I always found it fascinating that CL was ok with killing a child of his in order to keep being the father of another one.

IMO, CL's comment to EC about being worried his wife would keep him from his child was a lie; either to indicate that he couldn't possibly leave his wife for her, or to garner enough sympathy and trust from EC to lure her and eliminate what he perceived as a significant problem for his future career (and possible marriage). I find it hard to believe that his perceived future custody of his child is really why he killed EC.

My first 2 posts on Websleuths went over like lead balloons so I hesitate to post anything now. Having read here for years without posting, I am not sure if I am perceived as a troll or someone working for the defense or if my post was really that dumb. I am neither trying to troll tis thread nor am I friend, family, or employee of the defendant or his attorney. As for how dumb my posts were, only you can tell me that. Some kind of feedback besides silence would be greatly appreciated.

I should amend my earlier claim of reading along on every thread about this case. I tried to read every post but some days it was difficult to catch up. I would go to bed or be away for a day and there would be 15-20 pages of posts when I came back on! I did try though.

Enough about that and back to the case.
Has it been stated with any certainty that the entire crime occurred up at the mine shaft area? For example, is it possible she was bound & gagged or injured or immobilized immediately after getting into the vehicle with the perpetrator? An earlier post mentioning her thoughts during the 2 hour drive up to the mine got me wondering. I think even the most pleasant, quiet, non-confrontational person would have said something to complain, protest or question the need to travel so far in such harsh terrain to hunt or to "celebrate."

If any of my posts are out of line, please tell me so.

Sorry I didn't reply. Some days I just have too many cases up, too much to read and my thoughts are scattered all over the place. Usually I read and try not to post something in case I read the same thought down in the thread later. And of course, if it's not there by the time I'm done, I forgot what I was going to say. LOL I do that all the time. So I probably thought of something to reply to in one of your posts but lost my one marble I have left by the time I caught up to 3 or 4 pages.

Never did I think you were a troll or that your posts were dumb. I remember being new and posting and no one responding to my posts too. I felt the same way you did. Heck, it still gets done to me and I have over 4k posts now.

Learning that Erin hated long drives is interesting in relationship to the drive they took up to that mine shaft. (ETA:I have learned from our Verified Poster this is not true. Please disregard) I don't think we know if the whole crime happened there or if part of it happened elsewhere and that was a dump site. LE has clammed up since they arrested CL, which is usual in cases. LE will say a lot to start with to get the public awareness going, then when they are close to catching their perp, they will go silent, like they don't know nuttin, don't have nuttin, and have nuttin to tell the public, then WHAM!!! They find a body, make an arrest, then they are silent again. We are on a need to know basis here, and as far as LE is concerned, we don't need to know nuttin. :) Welcome to WS.

Never said they were. Nor do I see what I said that was so disrespectful. But I suppose it doesn't matter in the end.

I think Salem was just putting that out "in general". I don't think it was put there for anyone in particular.........

In addition to my previous post, I would like to add a thought. I think the things NL and IM said and did prior to the arrest of CL carry the most weight. It stands to reason that IM was pretty tight with the Lees. Remember what happened when the Lees pulled up to the ranch per the police. 100 new "pins" can't erase that. I know that police/ investigators/reporters can also manipulate statements to get what they need. Clearly, the person or persons that murdered Erin believed they would get away with it. We all do things we think we can get away with ie speeding. We see the cop and we slam on the brakes and when he's out of sight most of us accelerate again.

Hi All. I have been "lurking" for awhile. I had found my way to WS rather easily and read about previous cases in the past. I am sure you are all well aware of how easy it is to find your way here. I am very invested in this case. I didn't hear about it until August. I am a military spouse with an active duty husband. I moved to the high desert in July this year. I have been in the behavioral health field for many years. One of my favorite things to do is hike. My husband and I went to JTNP sometime in July and it actually gave me the creeps- I refused to hike there. I don't know why, it was before I knew about Erin. Anyway, just a little background about me:)
I felt compelled to post today after seeing comments about NLs pintrest. I have been checking her pintrest from the start. Her recent pins do not show me that she is innocent. They show me that she found her way here to WS and is trying to manipulate the thoughts of others. It is so clear- putting the same pin on several boards?!?! I have spent my career working with criminals as well as those with mental illness. I can't begin to tell you the lengths that people will go to in order to manipulate. I will not be surprised to see a champion or two for her cause show up here as well.:stop: I don't KNOW if NL is guilty of anything or not. I do believe she put that negative energy out there at the very least.
I really hope it takes more than a few "pins" to sway a jury. Let's just keep in mind she knows people are watching and she will show you what she wants you to believe.

:welcome6:

Uh oh, another peep in the "behavior health" realm!!!! :floorlaugh: I think that brings this case on the forum to 2 BH peeps? But, it does have some "players" that would be interesting in evaluating. I'm looking forward to your posts on this case as it progresses! :seeya:

Welcome to WS. You are giving interesting insight into this case. I too believe that more weight should be placed on what was said at the beginning of this case then later, when they were doing damage control.

Truthbeknown,
Thank you for joining the site! Question: Did Erin enjoy target shooting?

Erin didn't hate long drive. She hated doing the driving long distance

Yes, thanks. I read your response to that other post after I posted this, at which point I had a choice of rushing to change my post or let it go and change it when I was finished reading. As you can see, I did the later. :) I did change it though and made note that it was not a true statement based on your correction.

Thanks. I have been reluctant to post- I don't think I understand the rules 100%. I just couldn't hold back anymore.

I wondered if that was the case as I hit reply

I only recently started following this case and I am trying to catch up. Is there a summary of the facts in the case? What do we know so far?

In the beginning it was a concern. The detectives were sharing a little with us and it was being shared more than it should have been. Then the detectives were asked not share anything with us. That way it could not be shared with someone that didn't need to know.

Do we want to know more details than what we have. absolutely. We will find out in due time. We will wait patiently until the time is right. We want justice for our Erin.

I think you are very wise to be cautious and very careful what you say or post. If you found us, CL's family has too. Considering his situation, they are looking for any little nugget to deflect, or play legal games. Wise to be cautious. God Bless.

Great posts eddy!
One thing ol' CL didn't take in to consideration but should have was the "Marines" factor. They were not going to let someone mess with their own. I knew this case would get resolved, I had no doubt. Truly.

At this point, the most important thing is to get justice for Erin. Sadly, it's too late to do anything else, but as her family, the best case scenario is for the truth to come out and justice to be served. I don't know Erin but even I think that would make her smile.

Thanks. I am so glad Erin's body was found. I guess that put a major wrench in the plans:laughing::laughing:

Clearly, I do not know how to reply to people yet. That's twice now. I am hitting reply but it's not working out. Sorry guys!
