Essies, I just read your link...thank you so much for sharing this with us! What a heart wrenching eye opener!!! At the end, he mentions the collapse of the Gulf floor...what does this mean, what would happen, this is just incomprehensible!!!!

I reported on this yesterday. What this means is that the oil could gush from the ocean floor dumping more oil per day into the Gulf than all the accumulated oil the Horizon well has leaked into the Gulf so far. Unimaginable! So much so, clean up will likely be fighting a losing battle. This is absolutely the worst case scenario, and could spell death for the entire Gulf of Mexico, parts of our eastern seashore, and parts of the Atlantic away from the US coast. It hasn't happened yet, but unfortunately it is very likely to happen. MOO.

Revelation 16
King James Version

1And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshiped his image.

3And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

4And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

Maybe it's just me, but the oil looks red rather than black. Just sayin'

Maybe this is why "no fly zones" are being put in place-this is what they don't want us to see!! There are more leaks in the gulf than Deep Water Horizon!!

Multiple oil rig leaks now threaten entire Gulf

It has come to light that Diamond's rig has been leaking oil since April 30, according to federal documents just released to the public.

Satellites monitoring the Deepwater oil slick have also picked up the Ocean Saratoga slick that now is extending out about 10 miles across the Gulf.

Federal officials, mostly ineffective during the first 50 days of the ongoing BP catastrophe, now admit that the Diamond oil slick is also most likely washing up onto Louisiana's shoreline threatening more coastal life.
This video is not Deep Water Horizon!!

UPDATE: The FAA has announced a "no-fly" zone over most of the Gulf to protect the clean-up workers, they say. It looks like this video might be one of the last views of the spill from above.

So what happens when BP declares bankruptcy? Not that they have, I'm just preparing for the inevitable....

They'll try to weasel out of paying for all of this mess, I am sure.

Three oil leaks in Gulf possible, FL power and water supplies may be at risk

Florida residents, however, may be more concerned with this report from Wayne Madsen, another Washington DC-based investigative journalist and nationally-distributed columnist. In a piece picked up by the web site, Global Research, Madsen writes:

...Emergency planning sources in Florida have informed [me] that the state faces severe fresh water shortages and power blackouts if the thick crude oil from the Deepwater Horizon disaster clogs sea water intakes at the largest seawater desalinization plant in the United States - the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalinization Plant at Apollo Beach
According to National Geographic, oil clogging water intakes does pose a risk of power shutdowns at both nuclear and coal-fired plants. The Anclote facility, which provides electricity to about 600,000 households north of Tampa-St. Petersburg, is just one of at least six power stations along the Gulf Coast that could be at risk from the crude spreading out from BP’s wrecked well site. Southern Company's Gulf Power facility near Pensacola is also at risk.

Power shutdowns are just one of many risks to business and infrastructure in the Gulf that could long persist even after the flow of oil is stopped.

If ever there were a time for an uprising from the ppl, it is now!!! This bureaucracy red tape that is preventing us from protecting our coasts, securing proper equipment, saving our wildlife, etc. is so appalling that I don't even have words to describe my emotions! This needs to be the 'only' priority of the government right now!!! These wars that we are involved in are b.s., bring our troops home and lets take care of the Gulf of Mexico!

I honestly think they don't want oil clean up workers...as I had posted before, they are paying between 11 and 12 dollars an hour, they require you to work 12 hrs a day and 7 days a week, and if you get ill due to unknown toxins from the dispersants, you are pretty much s. o. o. l.!!!!

Why is this cover up being allowed? Why have some of these videos and articles that you all have posted not gone viral? Why do we only hear a few ppl shouting back at the oil co and govnt...why all the fear?????? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I hate to say this because I sound like a kook, but I wonder if the President and this administration want more damage so they can further their energy agenda?
The President has the power to cut through all the red tape, why isn't it being done?

It's obvious the government and the oil companies are so entangled and in very deep with each other - that's why there is a huge cover up IMO. The cover up is only going to get worse I'm afraid. No fly overs huh? Really....WHY IS THAT? Trying to hide something from the public - it's not for safety reasons.

anyone got a take on what will happen if the "gulf seabed collapses? I don't mean about the oil - I get that - if it collapses then all he77 breaks loose and the Gulf generally turns into the "La Brea Tar Pits". BUT what happens to our "big blue ball"? Will it cause a glitch in our rotation? Will it create "sink holes" elsewhere? What? I read all the articles and didn't see any mention of the widespread effect this will have. Can anyone help? TIA

An interesting and scary read!

BP and the government are analogous to dinosaurs. I have been dealing with them for seven years. Their approach to any change or disaster is ruled by organizational structure. They know the boom they are using will not work. It is not designed for this. I'm a marine safety officer. I don't want people dying. I don't want wildlife dying. BP is trying to hide the spill by using dispersants and it is working. I live on a boat and you are messing with my environment. Check out the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 . You are not allowed to use dispersants. It's in the water column now and there is no getting rid of it.

The scary part is what lies below the surface.

Corexit 9527 has been designated a "chronic and acute health hazard" by the EPA. It is made with 2-butoxyethanol, a highly toxic chemical that has long been linked to the health problems of cleanup crews who worked on the Exxon Valdez spill. On the toxicity question, you could hardly find a more dangerous combination of poisons to dump into the Gulf of Mexico than what has been revealed in Corexit. The answers are currently unknown, which is exactly why it is so inexcusable that Nalco and the oil industry giants would for so long refuse to disclose the chemical ingredients they're dumping into the Gulf of Mexico in huge quantities (over a million gallons dumped into the ocean to date).

Toxic Corexit dispersant chemicals remained secret as feds colluded with Big Business
<snipped>
A newer Corexit recipe dubbed the "9500 formula" contains dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate, a detergent chemical that's also found in laxatives. What do you suppose happens to the marine ecosystem when fish and sea turtles ingest this chemical through their gills and skin? And just as importantly, what do you think happens to the human beings who are working around this chemical, breathing in its fumes and touching it with their skin?

They can enforce "no fly zones" and harass reporters and intimidate workers-but they can't stop witnesses and dead wildlife from screaming the truth!!

NEW ORLEANS -- "A bolt of lightning struck the ship capturing oil from a blown-out BP well in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, igniting a fire that halted containment efforts in another setback for the embattled company in its nearly two-month struggle to stop the spill, the company said."

Not fear, karma-girl. Apathy. "Not my problem". This crime is viewed by many as a Louisiana problem, or a Gulf Coast problem.
