Hardly seems like a reason for murder/suicide.

Perhaps Canada's laws, like England's, are much more strict in this area than the US. Most developed countries take a dimmer view of political corruption than the US. The US used to be more strict, but the laws have been relaxed so much, they're nearly non-existent here.

Mr. Barry could have had some cause for concern, especially if it also affected Mr. Trudeau.

If this was in fact a double murder of an Uber wealthy Jewish couple with elite level corporate and political ties and they were being protested by Israeli supporters..... the sky is the limit as to a possible motive...

If it is corruption why would Sherman initiate civil action when there is no criminal,proceeding? Seems like letting it lie would make more sense.

thinking about the camera disconnected at the pool... He probably didn't want to subject his family to a video recording of this act. As for a professional hit, never heard of a case where they would go to these lengths to murder 2 people. Professional hit to me is back of head no fingerprints no dna. If they wanted to make a statement or message they would have left them in a mess like the Cartels or Mobs do. IMO

Very good points. Even though I’m still on the fence, Occam’s Razor would seem to indicate that the simplest answer is murder-suicide meant to look like a double suicide. I have trouble with a murder/hit being this complicated. If more facts come out I may change my mind. But I suspect an argument got out of hand, Sunny was injured nearly fatally. Barry didn’t want to face the consequences and staged a “double suicide” in which Sunny actually did die from ligature/hanging. If it happened this way, I suspect he was hoping no one would think it was other than a double suicide. There are a lot of loose ends in my theory, but I have trouble with a murderer going to all this trouble and risking DNA or other evidence being found. JMO for now.

In the US, business leaders who have vested interests of one kind or another hold fundraisers for politicians all the time, to the tune of billions of dollars every year. Sadly, it is commonplace in the US, though it used to be illegal.

Then there are the events with huge "speaking fees" for politicians. That used to be illegal, too.

this is absolutely zero chance that they were murdered by jewish/israeli protester types. none whatsoever. perhaps anti-israeli types but i'd think they'd have made it very well known afterwards intentionally or not... note: basically justin trudeau isn't hawkish on israel whereas harper and trump were/are. that's the reason for the protests when sherman hosted justin.

i see there's now a story on the wire about apotex/sherman and lobbying problems. but it doesn't seem criminal in nature (i'm not sure about that though) and it's all pretty minor

lobbying misconduct is really penny ante stuff...................... and he was very familiar with litigation. in fact, litigation and the threat of it is ultimately probably generic drug manufacturers ultimate value-add. all kinds of people can manufacture the drugs fairly cheaply

one thing about staging it as double murder by outsider is i would think suicide would make it such that you might not able to be buried in sacred spot........... for that and other reasons, don't think you'll hear much more until the burial takes place late this week.

JMO It can be a professional hit because if you wanted to make a death look like a suicide so that it would not be investigated, it is almost a perfect crime. I say this because I looked up the likelihood of a double suicide by hanging when this happened. It is less than 1%.
The Sherman’s had access to over 300 types of pharmaceuticals. Women usually choose a cleaner suicide. IMO they would not want their children to find them in that condition.
It may also have been committed by more than one person.
Gaining control of people is not that hard by threats, and intimidation. He/They could have threatened to harm their children or harm the spouse.
Dead bodies are heavy and the Sherman’s are not young. I'm in my 50's and lifting 50 pounds is a stretch now a days.
Caseing thier home would have been easy as it was showcased all over the internet for sale,and figuring out the movements of a predominant public couple would not be difficult.

What's complicated about this murder/hit? Somebody was very thorough and seemed to know the layout of the house, where the cameras were, etc.

IMO, Barry was not the type of person to commit suicide. The guy was a ruthless businessman who was involved in 100s of litigations over the years. There is no indication whatsoever that he would commit a murder-suicide and the evidence we have been told so far sure as heck doesn't sound like a murder-suicide or double suicide to me. To me, this seems unequivocally like a double murder by either the cousins or children(either personally or via a hit.) I'd be shocked to find out this case is anything but a double murder.

I've read most, but not all, of this thread and apologize in advance if this has been raised already. If Barry strangled Honey there would likely be physical signs of this - for example his skin under her nails, scratches on his face, or even her own scratching of her neck as she tried to get out of his grip. Their physical state will tell a lot in terms of a struggle.

If he did that can you even imagine! Her husband trying to kill her.

Public figures declaring it a double murder just make the job harder for Police if all the evidence points to murder-suicide.
I suspect we'll end up with a quiet investigation, with no definitive conclusion. At least, no conclusion that embarrasses the family.
