Im familiar with the .223 as I have a rifle that uses that caliber. They are a very fast bullet. The Feet-per-second is outrageously fast bullet. Around 2500-3000+ FPS. The bullet size itself is rather small but the speed of the bullet makes up for it and it can cause tremendous damage to human tissue because the impact velocity is super fast.

Fast bullet but standard FMJ ammo (approved for military use) doesn't have a very high kill rate. I wonder what type of ammo they used.

He was likely doing a lot more travelling than that one trip. Their baby is already 6 months old so how did that work?

OK this timeline makes more sense to me now. THey would have had to have met up by the summer of 214 for her to be pregnant and have a six-month old. Why would she do this knowing that she would likely be shot and killed? Folie-a-deux? I don't think so. JMO
