Yep, this was the one thing that got my hinky meter up "Stain responded to luminol"
There could have been a hair there if they through a jacket in the trunk sometime, dirt in the trunk..with kids it's possible. But RESPONDED TO LUMINOL????

I agree, but keep in mind that other liquids/substances can show up under a luminol light, like detergent, if I'm not mistaken.

Not that I personally believe that's what registered

I know I often throw my laundry in the back of my car/trunk when I going to a laundromat, and sometimes the detergent spills. But until I get a maid...sigh. ;)

I have had a hard time all day. I looked at the number of views this thread at one time today (Before SS kindly moved us) and it was well over 6,000. I think people come here for the REAL up to date developments they can't find on the news.
For instance, what Liltigress shared last night. I know you can find it but it is about 20 pages back.

If there isn't already a thread, she should start one and put the comments in there. Especially since these things like to go poof!

I can't believe Greta has nothing on this. Is she nuts??? The big legal story of the day and she didn't even mention it!
Wasn't there a promo before the bond hearing about Grandma appearing on her show tonight?

Obviously that whole situation has changed, but I'd be surprised if she didn't trot out the legal panel to weigh in. This IS the biggest story of the day in the type of news she covers.

Can I say something COMPLETELY off topic without getting in trouble?
I think that SO many of you would make WONDERFUL CASAs!!!! (Court Appointed Special Advocates). You already have the detective skills .... and can make the difference in the lives of children while using them

A trained K-9 CAN tell the difference. They actually train them with cadaver residue (hope no one is eating..sorry)

I was eating! Ha! Serves me right for multitasking...

But yeah, THAT is what seals it for me, too. Those dogs are specifically trained to ignore other smells...human decomposition is not something that I think could be mistaken by a cadaver dog. That is the biggest thing I think that really sways my opinion....

Lets say Caylee was put in the playhouse,...when the dog hit on the corner of the yard by the playhouse, LE moved the playhouse and I would assume that they had the dog "do its thing" again to see exactly where it would hit. If thats the case, wouldn't it hit the moved playhouse? I am so confused.
Also,.. what if Caylee got hurt sometime by the playhouse. They say the dog picks up blood. What if it was picking up blood from a previous time? Could that happen?

I still think that Casey killed Caylee and I think the GM is helping with the cover up,. jmo

Hey Beyond Belief. You are one of the posters here that I respect the most, and your question is extremely important. From my personal experience with a sociopathic liar, I can assure you that they are SO good at spinning ridiculous tells about EVERYTHING, that they honestly think the lie they tell will be believed. I can truly see where a socipathic liar would think that they could come up with this ridiculous story, and the world would simply reach out and give them a hug for their loss. THAT is one of the reasons I read True Crime, and one of the reasons I am SO thankful for all of YOU here at WS's and other sites (Huff's site). I have learned thru many, many, cases to recognize a liar.....some call it the "hinky meter". If there were a richter scale for hinky meters with crime, mine would be in the absolute danger zone about now.
I agree reeee! And also...pathological liars believe their own lies...so much so..they have been known at times to pass lie detector tests!:waitasec:

And I might have missed this, but has it been determined for sure that Jesse is the father? I personally feel like he is, but I realize that it is speculation.

But kudos to the person who first noticed that they looked alike...who was it? SS?

Oh, and SS, I couldn't believe the resemblance to Kesse, either....it's SO weird.

edited to add: I know that the mom said that she might believe that Jesse is the father, but I wonder, has Jesse been questioned about?

This is by far the weirdest case I've followed.

What if she had been put under that playhouse? Buried shallowly under there and she needed the shovel to dig her up and move her. Maybe she got scared about having a body in the yard? all I know is that she took the body to the back yard at the least since the odor was there for the dog.

She had the shovel about an hour. A days old dead body placed into a trunk would immediately ruin the vehicle forever. The dirt got into the trunk from Caylee's body being previously buried.

I agree! Of the two, I believe that Casey is the weaker, and at some point will talk. Cindy refuses to see the truth, and is angry at even the suggestion that Casey would harm Caylee.

I'm perplexed by George. It was reported early on that when Casey was arrested, George took one of the officers aside and told him that he thought Casey was lying. I'm not sure of where George fits in with all this.

Actually it was when the first det interviewed Casey, and then the family, before he left- she was not arrested yet.. Good Point, though

I don't think that she ever had the little girl buried in the yard, but obviously somehow the decomp smell got there. Maybe she took her into the yard, and was going to bury her, but the digging was too difficult. Could be that she put her in that playhouse while she tried to dig. I know I saw the technicians moving it.

If Casey killed Caylee intentionally or accidentally, I can see her placing the body in the play house. Casey's immediate response would have been to "come up with a story". The most likely one would have been that someone killed Caysee while she was out palying in the play house. A REALLY good liar would have then "found' the body and blamed the bushy headed stranger that was seen in the neighborhood". A pathological liar who knew that Mother Dearest would cover for her may have possibly taken off for a mini-vacation - in denial even to herself about what had happened. At some point, under circumstances I just can't bear to think of right now, the body was "moved". The shovel may have been borrowed with the intention of burial, but I can guarantee you that it would have been too difficult, and a more practial solution, i.e a lake etc. would have been utilized. This would have required moving the body to the trunk of the car, transporting it to a new location, disposal, and then abandonment of the car, with subsequent relocation to the mini-vacation.

Maybe it is time for a break - I don't think I am being objective anymore.

Also,.. what if Caylee got hurt sometime by the playhouse. They say the dog picks up blood. What if it was picking up blood from a previous time? Could that happen?

Good point. If the term 'decomposition' can also be used to mean blood or blood residue, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to find it on a playhouse being used by a little kid who could easily get scrapes and cuts. Doesn't explain the trunk, though.

I find it amazing how obnoxious people on this forum are being toward the grandmother. The GMA is the ONLY person involved in Caylee's life who has appeared to seriously be concerned about her.

It's because of the grandmother that LE is involved AT ALL. Lee didn't want her to call. The grandfather wasn't pushing. Friends didn't really pay attention

The grandmother is the one that made sure that baby was taken care of for most of her life. The grandmother called everyday trying to talk to that baby. The ONLY person that cared on a daily basis where that girl was. She clearly was trying to give her daughter some distance but was worried. The grandmother is the one that tracked Casey down and insisted on calling the police. No friends cared. Not her brother. Not the gpa.

The grandmother continued to get on on television everyday after experiencing continuous ridiculing and harrassment saying the only thing she probably could - please look for Caylee. It was obvious the daughter had been lying to her about everything so what real information did she have to give? I'm sure the lawyer was begging her not to talk.

She sure didn't seem to be enjoying it to me but she submitted to it again and again just to make sure Caylees picture was out there JUST IN CASE even though I'm sure her heart was sinking. I know she wasn't good on camera but I could see no enjoyment - only duty keeping her going.

I find it unlikely that the gma lied about the fathers day date on purpose. Frankly I think the woman has been delirious since the beginning when it all must have crashed her world. It's no surprise that she would want to protect her father from all this mess and didn't want the police talking to him.

It seems likely her daughter gave her conflicting information on Caylees father among other things so she's going back and forth between what she's been told and what she believes. This is not a premeditated smooth delivery - this is a woman who called police immediately when she became convinced the girl was gone and has gone unscripted into every situation under great pain.
