On Friday/Day 4 at the end of testimony Sanger brought up to the Judge about documents the court has maintained that the Prosecution nor the Defense has seen yet.

Then Sanger throws the ZINGER about SP.

Today/Day 6 Sanger is whining over purple ties then he has Lambert supoenaed. Sanger trying to throw the DDA off his game.

I suppose thats how it works in a Sanger defense strategy, nothing wrong with that, just seems like it doesn't move him forward to clear his client.

JMHO, Sanger probably thinks Lambert knows too much and wants to take a shot at humiliating him.

@SLOCounty_DA Office from prosecuting the case, arguing that prosecutors have a clear bias against PF, exemplified by the prosecutor and lead detective wearing purple ties. Purple was #KristinSmart's favorite color.

*Preliminary Hearing for both (Day 7) (@ 9am PT) - CA - Kristin Denise Smart (19) (missing May 25, 1996 while walking back to her dorm from a off campus frat party at Cal Poly, reported missing on May 26, 1996, San Luis Obispo, still missing) – *Paul Ruben Flores (19 @ time of crime/44) arrested & charged (4/13/21) & arraigned (4/15/21) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. No bond.
*Ruben Ricardo Flores (55 @ time of crime/80) arrested & charged (4/13/21) & arraigned (4/15/21) with accessory to murder after the fact. Plead not guilty. $250K bond. Bond was lower to $50K. Has posted bond (4/22/21), out of jail.

8/10/21 Tuesday, Day 6 of Preliminary hearing: State witnesses: Detective Clint Cole. Jeromy Moon, Paul's former friend said he noticed Paul’s black eye two days after Kristin's disappeared.

Defense attorney Sanger requested a hearing but Judge van Rooyen said he would consider once council submits written motion. Prosecution asks the judge to deny the request. The Judge also had on a purple tie today.

Lawyers for Scott Peterson are denying reports of their client’s potential participation in another case. In fact, SP's attorney hasn't even been contacted.
Defense investigator just tried to tell Lambert that he’s not allowed back inside courtroom, since he’s a potential witness. But judge says that hasn’t been decided yet. They’ll likely take that up in a few minutes.
Judge van Rooyen declines to bar Lambert from the courtroom. “Just because he’s been served doesn’t necessarily mean he should be excluded,” van Rooyen said. “I’m not going to exclude a member of the media (for doing their jobs).”
Preliminary hearing continues on 8/11/21. No court on Fridays.
 
Kristin Smart case: “Your Own Backyard” podcaster called to testify; still allowed in court as media

Chris Lambert, the creator of the podcast “Your Own Backyard,” was called to testify in the preliminary hearing with Sanger saying Lambert had talked to several witnesses before their interviews with law enforcement.

Ramona Messina, a defense investigator, served Lambert with a subpoena about 10 minutes before the afternoon session began. Lambert has been in the courtroom, as a member of the media, covering the hearing for his podcast.

Other witnesses have not been allowed in the courtroom until their testimony to prevent bias, but the judge said that there are exceptions.

“Just because [Lambert] has been served does not necessarily mean he should be excluded,” van Rooyen said. The judge also added that he wouldn’t exclude a member of the media for doing their job.

Pretty slow morning so far in #KristinSmart prelim Day 7. Morning spent cross examining a cadaver dog handler about her and her dog’s training and certification (during the 1996 search of Flores’ dorm room)
 
I'm sorry but is Paul & Ruben's attorney certifiably insane?? The purple ties... the SCOTT PETERSON STUFF... I am blown away by how nonsensical this garbage is. He wants to distract the jury but I'm pretty sure none of this is enough of a distraction to get away from the fact that (in my opinion) it is obvious beyond a reasonable doubt what occurred that night and where her body was transferred to.

Morris was questioned by Mesick about her formal education, her training methods of Cholla her dog, what contaminates crimes scenes, false positives stats in cadaver dogs. Judge Van Rooyen asked Morris about Cholla’s reliability in which she confirmed through extensive training.
