Search for missing cheerleader intensifies

"Luv this Sheriff's response"..

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott has activated his major crimes unit – a team of veteran investigators, replacing the missing persons unit that initially handled the case. He said Wednesday he is highly concerned about the 15-year-old girl’s vanishing with no trace.

“We’ve put our best people on this,” Lott said in an interview. “We’re going to work this like it’s something bad, in hopes that it turns out to be something good.”

MISSING WOMAN FROM BATON ROUGE, MISSING SINCE AUGUST 2011:
SYLVAINE LOZADA
This woman was a teacher originally from belgium. She was married to Oscar Losada from Venezuela and they have a young daughter, whom Sylvaine adored ! Seems that the couple were not getting along, oscar becoming physically abusive. Slyvaine vanishes one day in August 2011. Oscar is questioned by authorities, i believe. Suddenly Oscar takes their daughter and says he is going to visit family in Venezuela and plans to return shortly. Of course he never returned and no word from Sylvaine. Sylvaine's family has come over from Belgium to try to raise awareness. Sylvaine's students have built a garden in her honor. Her students were crazy about Sylvaine, as was everyone else that knew her. Look her up as I do not do well with links and tell me Websleuthers, what can I, we do to push her missing persons case forward? I left out the other info, I.E. Oscar bought concrete and buckets ...... It haunts me and I'd like to do something. Please tell me where to start ??
I am tired tonight so this may not have been the best time to bring her up as I am going to bed soon. Check it out and let's start a dialogue on what can be done to help Sylvaine. I don't really know much else about the case. I need to do some research. Don't know if she has been posted here or not. Thanks for any and all ideas.
Bessie, if this is the improper approach, please let me know.

fox, yes this is the woman, and she is on websleuths. You are always on top of your game. This woman has no family in the br area and no voice, except for her students and educational peers. I think it is heart wrenching ! A young woman contributing to society with a child who was the center of her universe, according to people who knew her.
Tomorrow, tell me what to do.
Many thanks ~ good nite !

The many positives from the MIckey Shunick tragedy will begin to emerge once the family & community's grieving process runs its due course.. Sure hope the Shunick family & support group continues their efforts to help the many other missing/murdered persons in LA & beyond. I feel confident that they will. Their amazing awareness efforts have never been witnessed before in other missing person cases, imo..

The article is from a couple of years ago, I believe. One of the names mentioned within, Sandra Burris, seemed to ring a bell with me from having it mentioned in this thread, I believe. (Not sure if her case has been solved by now -- you folks who are doing most of the research here will know, I'm sure.)

Anyhow -- it would not surprise me if some of the other names in this thread ended up in those decks (or will end up in the decks, if they do this intermittently). I wonder if Lisa Pate's did -- maybe so, and it sparked some of the inmate reports the state had ready to use in a case against BSL.

Just thought it interesting!

Backwoods, I had the honor of meeting the amazing couple that came up with the inmate playing card idea, then made it a reality.. Many significant tips have resulted from the cards..

I can't understand why he would have been allowed to leave the country knowing he had bought concrete and buckets. Maybe someone can if they aren't charged? How could anyone not know that abusive husband, divorce, disappearace and concrete and buckets probably equals one thing IMO. I'll have to read up and see if there is more to it.
