He would be in town to make the delivery. Having some alleged rich person going to meet criminals is just asking for serious trouble. It would be an extremely dangerous situation that aside from kidnapping the donor could result in injury or death by having someone both inexperienced and rich schedule to discretely meet with violent money-hungry criminals. The money was specifically supposed to be in CG's hands for any delivery: "I have the cash ready to give to my negotiator 24/7 as soon as you reach out to him using the contact information below."

The big deal about the donor being in town was that once they left the offer expired: "Once I leave town this offer is off the table."

That last line really is hilarious .. reminds me of Blazing saddles when the sheriff was holding the gun to his own head.

this is far left out there thinking likely, but I effectively have a brand, never thought of it as more than a scar. it is from a welding accident. while using a arc welder my watch band was struck and left the print of the back of the watch on my arm in great detail. haven't given it much thought in 20+ years but laying awake a couple nights ago I noticed it and thought back to the day it happened. welders give off lots of sparks and can leave burns that very much look like a rash, and if I understand SP was said to have burns and a rash. as I was thinking about day of my accident I recalled the way my spouse looked, looking at someone wearing a welding helmet with a auto darking lens you can see the eyes and the eyebrows and their hair but no other facial features. so likely is far out there thinking but thought I would share my thoughts.

Honestly? Those published exchanges or communications served a purpose on this case. They seem confusing because they were not addressed to the general public.

The MESSAGE intended was DELIVERED. PUZZLED solved and deal completed.

The fact that no arrest has been made, does not mean that LE is clueless.
I have faith this will be solved, soon. A numbers cruncher found the trail that lead to Capone's downfall. Modern technology facilitates a paperless trail, but the virtual trail is still a trail.

If LE is worth their salt, they'd get a warrant for his cell phone and see just where it pinged over those three weeks.

His wife, in response to the Searchlight article and comments said that the "ransom phone" only got scam calls from the Searchlight. I'm thinking that the "ransom phone" was a burner phone. (JG never did say if there were other calls to the ransom phone...just was chastising Searchlight....) So, was the whole family out of town or just CG? Did he leave the ransom phone with JG? All quite foggy. JMO

Also to this day CG is still falsely advertising to get donations from people from Bethel. The Gambles themselves disproved this claim: "Cameron has been training the U.S. Military Special Ops community since shortly after September 11, 2001 on survival tactics."

I'm not debating how well the tip was investigated, it's obvious that many officers responded. I'm just wondering if the report ended up carrying any weight/legitimacy or was possibly even still being examined.

Similar to yesterday, I'm not questioning anything to do with the legitimacy or investigative aspects pertaining to this PR.

What I did though, was compare the two police reports. I found a common link in suspect licence plate numbers. Below, you will see three plates which are identical from each case, with two new plate numbers appearing on the 11-13-16 PR. Are we to assume this is an "all incidents" file? Whereas two new plates were added to the 11-13-16 report bringing the total to five suspect plates? OR were the same three plates generated from two different sources? Obviously these plates have been researched by the Investigators. I'm not familiar with licence plate sleuthing known suspected licence plates, but as the police report is public information and these listed licence plates are suspected vehicles, is there anything worthwhile here?

AFAIK Bitcoins don't need to be exchange to local currency or moved to an offshore account in order to use it. It's a virtual bank, with plenty of acceptance for all kind of transactions. You can save it, expend it, trade it, collect it, etc. Virtual wallet.

Members may sleuth CG as it relates to his professional capacity as a negotiator, but you may not sleuth him personally (i.e. what does he eat for breakfast , what his finances are, etc.) Sometimes when members are sleuthing behind the scenes, they find personal information that they think could be related, but unless a person is officially named a POI or suspect, we can't post about it on the board.

Just continue sleuthing and tuck personal info away in those fabulous brains for future reference but NOT on the board. If members find something so significant it can't be ignored, then perhaps a tip to LE is in order.

IF/when an individual is officially named a POI or suspect by LE, those parameters change.

AD said HE would be going back out of town soon, but CG later, during the 20/20 interview, said he was out of town for most of the duration of SP's kidnapping.

He can negotiate via phone or Skype, right? ;-)

What I got from the VI's posts was:

1. SP was abducted by two Hispanic women and did not mislead investigators about this, and has shared all the information she can recall with LE
2. CG, LJ etc were just trying to help the family and were not involved in anything nefarious
3. ST is the probable motive
4. A ransom/ reward was not paid
5. Look for two Hispanic women with a history of kidnapping people

Thank you Corey! Been missing chatting with all of you too! Got double pneumonia and as of last night, all the coughing has done something to my gall bladder. Ugh! It's not easing off either so I feel an ER visit in the next 12hours coming on. Yay!..not!

If this had been discussed much, I've somehow missed it. Cell tower data. SP's phone was left by the mailboxes. If this was the abduction location and there was another phone belonging to an abductor, they should be able to get dump from the nearest tower and then get another dump from the tower nearest the drop-off point on Thanksgiving.

If the perp had the same phone with them both times, there should be a match.

I usually keep up pretty well but must have missed something since yesterday. Lake16 left? That makes me a little sad, if so, but I wouldn't blame them. I agree being here as VI has been a gift.

Edited to add that I found Lake's post. Thing's should never have gotten to the point they did. What a loss. Thank you Lake16 for all you've done, you'll be missed.
