The ATM photo of the perpetrator was released and posted awhile back. I don't want to look at it again, otherwise I would help you find it. It was very unsettling, IMO.
Thanks for the reply but that was the wrong photo, different person, different bank, unfortunately for him, he was a dead ringer for the barbaric monster.

I may be wrong, but I thought that LE originally got the wrong photo, but they did get the right photo after (he was identified through this photo). I was under the impression that the photo they actually released to the public was the correct photo.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that investigators identified Jesus Salgado, 48, after he used a victim’s ATM card. Authorities previously said that family members were taken against their will at gunpoint from a Merced business in the 800 block of South Highway 59 on Monday.

This Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, video image released by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office shows Jesus Salgado, 48, making a bank transaction at an ATM at a bank in Atwater. Salgado is similar in appearance to the man in the surveillance photo from the original kidnapping scene where four members of a family, including an 8-month-old child, were taken against their will at gunpoint from a business in Merced on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022. Detectives obtained a surveillance photo from the ATM in Atwater and “the person is similar in appearance to the surveillance photo from the original kidnapping scene,” the office said in a statement. The sheriff’s office had released two still images of a possible suspect seen in surveillance footage and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

Oh I didn’t see a new picture, my bad. The guy shown here is the wrong person.

I still selfishly want to know why he took the men first and to where before returning for her and the baby. There’s no way (I don’t think) he could have made it to where they were ultimately found and back in the 6ish minutes he was gone with the men. Is it possible he left, killed them someplace 3 minutes away and returned with their bodies in the bed of the truck, for example?

I don’t remember hearing anything for certain that the men weren’t in the truck when he returned to get her and the baby. Nothing he did makes sense to me. JMO

See Knox’s map for locations.

A family spokesperson tells Action News the primary suspect in the kidnapping and murder, Jesus Manuel Salgado, is a former employee who used to drive for the victim's trucking company. They had a disagreement and parted ways.

The spokesperson also revealed that baby Aroohi Dheri was left for dead and died from exposure."

A trucking business that they had just started operations 6 days ago, the type of of transporting goods were groceries.

Then how likely is he to have been a ‘former employee’ who used to drive for them. Is it possible that the reporter conflated this story with his previous conviction, when he tried to kidnap his ex-employer?

Kidnaps family for revenge/robbery/some other trivial motive - Cowardly

Murders said family - Cowardly

Attempts suicide afterward - Cowardly

Leaves innocent baby to suffer a horrific death alone - BEYOND COWARDLY

SMH.... o_O

Per the MSM link, this Headline and writing here is terrible! Under the guise of "family spokesperson," this reads like the suspect was a former employee of the current victims found deceased last night in the orchard (not the former, victims of the 2005 home invasion)!

And I'm assuming the second reference to "spokesperson" that news the baby was left for dead is attributed to a family spokesperson for the current victims and NOT the later family.

i think its possible suspect may have drove for one of them prior to opening this new trucking business. i believe they already owned trucks?

I dunno... Given these are identical details to his known conviction from the 2005 criminal event, and if this was truly history repeating itself, and the ready motive, a disgruntled former employee -- I think we'd be hearing of this from MCSO and not an unnamed spokesperson!

Salgado’s criminal history involves a robbery in 2005 that led to an eight-year prison sentence.

A victim in that 2005 robbery shared his story exclusively with KSEE/KGPE.

The man, who owned a Central Valley trucking company, said Salgado worked for him for two years. After he fired Salgado, the man said, his former employee came to his home wearing a ski mask one night in December 2005.

“I went to shut the front door,” said the man, “when he pulled out a gun and held it to the back of my head.”

The homeowner said Salgado duct-taped his hands and those of his wife, his 16-year-old daughter and his daughter’s friend before he “stole all the money we had, rings, that kind of stuff.”

The man said Salgado even took the ring off of his wife’s finger before he “made the girls jump in the pool and tried to push me in the pool.”

Once in the pool, the man said, Salgado told them, “If you call the police, I will kill you,” before he walked out the front door.

The man said they did call the police and Salgado was arrested the next morning, according to the California Department of Corrections.

To see the father holding his child in his protective arms, and see the very mother that gave birth to this infant, I think this homicide was nothing if not to torture this family unit.

Was the perp or party behind this massacre hoping to send a message?

Jb Trucking USDOT 3023904 - Merced, California Trucking Company

probably not official but it states business jb trucking started 6.30.2017

IMO a background check should have shown his past convictions.

Dear @SuziQ,

Great insight.

As we know he robbed the other trucking company because they had "fired him", your idea that he was " turned down" puts his actions into that of an "injustice collector".

JMO

I was thinking that too. Injustice collector comes to mind. Many heinous crimes have been committed by injustice collectors, like Uthai Sawan, Izhevsk, Uvalde, Highland Park, Columbine, Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Dunblane, Port Arthur, Las Vegas, Isla Vista, Bath, Happyland Club Fire, Oklahoma City, and 9/11.
