As a person of.. um....~ diminutive stature~... I can tell you there is not one single solitary item of clothing that does not have sleeves that are too long for me. Add in someone's *brilliant* idea to make knuckle-covering length as the style-du-jour, and it's a lose-lose situation.

[Sorry - it's a pet peeve of mine.]

Not to get too far OT, but as a small woman, my sleeves are often too long as well.

HOWEVER, I will also say that I notice that when I am nervous or trying to "hide", I will fidget with my sleeves and pull them down over my hands to appear/feel even more diminutive... For me it is a protective thing...:twocents:

I'm not saying that's what ICA is doing, but I do recognize the tic because I do it myself sometimes...:blushing:

I'm in the camp that says, look, she is going to look like ICA no matter if she stands on her head in the corner. However, I think ICA the "lawyer" looks far better than ICA the figgiting, evil eye throwing, hair primping, blouse arranging ICA that we have seen in the past. Point being, you can't get a leopard to change it's spots. She looks cold because she is cold and there isn't anything to be done about that.

How can the defense trust her scribbles and notes? I have seen Baez look over at her notes and disregard them, she seems annoying to him as well.

There is no way he can use her notes - she is a pathalogical liar and if he takes her lead without conducting his own fact checking he will get into hot water. A sociopath/psychopath always wants to be in charge and thinks he/she can convince people they are innocent, without even considering the facts.

Anyone who spends almost every waking hour at Walmart spending stolen money is lacking in the brain department.

Respectfully snipped . . . it was Target. Walmart already has a bad name for itself!

I voted other because it's good & bad (for all reasons posted before me).

I voted for 'bad'. Besides being a murderer, what character trait will be repeatedly presented by the prosecution....that KC is a habitual liar. She sits at the defense table and tries to morph herself into a lawyer. Morphing herself into someone important seems to be all she knew. Too bad she couldn't morph herself into a loving mother.

:floorlaugh:- I'm with ya- 4' 11" here. I feel your pain!

KC looks to me as if she is acting out a part, of an attorney. She is stoic in her expressions, as if her face is frozen, and she only moves her eyes. This is really odd in my opinion. I think she is loving the attention she is getting, and has forgotten the real reason she is there, because she is accused of killing her child. It is as if she is in a play and she is the very intelligent, high profile attorney, taking notes, and all these people are there to help her, save her, come to her rescue. I think this will bother the jury and it will bite her in the a$$ in the end. She should be playing the part of a mother of a murdered child, not this....

IMO, she's just acting or they are feeding her full of something to make her act like that. There's only one way KC can appear genuine and if she behaves in that manner in the courtroom, she's sunk.

The bulging eyes picture is the one that strikes me the most. No poker face here, that's for sure.
She is responding visually to being impressed with some stupid snipe that JB made, if I remember correctly. She's very impressed when he gets what he thinks is a dig in at the SA. Problem is, no one else is. She's a fool.

The other pictures are very eerie. The look on ICA's face as GA is walking up to the stand. SHE HATES THIS MAN. Worse, she has zero respect for him and the fact that he is willing to lie to win her over, makes her hate him even more.
Who could respect a parent that fears their child? He lost that years ago and now she looks at him with contempt. Just look at those expressions.

The pop eye look was in response to Dr. Vass talking about the crematorium dumping bodies behind the crematorium instead of cremating them, to save money. Knowing the smell of one tiny body, she likely reacted to the thought of the smell of tons of bodies rotting in the elements.

I was very irritated by the video of casey entering on 3-24-11 - her strut, smirks and smiles at her "co-counsel". Then being handed the file and rifling through it with a look of "Okay, now what do we have here? Let's get to work." This is like a walk in the park to her. She likes to look and feel important. She's out of touch and so is her defense counsel.

I showed the video to a friend of mine who doesn't follow the case, except for highlights I give her. She just laughed. She thought it was funny but that was because she thought it showed how "crazy" casey is. Crazy as in should not be held accountable? No, but crazy as in very personality disordered and unaware of reality. So, I do think it will underscore how abnormal casey is but not in any way that could help get her off. This is the kind of abnormality that lets the public know something is wrong with a person such that that person is capable of murder.

Do I think the defense is allowing her to actually assist them? No, except maybe by handing them a folder now and then. Do I think she is mindlessly doodling or writing notes to her family? No. I think she is actively going through depos and making notes as to things she thinks are important, discrepancies she thinks she hears between hearing and depo testimony, things that the witnesses say that she thinks are b.s. or can be disproved, etc. and points she wants her attorneys to consider and use in questioning. Kind of like her mom, she will pick apart one thing and concentrate on that as if that one thing shows the entire case against her is nonsense.

Her demeanor, as if she doesn't have a care in the world, is a professional assisting on the case and as if she is not on trial for the murder of her baby and facing the DEATH PENALTY, drives me batty. It's irritating. But she needs to be paying attention and assisting in her own defense and by doing what she is doing, conferring with counsel as to issues she thinks are important, writing notes about testimony or things she thinks need to be explored in cross, which is the sense I get from her movements, I think she is. Otherwise she can claim she had no idea what was happening and was not competent enough to assist in her defense.

With my clients, I hand them a legal pad and tell them that if they need to tell me anything, to write it down instead of telling me or interrupting verbally, and to slide the pad in front of me or wait for a break to show me. Then I look at what they wrote and explain to them how that point is going to be made or how the point is not relevant.

So, IMO, the substance of what she is doing is not wrong but her demeanor while doing it reveals what she really is, as does her demeanor in any context. She can't understand the seriousness of her position because she doesn't care that a little girl is dead. So, no one else should. All of us dummies will eventually be convinced by her powers of persuasion, through her oh so smart defense counsel and she'll be free. She simply cannot comprehend that society is sufficiently horrified by the evil murder of a little snothead such that we will not give up and will continue to seek justice for Caylee.

To casey, this is just another conflict and she always wins those, by persisting in her lies or making excuses, so she thinks it's only a matter of time before she is released. Hence, the odd demeanor. Believe me, this is not a person who lies awake in her cell, consumed by the possibility that she will never live to walk out of the doors again as a free woman. Oh no, she is consumed with thoughts of revenge and delusions about adventures and romances she will have once free.

Ain't it the truth? Apparently that part wasn't as much fun as playing an event planner or a devoted girlfriend. :maddening:

Everytime I read the title of this thread I just crack up. Casey as co-counsel to me equals joke ... roflmao. The woman is full of lies and deceit and you can't role with that it will crush this case.
If her counsel is taking anything from this woman they are more ignorant then I think right now.

Any good lawyer knows there is no strategy to that

I don't think there is a name for what it is KC has.... this thread is hilarious! CEO!!!

~~ Absolutely priceless post, thankyou! I agree with everything you are saying. The light never ever lit up Casey's life, she never appreciated anything in her life. Poor Casey, very into herself all her life and somehow needed attention.... Tho, you can't tell me G and C never showed her 'specialism' in her life... I raised two children, gave them everything from our hearts and more. Too bad she is so selfish, she has ruined not only her life but her entire family's life and more... sad.

It will do the DT no good regardless of whether they allow KC to preen herself or pretend to guide her defense. She will be toast. She will sit there searching through notepads and shuffling through papers looking for the loophole that will set her free, and the SA will be displaying all the evidence that shows what a sociopathic murderer she is. KC only cares about KC. Listen to the two different 911 calls below. If a jury can hear these and hear the difference in her voice between the call where she is FINALLY reporting Caylee missing and the one where the protestors are threatening her, she will minimally spend the rest of her life behind bars.

In this one, at about the 2:00 mark is when the 911 operator asks to speak to KC. KC's voice is flat, monotone, and uncaring. She has "gone through other resources to try and find her".

In this one, she has a purpose! Those protestors are bothering HER! They are threatening HER! She doesn't go through "other resources" to try and get rid of the protestors! No sirree! She immediately dials 911 and INSISTS that they get someone there IMMEDIATELY! She wants them to send as many people as they possibly can! KC starts talking to the operator at the 50 second mark. The two calls are as different as night and day!

I pray the jury gets to hear these two calls to contrast the difference in just what was and is important to Lil KC A. Unbelievable!

MOO

Yeah it sounds like the PTSD and dissociation cleared up enough that she could make a coherent call. Good thing she wasn't given a script to follow and had to wait 31 days before reporting the protestors.

Having recently watched Casey's entrance the other day, Counsel was seated and Casey strolled up to the DT in a sweater (?) and then gingerly placed her left hand on the shoulder of Counsel and slid the hand off and took her seat. I was sitting her with my mouth wide open. She really believes she is part of the legal team. Why wasn't she escorted in? The officers used to walk her all the way to her table. Not any more...omg! Has that changed also?

Utmost quote respect, gitana. Thank you for your perceptive posts! :blowkiss:

I have always noticed her attention to her hands, the folding them in sweater sleeves, the wringing, the wiping as "out damned spot" you called it exactly as I had been seeing it all along, and did not know how to put in words.IMHO those hands are the murder weapons and when she is in court she attempts to hide them :maddening:

I have always thought ICA got decomp on her hands while moving Caylee and she is subconsciously wiping the decomp off and/or trying to cover the decomp so as not to 'soil' her hands again. I have noted several ocassions when 'decomp' was mentioned she would either rub her hands or pull her sleeve over her hands.
