I literally cried when I read this news. The condition of the 9 year old girl is horrific. I don't even want to know how those little ones died! It must have been so painful. How could they give those children to a person with a history of child abuse and drug abuse charges?

I hope those babies are in their mother's arms in Heaven. They lost their mother and then were tortured to death. How will the 9 year old ever be okay? Physically and emotionally? Poor, poor little girl!

Children's pictures. There's also a picture of Curiel and another of the 4-runner.

Action News Now has learned the children are 3-year-old Delylah Tara and 6-year-old Shaun Tara. According to the San Bernardino County Sentinel, their mother, Vivian Saucedo was killed in a traffic accident two years ago.

Here is Vivian's facebook with beautiful pictures of the children https://www.facebook.com/vivian.saucedo.564?fref=ts

So is the 17 year old boyfriend in trouble for the other 2 kids as well? Or just the one in critical?

Also. Is he slow like the guy who killed Deedee for Gypsy?

Just asking since it seems like the mom is 22 years his senior with enough kids under the belt and he is only 17 or 19.

Hi Dex. Good questions. I don't think either one of them has been charged for the two dead children yet. The autopsies will be tomorrow and that should determine COD and MOD. I'm sure there will be charges. He is the one who told LE the little kids were in the storage unit, so he has knowledge. I don't think we know if he is mentally slow or not yet. We don't know much about him. TH has a checkered past though...a disgusting present...and a LWOP future I hope.

What is a death report? Is that the death certificate?

Monterey County Social Services Director Elliott Robinson told the Associated Press that his office had investigated Huntsman and her family within the last year for general neglect. It’s unclear where the children found in the Redding storage unit died, but Robinson’s office filed the death reports for the two children.

“I don’t understand why anybody would do this to these innocent children,” the children’s aunt Jayne Orr said.

Orr said two years ago before their mother’s death, she used to see the kids every day, but it’s been a nightmare trying to contact Huntsman.

Why did the children's father choose HER as the caretaker of these sweet babies? I assume he didn't know her true nature---or did he? I cannot imagine he did.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around these two traveling with 11-12 year old twins, a 9 yo, 6 yo and a 3 yo around northern CA after Thanksgiving. That's five kids, three of whom are siblings. Two end up dead and one severely abused. When did all this happen? Partly in Salinas and partly up north? Is that why they left Salinas, because Children's Services was closing in? Was the 9 yo trying to protect her younger siblings or was she just stronger so didn't die? The twins (children of Tami) had to see what was going on and be afraid it would happen to them. They must be traumatized! I can't begin to understand how these creeps could hurt these poor little kids who had lost their mother. Meth? That's all I can come up with.

Huntsman is reportedly the biological mother of the twins. She is the 9-year-old girl's aunt, but reportedly became her guardian after the girl's mother died two years ago.

After contacting a Huntsman family member in Salinas, investigators were told two younger children were not accounted for. It was unclear if those children were related to Huntsman.

Investigators questioned Huntsman about the missing children, but she was not cooperative. They also questioned Curiel, who was being held at the Butte County Juvenile Detention Center.

That's when Curiel reportedly pointed authorities toward the Redding storage unit.

“This is a very fluid, complicated and ongoing case stemming from what appears to be a series of horrific acts,” said David Hollister, the district attorney in Plumas County, where the couple has lived.

"When you see what has been done to a beautiful little 9-year-old girl," Sheriff Hagwood told the Sacramento Bee before pausing to fight back tears. "Anyone not affected needs to get some help."
But the horrific discovery was just the beginning.

I truly feel for LE. In one of the earlier linked articles, he spoke of how some of them will need leave because of the horrific state of the surviving victim.

Absolute scum of the earth...

Truly sickening .

UGH! I can't even!! :rose: RIP sweet children :rose:

Trying to find some background on this:

Huntsman is a relative of the two homicide victims but not their mother. Her Facebook page lists her work as "Being the Best Mom I Can Be."

When Huntsman, Curiel, and the young children moved from Salinas to a friend's house in Quincy, Calif., Plumas County Child Protective Services alerted the sheriff because agents found a tortured 9-year-old girl. The girl was starving and dying.

Social services had investigated Huntsman and her family within the last year for general neglect.

Robinson's Monterey County office filed death reports for the two children, indicating that the kids may have died in Salinas.

Redding is about 300 miles north of Salinas, and 140 miles northwest of Quincy.

The two homicide victims and the abused 9-year-old girl were siblings. Friends said Huntsman was caring for the children who were slain because their mother died after she was struck by a car while walking, and the father gave up custody.

Huntsman's 12-year-old twins were taken by Child Protective Services agents when she was arrested.

Curiel and Huntsman remain jailed with bail set at $1 million each. Curiel will be tried as an adult. Curiel tipped off investigators that they would find the missing children's bodies in the storage locker.

Tami Huntsman and her brother, Wayne Huntsman, grew up in Santa Cruz. Wayne Huntsman is currently in prison and accused of intentionally igniting a massive wildfire in a national forest. The King Fire scorched 120 square miles and 12 homes before firefighters contained it last fall. The King Fire cost $5 million a day to fight. KSBW interviewed Tami Huntsman shortly after her brother was arrested. At the time, she requested they not show her face on TV, and she went by the name Tami Criswell.

Nice to see CA has torture laws. Broken bones, burns, and very low weights should be considered torture, not just 'abuse'.

I think we will find that the 17 yo didn't have a great childhood. His eyes don't express anything.

Why is this even possible? I don't understand why DHS isn't nationwide with all counties having access to each abused child's background.

The couple shared a Salinas apartment until Nov. 27, when they drove north to Redding, Shingletown and then Quincy, according to police.

Huntsman began renting the Redding storage unit Dec. 4 before heading to Quincy, according to the Plumas News.

This is going to be a complex case because of the movement involved. LE is scrambling to find out when the two children from the storage unit were seen alive. Seems like from teh above they either left Salinas alive and died during the transient moves between Salinas, Redding, Shingletown and Quincy.

You have to wonder if the storage unit was rented 12-4 in order to specifically hide or leave the bodies behind because they died while in the Redding area. Otherwise the children, already deceased, were transported in the totes along the way until reaching Redding and then left behind at the storage unit.

Autopsy should shed some light on just how long ago these poor little ones were killed.
