Police officer walks back toward open garage where other officers carefully examining every item inside

That would seem to be KL's car, so IMO it seems AL's truck was taken for a specific reason, not just inspecting family vehicles in general.

Items searched in garage include clothes, cardboard boxes, coolers, fire extinguisher, wood piece, paint pails, aerosol spray cans, etc.

Some items are examined, then returned to where they were originally found. Others are being added to a growing pile on the garage floor.

@CalgaryPolice really meant it when they said they weren't leaving any stone unturned. Literally every garage item being examined carefully

One of the officers used a flashlight to take a closer look at something on the garage wall. Every inch under scrutiny. #amberalert

I wonder, are they looking for blood spatter in the garage?

Sorry if this has been answered before but was the Liknes house locked when JO arrived at 10 am Monday June 30 2014? Was JO able to get into the house at that time?

I asked but no-one answered. So I assume we don't know the answer. Quite germane to the situation I think.

Since DG's company deal with Mercury, my question: If one ingests mercury and dies, would there be bleeding or not? Or generally, what's a way to kill someone with the least bleeding?

By going back and looking in garbage bins in the home and at landfills where their previous garbage would have been dumped, I think they are also looking for clues from a period of time before the night in question.

I have been doing a lot of reading on mercury today and have seen nothing indicating bleeding. I think that might have been an initial injury necessary to overpower AL....IMO.

Here is some interesting stuff tho....BBM

http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1175560-overview

Mercury has 3 forms: (1) elemental mercury, (2) inorganic salts, and (3) organic compounds.

DG's company was listed as specializing in Mercury and Sodium.

Mercury can also be found in fungicides used in the agricultural industry.

DG lived on a farm.

Severe poisoning eventually causes the patient to lie in a mute, semirigid posture that is broken only by episodes of crying or primitive reflexive movements.

I recall discussion about mud on the truck so maybe testing that for isotope analysis?

It's kind of odd to me for them to leave the other vehicle there. How can they be so sure that one does not have evidence in it?

In my defense I did say it was out there and a bit over the op but yeah why not. Criminals don't come
with age limits. My husband watches a stupid show about rednecks who make moonshine in the woods, gangs do wear colors and symbols for easy identification. Just brainstorming.....
lmfao my husband watches this show.....I laughed so hard when I read that. Definitely a stupid show

But where was KL car during the initial reports? I do not recall seeing a car in the driveway.

I was just going through KL's FB photos and it shows DG's sister and AL's twin brother as owning a condo in Mexico. I wonder if this is the same condo that KL and AL "purchased"?

Me neither but now I am thinking it was in the garage and it was backed out today so they could search. So far I haven't seen inside the garage to know if cars were kept there or not.

Questions:

Did anyone contact the reporter Francis Silvaggio of Global National news re: accuracy of the footage from July 7 newscast of the green truck?

Did Global news have the inside edge on reporting this footage from making deal with LE?

Example: Police have POI in mind and already know about the green truck via tips. Global news is asked by police on July 2nd or 3rd to fly over the G's farm/surrounding area in their media helicopter to see if they can observe a green truck on the premises. In return, Global National can use the footage on Monday July 7th newscast. The Global news helicopter flies all over Calgary and surrounding areas at least 2 times a day for a couple of hours at a time. If it was seen in the sky by an Airdrie resident at that time they wouldn't think twice about it especially because Airdrie had yet to be in the news on those dates.

This buys the police some time, allows them to arrest DG, secure the G property for search and impound truck and take away.

If the Hawcs Police helicopter however had been buzzing around the G property on July 2 or 3rd , several people in Airdrie would/may take notice including anyone on the G farm.

------------------------------------
Did JO call 911 at 10 am? Did she call anyone else first, like her husband? Did RO rush over? Did she stay at house or run to a neighbour's house? How many people/who was at house when police arrived?

Example: If she called her husband first, he could have said call 911 and get out of there, I'm coming right over.
As JO is 33 and AL and KL lived in that house for 17 years it is entirely possible she has lived in that house and may know an old time neighbour very well enough to run over after and call from there. The neighbour may even have gone over and checked the house themselves. If this happened LE could have told the neighbour to keep quiet about what they know.

Did CL brother of AL go through the house with police when he arrived unannounced at 12?

---------------------------------------

The recent Lake Bonavista murders had a very contaminated crime scene as the initial call was for carbon monoxide poisoning and the scene wasn't secured until about 12 hours later after many people had traipsed through.

In the Parkhill case the Amber Alert was issued around 5 pm. How quickly was the scene secured as a crime scene? How many hours before the Amber Alert was issued was it secured?

You could contact the reporter but other than the visual implication, I don't think the story actually said "here's the truck!" just that it showed a truck during the flyover.

As for Calgary Police making deals to use news chopper, they have no need since they already have their own highly advanced chopper. They also wouldn't be able to permit or forbid Global from airing any footage or story they want.

The timing and other factors seem to make it clear the global footage isn't the suspect truck.

The seventh picture from this twitter site shows the dark mark on the garage.

The mark appears to be on the left hand side of the garage door.
