Great news, and I hope the young lad is doing okay throughout all this. I hope he can make a lot of good memories to drown out what these creeps inflicted upon him ... maybe seeing the perps brought to justice can help in the healing.

Court documents filed in Bridgewater provincial court show that John Leonard MacKean, 63, of Dorothy Drive in Lower Sackville is accused of sexually assaulting the teen on Sept. 20.

The charges were filed today.

A quick search of court records shows that MacKean has a single conviction for impaired driving dating back to 1996.

RCMP arrested John Leonard MacKean in Fredericton, N.B., Monday. He is due to appear in a Bridgewater court Tuesday morning. Crown spokeswoman Chris Hansen said the last address for the 63-year-old is in Lower Sackville, N.S.
MacKean is facing one count of sexual assault and communicating with the purpose of obtaining sexual services from a person under 18. He will remain in custody until his bail hearing on Thursday.

From the first link I posted earlier. I thought it was Kenny who was arrested. This guy may have been who the boy was being sold to. I wonder if there were others.

I've read that no other arrests are expected. Maybe MDK rolled??

IMO, there is at least one who should be arrested for felony scuzziness, if nothing else.

Mother of confined teen breaks silence

The mother of a Nova Scotia teen is speaking out for the first time since her son was allegedly held captive and sexually assaulted at a home in Upper Chelsea.

&#8220;I find it really upsetting and very sickening. It breaks my heart,&#8221; says the woman, who cannot be identified.

&#8220;I wish I could go back in time and erase these horrible memories for him.&#8221;

She says her 16-year-old son was offered a job painting but was instead drugged and woke up to find himself chained to the floor and ceiling of the home in Upper Chelsea

He claims he was held against his will by two men, and sexually assaulted for a period of up to two weeks.

LeBlanc couldn&#8217;t say when investigators began to focus their efforts on MacKean, but he said &#8220;once they realized that they had enough evidence to arrest him, they moved fairly quickly to try to locate him.&#8221;
It is not known what MacKean, a married father and grandfather, was doing in Fredericton, but investigators
believed he had only been in the area for a short period when officers swooped in, LeBlanc said.

I can't believe that he was released on $1000 bucks AND HE was involved in this crime!!!!!

But, point taken. I agree that someone doesn't suddenly change their stripes at middle age. I have no doubt that these guys have been involved in some way with abusing young people. :banghead:

No offence intended towards any and all nice seniors Snoopster ... I'm right up there with you (perhaps i was doing a bit of mirroring )

Thinking of Leblanc and Cunningham having worked briefly at the Chronicle, and wondering how these creeps can spot each other. Must be some subliminal stuff that they pick up on, because you don't walk into work one day and start talking about these types of things with your co-workers.

Just an aside that i'm not really going anywhere with and it doesn't mean much in the scheme of things, but reading about the victim being offered a painting job ... Leblanc owned the painting biz (that didn't have a very good rep, iirc). Sure hope there aren't others out there who were offered jobs and/or actually worked for the biz, who haven't had the courage to come forward.

I haven't posted much on this case but do follow it. I absolutely agree Max. So disgusting. I just don't get it. What is also so disgusting and disturbing, these will get diddly squat for a sentence. Let's hope LE is keeping a very close eye on LM's movements. I will not be at all surprised to find there are more pervs involved in this case. I know the article claims there isn't but....

Does anyone know off hand what type of sentence they are facing? Kidnapping carries a 25 year sentence, but what about the charges LM face? Here's hoping they are both put away for the rest of their pathetic lives with just like them. Karma.
