Holy moly. This is quite the internet presence that this couple has. Kathryn has so many things going on. Has anyone found that she has a current real estate license? With the market as it is right now here in Calgary, I find it interesting and curious that a realtor would have time to have so many other business interests going on at the same time.

I hesitate to say it, but, Kathryn's Internet presence is almost spammy.

There are so many companies, phone numbers, addresses and locations associated with her without 'real' substance, and so many domain names associated, that any other time, I would judge as a fraudster.

Alvin does NOT have the same Internet presence, and seems to have established himself solidly in the oil and gas sector, which, as has been mentioned, is absolutely through the moon with the Oilsands developments in AB currently.

Just trying to shed some possible angles for motive. After the horrific Timothy Bosma Kijiji murder in Ontario last year, and the ever present memory of Lyle and Marie McCann, still missing and presumed murdered from Alberta, and the horrific murder of Lyndsay Buziak in Victoria that remains unsolved, it is easy to run many scenarios in my mind.

REALLY hoping for a positive outcome here. :please:

I can't quite correlate where the Liknes' home is in this overhead shot from the helicopter, but, it shows the park and tennis courts, which is likely Stanley Park located near their home.

If anyone can figure out where the Liknes' home is in relation to this picture, please tell me and I will circle it.

Thanks

It is the house with the white van in between the house and the tennis courts. The grass is their yard and the white shed/garage to the right in the photo is theirs.

If the perp was there for Nathan, would he also take the grandparents? We've seen family killed, and kids taken, but have we seen adults taken by sexual predators targeting kids?

Something tells me this definitely has to do with the estate sale, in a robbery sense, perhaps ransom. Curious about the ME being there. Perhaps some evidence was left behind...blood, hair, skin, bodily fluids?

It's the one with the white van parked in front (to the left of the house) - garage on the right of it

Thanks, Hollye, you are a gem.

Here is the updated map. Link below referencing the Parkhill Casino Fundraiser that the Liknes helped raise over 100 thousand dollars to build the tennis court behind their house, from Alberta Lotteries.

Thank you wondergirl!

Looks like the house can be approached - and exited - easily from the back.

Well that is odd....where is grandma then ?

I'm hoping this has something to do with an independent witness (neighbour) seeing just Nathan and Alvin at the park. It seems like only Nathan's mom saw grandma (in pajamas) when she dropped Nathan off.

And, now that I see more of the neighborhood - this is a significant piece of Calgary property. I wouldn't be surpised if it sold for more in the high 800s, low 900s. There are several in fills in the immediate area, as someone mentioned earlier (buy a house, tear it down and subdivide the lot. $$$).

Homeless person attacked woman at Parkhill Stanley Park, this written account from February 2013.

What other crimes occur in this area?

Is it still under heavy construction?

Resident Message about Walking Incident
Tuesday, February 05, 2013

At approximately 1:40 pm, Wednesday January 30, in broad daylight, I was walking alone with my dog on 1 A Street S.W. in Parkhill when I was violently threatened and screamed at by a scruffy homeless- looking male in a hoodie. I crossed the street to avoid him but he crossed over the street to confront me to continue screaming obscenities and menacingly shaking his fist at me. I ran away as fast as I could and hid in the alcove of a nearby garage and phoned 911. No police came to my rescue and I waited until I could no longer see the man and then walked, still terrified and upset from the the ordeal, the half-hour to return to my home.

The police came to my residence nearly an hour after the event. I was disappointed that the opportunity had long been missed for the police to look for the perpetrator. The policeman brushed it off as just a normal thing as Calgary has lots of homeless and mentally ill people on the streets. I don't accept that it is okay for citizens to be terrorized by these individuals. It was a terrifying experience, unprovoked and may partially explain why calgary ranks so low on the walkability scale. I will not go near Stanley Park or Parkhill again for my dog walks and will continue to take my cellphone with me. Calgary does not feel safe anymore.

There is a halfway house that was proposed to be relocated close-by in 2012 - is it there? I am sure LE is on this.

Bedford House- 125-160 federal offenders will call it home each year.

Halfway House - More Details

Many residents of communities surrounding Stanley Park are concerned about the halfway house facility proposed for the Manchester area. The site at 4444 Builders Road is three blocks from our communities and only four blocks from Stanley Park itself.

The Bedford House is home to federal offenders on conditional release from penitentiaries including murderers, rapists and paedophiles. In previous years approximately 25% of the residents at Calgary John Howard Society's (CJHS) Bedford House have been federally convicted sex offenders, including pedophiles. Residents certainly have strict conditions placed on their parole or statutory release, particularly in the case of pedophiles. These conditions are relaxed as time lapses and they show progress. However, just as they violated the laws of Canada they may just as easily violate these conditions. Many halfway houses throughout Canada have policies in place that exclude sex offenders from been accepted to their facilities. The CJHS has stated that they are not willing to consider such an exclusionary policy for Bedford House.

Google satellite view shows a large forested area (Elbow River Pathway) about 4/5 houses west of the Liknes' home (A). Elbow River is on the extreme left:

ETA: That "A" is in the wrong place .. it's the house across the street from the "A" with the tennis courts and the park behind it.

So, are the recycling bins all put in one spot for the neighborhood, because it was pick-up day?

How close to their house are these bins?

Do drifters search the bins for cans to take back for money?

It looks like police rounded up all the bins in the neighbourhood and put them in one place to examine them. Normally they would be put at the curb in front of each house on pick up day.
