Oh my gosh, welcome back (is twitching and spasming from lack of WS)
Two more girls. Same profile as Maricela and Elaine. No media or links so can't back them up, but they're there. Some amateur modeling and one of them (you will never believe me) went with two Hispanic women that she knew. The friend now believes those women are keeping her hostage and forcing her into prostitution.
I'm telling you. Despite what I know, I am still feeling HT with Maricela.

I've been trying to think of scenarios where the family would feel compelled to cover up that she knew the Church and the area. My best guess is some kind of drug deal.

Also, maybe they need people to be certain it was an abduction. They don't want anyone to think it might be voluntary. So making it a random stop in unknown territory makes it less likely she took off on her own right then.

Agreed. Seems plausible that they know she was involved in something bad, but don' t want to give details that might incriminate her later. So they changed the story to try to convey the idea that she was kidnapped without filling in those details. Still, I would be skeptical of everything they said at this point. Lots of this stuff may have been made up as part of the cover up (the Postmates deliveries, MG supposedly not using her phone all day, MG saying she was going for a smoke, etc.).

I don't find that too unusual. I've looked up directions before only to realize I've been to the area before and knew landmarks there. And, had the GPS shown the businesses I was familiar with, it would have been much easier to locate the business I was going to but wasn't familiar with.

There's definitely a common element here. Something's up, and these kidnappings are coming more frequently in that area. I feel like there's a lot linked and Mari is one of many.

Part of me feels like this sudden rush of abductions will stop right after Super Bowl.

I doubt they used the GPS to get there. Whatever bad things she was involved with, I really just hope the family is being honest with law enforcement at this point.

Katydid, about the two girls. They are on the state missing page. Both from January, but from Stockton (which is in between Redding and LA). The family of one girl had reached out to me on FB, that is how I got the info about the two women. I am supposed to talk to her mom today when I have a minute for more info. There is a police report but no media, so I can't even start a thread unless a family/friend agrees to come here (and you see how well that turned out last time lol)

Some things I saw on tv: some of the trafficked females will not have their faces shown because they are passed out, so look for body shots of them lYing down...omg wait a minute, there's a trafficking app thing for motel rooms (not sure how that would help here but wow I forgot about that). If she's being trafficked truck stops could also be a place.

Eta: I recall a case on TV where a brave young lady, teen iirc, came fwd and talked about her trafficking ordeal, so she can help others. A woman befriended her online, then snatched her w her boyfriend, they threw her in a trunk, took her to a motel, drugged her up, photographed her, then pimped her out at truck stops. Through resilient LE who checked BP on a hunch due to a big sporting game in TX, they rescued her, iirc...poor girl was still so scared when LE found her that when they asked her her name, she gave them the new name her traffickers had given her.

We DEFINITELY thought the person(s) might attend, which is why we did that. At this point, I haven't found anything to indicate that THESE PARTICULAR friends have anything to do with her disappearance.
There is other questionable activity.

When the Olympics came to Atlanta GA, all the local Atlantic city NJ pimps and escorts made their way to Atlanta. They go where the money is or where the people are. So it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that traffickers are making their way to the Superbowl so their girls can work.
It'll be interesting to see how many girls are located- rescued immediately after.
