It's not the same person. Trevor is 6'2 and the UI is 5'9, Trevor has green eyes and the UI had brown.

Yes, I noticed the differences. but all the pictures of Trevor show dark (brown!) not green eyes.
Regarding height: How reliable is a measurement made on a person that jumped from Jacques Cartier bridge? I agree that the difference between 6'2 and 5'9 is a lot but I had seen stranger things.
I also agree that from Ireland to Canada is a great distance!

I did a deep search on Canadian and US missing persons databases and found no possible matches for "Michel". It is very easy to look for matches of redheads.
I also looked into the national missing pages for european french speaking countries: France, Belgium and Luxemburg. No luck.

Ireland has the highest % of redheads in the world this is why I looked for a possible match there. But appart from Trevor there are no other possible matches.

My guess is that Michel is french canadian but I have no idea why no one is looking for him so far.

They found his body; and then searched the video surveillance nearby.

I still think he resembles Craig Frear that is missing from scotia New York. I know the police said in a previous post that they ruled him out due to the fact that the family didn't think he resembled each other .

This one bothers me so much. How is it possible to have a picture of the UID, personalized jewelry and wild red hair that seemingly anyone who has met him would instantly recognize him and still not be any closer to identifying him? I just can't understand it.

Relatives, friends, classmates, co-workers, neighbors, former teachers, pastor, empires of businesses he frequented, his barber?

He either lived well off the grid for a long time or wasn't even slightly local to the area. Maybe visiting from another country?

I just can't seem to figure this one out.

I lived in Montreal for years and "squeegee punks" are just about everywhere. There is a huge community/culture of homeless young people in Montreal. In 1999 the introduction of the Safe Streets act was introduced in Ontario which pushed a lot of these kids out of Toronto (where it was also a huge problem) and Ottawa. The wild hair and makeshift jewellery would fit "the look". A lot of these kids went to Montreal where the cops were much more lax with their lifestyles and means of making a living.

My best guess as to why no one has reported him missing is that his family (if he had one) hadn't seen him in years and that his friends aren't the type of people who talk to the cops unless they absolutely have to.

Don't get me wrong- I met a lot of really lovely "squeegee punks" while in Montreal. I was running a restaurant and would often get the windows done in exchange for a couple of hot take out meals. A lot of these kids are addicts. A lot of these kids are good kids who just had nowhere else to go. Most of them are both.

I should also mention that I've never seen this photo or heard of this young man until I came across this thread. I live in Toronto and visit Montreal 2 or 3 times a year.

I can't imagine anybody that knew him wouldn't recognize him if they came across his picture online. That hair color itself isn't that common. I wish people would start looking for him and identify him.

Wish I knew more about these case and how much effort LE put into it. If it is without a doubt a suicide perhaps LE has to focus on murder cases etc. and so this young man's case hasn't been given much attention.

I really want to help but I don't know where to start. I suppose I should try to find out if there are any possible matches missing from Europe but... where to start? The name 'Michel' could be one of his own names or somebody else's.

Ross went missing in 2006
His Missing Person Posters have him with very short hair - one description said he had brown hair, but he had very distinctive red hair.

Jesse Warren Ross was a 19-year-old sophomore when he vanished on Nov. 21, 2006, while attending a mock United Nations conference in Chicago.
According to police, Ross was last seen at about 2:30 a.m., leaving the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, where a conference dance was held.
Surveillance footage from the hotel does not indicate Ross was intoxicated when he left. It is believed he was headed to his hotel, the Four Points Sheraton, located about 10 minutes away.
