Casey thanked Cindy for calling 911 after first call

Have a question...with all this "stories" (mistruths/LIES) being passed around by ca on this media thingy...could she be tempting LE to arrest her on contempt so she doesn't have to tesitfy??????? she could at that point claim the fifth?????? :waitasec:

Maybe ask that one on the legal thread. Legally, I don't know how that would work, but on a personal level, it seems to just show how over-inflated CA's sense onf entitlement is. (i.e. oh, I'm the grieving grandmother, they wouldn't do that to me.)

Whoa! This is big!! Up until now, the story all along has been that Casey did not admit to anything being wrong until they were back at the house and she was talking to Lee.

If the above statement is true, why would Casey be telling Cindy at that point that she needed to go to the police (but couldn't)?

What do you all think?

This jumped out at me more than anything said. Lee states that Casey up to the last minute said that Caylee was sleeping at the nannys and would go get her in the morning. Why would Casey thank her mom for calling 911 would the first call was regarding money and the car NOT CAYLEE.
But then again, Casey said.."This should have been done along time ago."

JMO - Might be CA way to get that “Private Meeting” with KC. They can send kites (notes on a string) to each other, or they can talk through the toilet once they drain out the water.

CA is just throwing anything and everything out there she can think of that she thinks will make Casey look better in the public eye. Guess she doesn't get the concept "Wayyyy too little, wayyyyy too late."

That's a really good question! They couldn't arrest her for "contempt" but possibly for obstruction ... my opinion is it would have to be blatant and egregious before they would take that action ... they have bigger fish to fry! Also remember that in Florida, as in many other states, witnesses are given a limited immunity for their testimony. Meaning that they do not have to take the 5th, in order to prevent self-incrimination. With this immunity, if she still tried to plea the 5th, she would be compelled by the Judge to give her testimony and treated as a hostile witness ... further refusal to answer would likely result in her being held in contempt of court and jailed.

thanks for answering...I just keep thinking that something is up with their tales....they are out there ---- It is way to easy to prove the lies from the truth---to potentially obstruction...they have been warned it just seems to blantant...

thanks also for going into te limited immunity---I've never had to deal with lawyers/legal issues and this just seems like they are treating it as a joke--tempting fate...after all who would arrest the "grieving grandparent"---wearing thin on me (however, I did make my kids watch some of the video on when it is best to spit out the gum and NOT CHEW---so I guess I found some good)

i think it's a crock of s**t. Mostly because if in fact casey was afraid to call the cops and feared for everyone's lives she would have made it a point to make sure her mom did not call at any cost.

I'm sure on some level KC was glad the story was finally being told. She had dreamed up her "I'm the victim, kidnapping....." story, and she probably wanted to tell it and be famous. She just couldn't figure out how to call and tell the police her daughter was missing for a month without it sounding suspicious. So, she was glad Mommy did it for her. I really think, even during the questioning at Universal, she believed she was going to be able to lie her way out and end up being escorted out like a princess. She never thought that smile would fail to win her sympathy. On that reasoning, I sorta believe she did make a statement that she was glad CA had made the call.
