This article says Summers' age is 32. How hard can it be to get his age correct at this point?

And this one says he's BOTH 30 and 32:
The 30-year-old transient was also charged with kidnapping someone under 14 and burglary, the office said. An alleged accomplice, Daniel Martinez, ...

... was expected to be arraigned in court after he was arrested over the weekend and charged with kidnapping someone younger than 14 and burglary, the office said.

Prosecutors planned to ask for $150,000 bail in his case. He could face 12 years behind bars if successfully prosecuted.

They say Martinez was the wheel man in the crime:

Martinez was allegedly waiting in a car outside a Northridge residence when co-defendant Tobias Summers, 32 (dob 11-30-80), allegedly emerged from the house with the 10-year-old victim. Martinez allegedly drove a short way before leaving the car.

I am going to read this charging document now. Normally I am not " faint of heart" ... But I am already sad and furious. If y'all hear some loud screams and cursing in the next few mins it is probably me.

In what little we saw from the news the day she was found, she was doing remarkably well all things considered :( Poor little girl, who's no longer a little girl!
 
They will charge him with everything they possibly can to ensure that he NEVER sees the light of day again.

If I read it right, he also used a camera.

I'm seething and hysterical about this . I just thought I knew what it was and it was bad enough but it was nowhere near what I thought it was .

Though TS apparently has a penchant for reporting different birthdates (social media as well), somewhere there is a birth certificate (you'd think). I'm sure his mother knows when he was born. It is something that can be looked up/verified.

It's in the charging document near the end right before the last long list of charges. 11/30/1980. He's 32. Will turn 33 in November. Well assuming that document is correct.

I would think it'd have had to have been TS. (If DM was no longer in the picture and there was no one else involved.) I have kinda thought that all along--that TS dropped her off. This apparently was his first escalation (though severe), and he'd done this just hours after meeting with his parole officer. I have to wonder if he fell off the wagon after the meeting, got high on meth or crack, and completely went berserck after going 'straight' for several months. If so, it could be that he felt some sort of remorse when he 'came to' and came off the high--enough to release her, at least, in front of a hospital.

Yes, thanks, and that was what was quoted in that news article. Problem is, prison officials have also listed his bday as a different year...it amazes me that they can't seem to verify or get it correct the first couple times around.

*(But hey, I'm probably just being fussy.) ;)

Wow. they are throwing the book at this guy and no one deserves it more based on the allegations in the charging docs.

Thankfully, the charging doc is very clinical and the immediacy of the horrors this poor girl endured are couched in the legaleese. Made for easier reading.

I have not followed this case as closely as I would have liked. Work is hectic and kids are off school on spring break. Have you guys figured out how he came to target N? TIA
 
tlcya, LE says they can't find any connection. Family and girl don't know them.

ETA - similarities to our little sweetie in Philadelphia. Even the same initials.
