I did read the comments about her husband and while I do not know the man.
that would concern me that he owes girl friends and ex wive a lot of money and that his assets are frozen because his partner died :eek:
OMG I wonder if her mother knows and if there is anything she can do to protect BM's assets. :eek:

If he is a con man as they say - there will be lots of trouble in paradise with this guy, he just may have gotten rich over night.
 
Director Michael Z. Gordon was planning to go ahead with Brittany Murphy (whose real name was Brittany Anne Bertolotti) in a movie called “Shrinking Charlotte” that was set to shoot in January. Gordon told me he was nervous about working with Murphy because his staff had been in touch with the Puerto Rico production office of “The Caller.” That was the movie from which Murphy was fired two weeks ago.

But what he heard about her husband, Simon Monjack, was what gave him pause.

“”Monjack came on the set inebriated,” Gordon said he’d been told. “The producers wanted to keep him away. Brittany of course defended him. And so she was let go.”

I spoke to two others movie producers today who came in contact with him on a project in the last couple of years. They described him as a “con man.” Neither had anything nice to say, but one of them warned: “He’s a dangerous man.” According to this producer, Monjack presented himself as someone with a lot of money and had none at all. A lawsuit was settled after the film in question was made.

Monjack had other problems besides drinking and interfering with Murphy’s career. He is a walking legal time bomb.

For one thing, the British citizen was arrested a month prior to his marriage to Murphy in May 2007 because his visa expired. The tabloids speculated that he married Murphy to avoid deportation.

At the very least...he likely was a bad influence...maybe co-dependants, did he control or both...? A sad ending, nonetheless.
 
:( What sad news. I've enjoyed every movie Brittany was in. This is a tremendous loss for her family and fans. RIP Brittany. You are loved by many.
 
There is the firing, the PR incident, the husband being taken to the hospital, then the police coming to Brittany's home after the neighbors called about her being hysterical about "shots fired". Turned out to be nothing but a backfire of a furnace or something.

But it appears to be a heavy drug problem to me.
It is VERY expensive for a movie to cut an actress loose after production has started.
 
I don't buy the religion excuse. Sorry...he isn't exactly a highly moral Man, from what I've read. Good time to start observing...even if he had nothing to do with her death, he sounds like quite the piece of work.
 
I was so saddened to hear that she had passed away. She was a gorgeous woman and had such great comedic timing.

ETA: I think my son has been reading over my shoulder to long, he thinks the husband killed her by throwing a radio in the shower to electrocute her. :)
 
Funny thing...that myspace page is BOTH of theirs...it says "Simon Monjack and Brittany Murphy"...then he writes...

And a con man... :( I would not be surprised if she was conned and controlled.
I do not like that only this relationship was kept under wraps when all her other relationships were in the open.
I do not like that it was a hush hush marriage, because IMHO he id not want her to get other people's opinion about him so secrecy kept her from talking about this relationship and kept her from hearing the truth about this SOB.

That sounds like she lost her self to him....
I think my previous post now makes more sense eve to me :crazy:
I see a girl controlled and manipulate.
