I don't know how in depth NCIS would go. Perhaps they'll end their investigation at making sure the information she had access to is secure and that there's no evidence her disappearance had anything to do with her knowledge of any classified info, and then end it there. I don't know for sure, of course. Just speculating.

I doubt it.
I think they will show up

It seems like a good time to learn something about this agency. They would have to justify the depth of their investigation, IMO. Neither MM or LM is active military. They'd be involved because Maya is a Defense Contractor.

WHAT WE DO
Our strategic goals are and will remain consistent: prevent terrorism, protect secrets and reduce crime.

About NCIS here:
> About NCIS (navy.mil)
..."Within the Department of the Navy, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service is the civilian federal law enforcement agency uniquely responsible for investigating felony crime, preventing terrorism and protecting secrets for the Navy and Marine Corps.

NCIS will defeat threats from across the foreign intelligence, terrorist and criminal spectrum by conducting operations and investigations ashore, afloat, and in cyberspace, in order to protect and preserve the superiority of the Navy and Marine Corps warfighters.

Comprised of about 2,000 personnel, with more than 1,000 serving as federal Special Agents, NCIS is unique among U.S. military criminal investigative organizations as it is a civilian-ran agency and is headed by a civilian law enforcement professional who reports directly to the Secretary of the Navy...."

But Maya is a civilian contractor and her husband is ex-military. Surely NCIS jurisdiction is limited only to Navy business, and no further.

There's no reason why civilian police can't conduct the investigation that results in the perpetrator being brought to justice in this case IMO.

Who cares if he’s EX military
SHE currently worked for them
She is no longer “””findable”””
I would hope that would be their business

MOO

Here's my own thoughts and MOO.
It may be limited, but a parallel investigation done by NCIS is a bonus, and added resources. I think it'd help if NCIS worked together with CVPD and both shared some of their findings. NCIS can probably get around easier with military protocol investigating her defense job

Imagine if NCIS were to investigate Maya's disappearance by interviewing all of Maya's coworkers and bosses, looking through all her contracts and contacts, and to do a thorough tracing of her phone records, tower pings, plus digging into everything on her work & home computers, and then shared it with CVPD it'd be quite useful. JMO tho'.

MOO: Their special agents would definitely be looking at more than just Navy business. NCIS has jurisdiction in several areas, and LM and MM would qualify as “affiliated civilian personnel”. Source-personal experience and link below.

> About NCIS > Core Mission Areas > Criminal Investigations
They would certainly investigate whether any sensitive information May was working on was compromised. Unlikely, but yes, they would investigate that IWT.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I watched the show. They did discuss something I brought up before when I was talking about Maya's VPN work line. I had asked if there would be a separate investigation because she was a Defense Contractor. Yes, they confirmed that there was probably another investigation going on through the NCIS. (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) I think it's because Maya worked with military contracts, they'd have to consider any connection of that to her disappearance. The show's panel said LM probably didn't think of that.
May was not a defense contractor. She was a civilian in DOD government federal service as a contract specialist who worked on defense contracts.

Well, I'm not making up stuff. You need to go correct the publications that printed it. The newspapers printed her title. She may be a civilian, but she works with defense contracts. Get it? Yes, she is a Contract Specialist.

“Defense contractor” implies she works for a civilian company and is contracted by the DOD. She is a civil servant, and employed directly by the DOD. IMO, NCIS would be more inclined to investigate a missing DOD employee over a private citizen who happens to be employed by someone contracted with the DOD.

They are about to go over Larry's statement on Chris M's show, for whoever is interested. It's live now:

She has a job with the federal govt. and what LM might not have been anticipating is that there is a parallel investigation taking place with NCIS. (Whoopsie.)

NCIS link for convenience -- Home (navy.mil)

Well, I disagree. It's not just me who believes NCIS will be involved. I've been posting links to support everything I discuss. Watch the video in the quote above where some LE experts confirm that NCIS will probably have a parallel investigation.

Just because she's civilian doesn't mean she wasn't privy to sensitive info. MOO, someone having access to military contracts and may work on a military base is of interest to NCIS. Now, I've said their investigation may be limited and they'd have to justify the depth of the investigation. So, we may somewhat agree. However, I don't want to nitpick this further.

Imperial County Sand Dunes Search yields no answers in missing mom case (10news.com)

"The family of Maya Millete spent the weekend searching the sand dunes in Glamis in Imperial County. They searched by helicopter and ATV but did not come up with any leads."

[...] "Drouaillet says the last time she saw her sister was when they went camping at the dunes for the New Year holiday."

[...] "According to police, Maya's husband, Larry Millete, last saw her at their home in Chula Vista on January 7th."

"Police have not said if a search warrant executed at the home turned up any evidence."

Glamis is roughly two and a half hours away from San Diego. Her family says the 39-year-old mother of three loves going there to ride quads or her dirt bike.

"It just felt like a little grain in the sand, the sand is huge, and you know, I felt like helpless," said Maya's sister, Maricris Drouaillet.

"We just want to keep on searching and searching we don't want any stones unturned, it's one of those, it's a shooting in the sky type of thing," said Drouaillet.

The family has hired a private investigator.

"Every day that goes by, it's very agony, that we don't have answers, we don't have a lead. The detectives are still in the same place, that we were in a month and a half ago, that's the scariest part, we don't want this case to become a cold case," said Richard Drouaillet.

Detectives have said the couple has marital problems and that they had no leads or any indication of foul play.

"We always say we can move mountains and we believe in miracles," said Maricris. bbm

So I had seen this on socials but if I understand the rules correctly we're not allowed to directly reference information gained from them (?)...

However new CourtTV interview with Maricris (sister) confirms that all the family members have been blocked from MM's Facebook page since she went missing. Who did this? Who has access to MM's facebook page?

She also confirms the family have not spoken to the children in two weeks. Not since LM retained a lawyer. This is really concerning.

Maricris was asked if they had looked into a potential stalker, by reviewing CCTV from places MM visited, or checked for some unusual activity on her FB page, such as 'likes' from unknown persons.

In answer, she said they hadn't even considered that there could be a stalker. I find this interesting - not considering possibilities. Leads me to believe they're quite confident in the theory that they do believe.

Of course, now they've been blocked from MM's page, they won't be able to do this. Could this be the motivation for blocking, or is this just another way to disconnect from MM's family.

Can't imagine being that family with so little information after so long. Really hope they get answers soon.

You can block someone on FB so that can't even find, let alone see your page.

But is that what they actually meant? When did they get blocked?

Were they blocked from Maya’s account, so they can’t see her profile and its contents?

They did somehow have access to her Facebook account by having her login information and that information was changed, thus they no longer have that access?

Or, where they blocked for the Missing page and now can’t post anymore on there?

Per Maricris, May's sister, at some point over the last couple weeks, they were removed and/or blocked from her personal FB page so they can no longer view anything. It apparently happened to many family members, and pictures were removed or had access restricted. :(
