Suspect charged with kidnapping as police search for missing woman from York Region

Police north of Toronto have charged a suspect with kidnapping as the search continues for a woman who investigators say went missing under 'suspicious circumstances.'

The lawyer in the same building said that it was mostly women who visited Dr Zhang so I did a bit of digging.

Pregnant women can safely use acupuncture treatments to ease back and pelvic pain during pregnancy.

Also, although science doesn’t necessarily support this, acupuncture can be used on women to help them get pregnant by stimulating the ovaries.

Could Dr Zhang have been blamed for a pregnancy loss or something gone amiss during treatment? Could this guy be the husband of a wife that was seeing Dr Zhang?

Acupuncture patients tend to be happy with results, in my observations. Otherwise, why go? I wonder if the perp was a patient but his ailments were beyond what she could effectively treat and he couldn't accept that??

Maybe he had a dispute over a bill?

Or will be be something completely random like road rage and he followed her to work??

I hope today's search for her is successful.

could have his father's last name - not all wives take their husband's last name anymore (I didn't) or could be other parenting reasons

no there's been nothing pointing to that that I've seen - it was just speculation which is why I had question marks

Investigators searching for missing woman Ying Zhang have located human remains in Kawartha Lakes, York Regional Police announced Wednesday.

Officers found the remains in the Village of Kirkfield, roughly 140 kilometres northeast of Toronto, police said in a news release.

The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators previously released images of the accused and of a suspect vehicle, a white Ford van, seen in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Steelcase Road at the time of Zhang’s disappearance, 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024. A suspect was also seen with a large, green wheeled bin.

I see she is a member of the Cdn Academy of Natural Health, along with others with Zhang name. Related?
Was the charged person the killer, the clean up man, or an angry family member who found out Zhang was using traditional Chinese medicine on? Maybe they disagreed with treatment. Or unrelated to her profession at all?
