In case anyone is interested in the warning behaviour of Ìdentification that was referred to in the RCMP`s report where it said The RCMP Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) conducted a review of the videos of McLeod and Schmegelsky. BAU was concerned with a behaviour called "identification", which is considered a "warning behaviour" in the context of threat assessment., here`s a little info:

and

New psychological study finds traits common to 'active shooters' - Journalist's Resource`

"Identification warning behavior: a psychological desire to be a “pseudo-commando,” have a “warrior mentality,” closely associate with weapons or other military or law enforcement paraphernalia"

Sounds about right....

This is interesting.... At approximately 2:00 p.m., primary investigators became aware of a witness who came forward to a RCMP detachment and provided a statement. The witness knew McLeod and Schmegelsky and believed the boys may have been involved in the murders. This is the first time that police learned that McLeod and Schmegelsky may be capable of the murders which conflicted with original witness statements from family and associates.
From the RCMP report.

Someone didn't buy the "good boy" image.
Between the words "boys" and "family and associates" I can't help but feel it was family or associates that pointed the finger at them. jmho (I might have messed up this reply if I did .. my apologies)

'Identification warning behavior: ----> a psychological desire to be a “pseudo-commando,” have a “warrior mentality,” closely associate with weapons or other military or law enforcement paraphernalia.

Bryer wanted to join the Canadian Defence Forces, but knew his grades would never be good enough..
So his dad buys him an airfire. Howzat?

On older cameras, if the battery died or was removed, the date and time would reset to something like 1971-01-01 00:00:00 every single time. It was annoying as heck, since every time you would then have to manually set it if you wanted it to be accurate.

But that would have to be a pretty old camera. Like 20 years. Or maybe some really cheap cameras still do this?
Many compact digital cameras from even 2010 require a date reset after each battery change.

If you take the rechargeable lithium battery out for a long time, you may see wrong date even in newer compact cameras.

Something I found interesting from the report.

"Police conducted an extensive search of the crime scene and surrounding areas. Various items were seized, including unspent and spent casings with head stamp 101 and 75."

Why the unspent bullet casings left at the scene I wonder?

I hope they weren't doing this to toy with their victims. Loading/unloading, tossing a couple, putting another in. Not sure what to make of this. Another oddity.

For the sake of the victims I hope it was just them mishandling ammo while under the effects of adrenaline, or the older rifle kept jamming.

Also that specific emphasis on the "identification" thing, makes me think that the police also think this was some kind of weird militia thing for them. Like the whole thing about "marching" to Hudson Bay and stealing a boat (from who? polar bears?) definitely makes it sound like that's what they saw it as. A militia of two people against the entire world. Us against the world mentality as I've said many times.

Maybe, the shooter was quickly trying to reload and dropped them in the darkness? Makes it sound more frenzied, couldn't let Lucas or Chynna get away, shooting and reloading in a haphazard manner, over zealous, a lot of descriptives could account for it, absolute horrible situation for the victims. jmo

Maybe, down the road, this person will be able to lay out exactly what it was that led them to believe that K and B were certainly capable of murdering these people. So convincing that it over -rode the no doubt sincere and genuine belief spoken by AS and the McLeods about their sons.

And that must have been some deep and utterly solid convincing, too, because the entire event pivoted on that input.

( for some reason, with no evidence, merely hunch, or/and instinct, I believe that someone saw them , or knew of some kind of 'murder', perhaps of a pet, some enemy's dog, a critics kitten, something like this, that K nd B did, that shocked them to the core and that experience lay there, until revived.)

The Columbine shooters' families had no idea. Their friends later said they should have been able to see it coming if they put the signs together.

I mean, a lot of random strangers checked out these guys' social media accounts when they were missing and saw warning signs (like you know...a picture of Bryer with a gun in his mouth) and were like "hey, I think they did it." So of course their friends saw even more signs than that that they were disturbed. Maybe weird militia talk or "jokes" about killing sprees from both of them. Plus they had that Facebook page they ran apparently.

Also it says right there on that warning behavior page:

"Leakage warning behavior: the communication to a third party of an intent to do harm to a target through an attack."

I spent some of my life in Kenya. In Nairobi, and it has had me snorfing a bit today to think of K and B trying to cadge a feed from some of the women in the Central Market there ( K and B would never get a job in Nairobi , one has to be smart and cool )

Kenyans take care of things pragmatically, they would be escorted to the edge of town and left to the wild dogs.

As for North Africa, Algiers, Morocco , Tunisia, Egypt ( my god, Cairo! they would die of terror ) they would be lucky to last until sundown.

Their first European port of call would be Eire, ( Ireland) .. How on earth they would survive Dublin without a nano particle of sense or smarts I do not know. The Irish wouldn't be putting up with military nonsense, and the beheading stuff. They've seen it for reals .

I may get laughed out of here but let me get something off my chest. As a child I grew up in Southern Manitoba. My Uncle headed up to Hudson Bay to fish with his relatives (once a year) I had No idea the road up there abruptly stops at Sundance, until this "manhunt". So I have to ask .. Did All you Canadians Really know that you cannot drive to Hudson Bay (before this case)? Yes I did take Geography a really, really long time ago :) Also for those from other Countries you may not know this "Canada is a huge country. Most of it is unfit for human habitation.
Canada's population is mostly very close to the US. Ninety percent of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border" ok done I hope I don't have to hang my head in shame and leave lol. If so I will blame it on age. Oh one more thing, had I been planning the trip they took, I would have figured out the road ends before I left home :)
