentioned way back that there was a power source in the barn....will have to look for post.

So he got this incinerator delivered on July 5th, 2012? From an order placed on June 21st, 2012? Are those the correct dates?

They make generators that are extremely quiet now. The barn was mentioned as a possible source of power. Also, in inverter could have been used in a vehicle. I believe the burn likely did happen at the hanger, but the need for electricity doesn't necessarily prove that it did. MOO

He asked about fuel for an hour and fuel for a full 5 hour burn. The unit obviously came without a propane tank so these seem like legit questions.

Penner explaining how unit works. Says all that's left would be powder so even in case of diseased animals, can be spread on fields. #Bosma

Crown is done with Penner. Quick aft break before cross-examination begins. #Bosma

IF this is the case, then why did the anthropologist state that human bones wouldn't burn completely?

so if the incinerator unit is mobile and he purchased in July 2012 then wants to build a shop on property in April 2013..what kind of business was he planning?

No cell phone activity on LB's phone after last calls to DM on July 3.

How big a girl was she ?.....mmmmm

Welcome :wagon: and I totally agree.....

Airport hanger is in a secured place. No one would question what they were doing.
County neighbors would notice the activity and anyone can pop in at the farm especially in the early hrs of morning. MOO

Multiple convictions could lead to a Dangerous Offender designation locking him up for life

Not multiple murder convictions. The Dangerous Offender designation is for repeat offenders of other sorts, as I explained (with link to the relevant law) in this post:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-Trial-02-11-16-Day-8&p=12350768#post12350768.

It's easy to see why one would get that idea, though, since Bernardo has a Dangerous Offender designation. That was given because of his rape convictions, not the murders. In general, it is unnecessary for convicted murderers, since although they may apply for parole after 25 years, they have no "right" to parole, and may never get it, so in effect, like DO's, they are behind bars indefinitely until such time as authorities deem them fit to release -- and even then, they are on parole forever.

Repeat sexual offenders were not under previous legislation subject to the same constraints and could be released with no conditions and no supervision; this was one problem the Dangerous Offender legislation was brought in to address.

IF this is the case, then why did the anthropologist state that human bones wouldn't burn completely?

Animal bones burn differently? No idea, just guessing. Or, this guy is wrong and the animal bones don't burn completely, but mostly.

moo.
