Just reported on WKMG by Mike Deforest, Cindy deposited a money order for $140 in Casey's account last night.

I don't see a story on their website yet, but in the video report he held up a copy of the money order.
And I bet she wrote a note to JB thanking him for ICAs little sexual abuse ditty about GA cause it will get him away from her finally. Said sarcastically. Not true but I bet that is what the money was for. Kinda/sorta like -- keep it up ICA and GA will be joining you soon.

I wonder how many hours the mitigation specialist has spent with KC getting her story straight? It amazes me how someone who can lie to police about the whereabouts of her child, stole money from her family and best friends would ever be believed about anything. jmo

i'd be really interested to know if ICA was able to stick with the same story with the mitigation specialist without more and more embellishments or forgetting what she told her and told her something else. It seems it's pretty to keep a lie in a straight line.

:puke:

So, good for GA for not being the one to deposit it - but, why do I wonder if CA did this to get the spotlight back to her? Does she secretly want KC to gain weight back again like she has?????? Funny LA never ponies up any cash for CMA.

Considering Cindy is unemployed, I wonder where that $140.00 came from.
Could it possibly be more taxpayer money or money from her boys to her via mummy?

I think it was actually that TL wanted to do some kind of mental deficiency defense and Baez nixed it.
The courts did a psych review before this whole circus got started, it just hasn't been released. But it was enough for JS to raise his eyebrows at it in court in the early days.

He had not yet received any psych evals, but he did say, "And her mental state, which I cannot begin to describe...."

He also referred to her behaviour and mental state as "bizarre" multiple times throughout the bond hearing.

If that isn't understatement of the year....

I don't think we ever saw the actual letter that TLen submitted, I know I could never find it. I did save this though and to me it sure seems like that is the route the defense is attempting to take based on the recent visitors.

Didn't he make some kind of a statement later - a written one? I gather he doesn't appear on camera at all. I seem to remember reading something he wrote but it was a long time ago and I'll be darned if I can remember where.

logicalgirl (which you most certainly are!!)... we have only seen snippets of the letter TL wrote. The only thing I remember from his letter was something to the effect of..If KC's daughter was dead, it was most certainly from an "unwittingly" dose of drugs.

*shrug* Someone will have more info than I!

Dear Ms. Burdick:
I am writing this letter to ask you not to seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony in the above referenced matter. I am not going to go through an exhaustive list of all available mitigation in this case; however, I have sufficient information that will convince you not to seek imposition of the death penalty. I am continuing to investigate and further develop the mitigation evidence that I have available.
You will see that death is not appropriate for this young woman for many reasons. Firstly, the evidence certainly cannot support death aggravators; moreover, several evidentiary problems exist in the case. Second, at most, only one of 15 aggravators applies in the circumstances of this

Recently, Local 6 News in Orlando posted a story entitled “Baby Photos of Caylee’s Mom used in Request to Avoid Death Penalty.” www.local6.com/news/17898874/detail.html. Media had gotten a copy of a memorandum prepared by the defense for the prosecution. Local 6 News quoted extensively from the defense memorandum, stating that, “Anthony’s defense team also raises the possibility that Caylee may have been poisoned by chloroform, saying, ‘Death may have occurred while the child was sedated or from an unwitting overdose of a sedative.”

Casey Anthony to Face Murder Trial First
Thursday November 6, 2008
The report from the defense is part of the process Florida prosecutor go through in deciding whether or not to seek the death penalty. Filed by Miami attorney Terence Lenamon, it is not a public record under Florida law.
Parts of the report, given to the media by Lenamon, may give a clue to Casey's defense at the murder trial.
Lenamon writes in the document that Casey was "suffering from episodes of extreme emotional distress and disturbance since her daughter's birth. Even the lack of emotion after her child's disappearance and the arrest is not normal."
The report outlines several other reasons the defense believes it is not a death penalty case.

Report argues against death for Casey Anthony
A Miami lawyer hired by Casey Anthony's defense team gave prosecutors a report Wednesday outlining arguments on why the single mother accused of killing her child should not face the death penalty.
The 30-page packet highlights problems with some of the evidence and describes how aspects of Anthony's case do not fit the state criteria for the death penalty -- a sentence reserved for the worst of the worst homicides.

WFTV published a report today regarding a "death penalty attorney"
named Lenamon that left Casey Anthony's legal defense team. The publication
quotes Lenamon as follows:
http://www.wftv.com/news/19448158/detail.html
"We had a difference in what I believe should have been done with the
approach that is mental health related," Lenamon told CNN's Nancy Grace
during an interview Tuesday night." Lenamon explained he would have had
Casey plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

excerpts:

"Lenamon's report addresses the sentence phase, when the jury hears evidence for and against imposing the ultimate penalty.

Some of the arguments outlined against death include:

* The techniques used to analyze hair and air samples from the trunk of Anthony's car to prove evidence of a body are "novel, experimental, in the early stages of development, inconclusive and highly susceptible to mishandling," Lenamon wrote. Even if the evidence is enough for a guilty verdict, it would not be enough to support the death penalty, according to the report.

* Details of the Anthony case are insufficient to justify the death penalty, the lawyer wrote. She doesn't have a criminal record. There is no history of child abuse. The crime was not cold, calculated and premeditated. No one knows how death might have happened -- if at all. In the months leading up to Caylee's disappearance, Anthony's behavior was described by friends and family as "erratic and not entirely rational."

* Filicide -- the act of a parent killing a child -- is different from other homicides. The underlying reasons why mothers kill are complex and can be divided into various categories.

* Juries are more likely to show mothers mercy. The report mentions Andrea Yates, a Texas mother who drowned her five children. She was sentenced to life in prison but later sent to a mental hospital. Susan Smith, the South Carolina mother who drowned her two children in a lake, got life in prison.

* Experts will likely agree that Anthony was "suffering from episodes of extreme emotional distress and disturbance since her daughter's birth," the report said. Even the lack of emotion after her child's disappearance and the arrest "is not normal," Lenamon wrote.

* Anita Simmons, an Orange County woman who beat her 8-year-old daughter to death, got 42 years in prison, the report said. Lenamon also cited other examples around that state that also led to life sentences.

"A careful consideration of the totality of the circumstances in this case leads to a clear conclusion that filing a notice of the death penalty is not the right thing to do," he wrote."

ITA LambChop.

In the end, the only people I worry about believing it are the jurors. I have complete faith that LDB and JA are going to make sure those jurors don't believe a word that has rolled out of Casey Anthony's mouth. I don't think it is going be hard to do.

Casey Anthony's jail account no longer in the negative
July 28, 2010|By Jeff Weiner, Orlando SentinelIt appears Casey Anthony's jail account is back in the black, as her mother deposited $140 on Wednesday.

A money order dated Tuesday has replenished her account, which dipped into red ink recently. A copy of the $140 money order released Wednesday shows it was purchased by Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony.

Orange County Jail spokesman Allen Moore said in an email that Casey Anthony's account balance Wednesday was $94.49.

Justice for Caylee

Can anyone explain why on earth Casey has stuck with Baez like he's the best attorney that has ever happened? This just does not make sense to me.

Thank you for this ThinkTank - please let me say again how amazing you are! You give such depth and bring such remarkable detail to the threads that I read and digest each and every one of your posts. I can casually say I know Lenamon say "such and such" about ICA's mental health issues but can't quite remember where, and bang, just like that, a huge amount of exact information pours out - I just can't thank you enough for what you do!
Truly outstanding!
