I dont know if this has been mentioned but I recall that during the last video interviews with LE Cindy mentioned several passwords they used on their computer. I dont remember all of them but I do remember "horse" & "Casa Anthony" being two of them. I wouldnt think she would give LE her email password but who knows with her. This could be why its just now happening. Maybe someone heard the passwords in the interview and gave it a shot and it worked! lol Just a thought

SNIPPED: "... CA needs to be careful about who may have access to her computer. Who is in her home every day. Who is her confidante now? Who is advising her now? Maybe the culprit is part of her inner circle?:waitasec:

Essies, I sure would like it if someone in her inner circle was ready to do the right thing. Would be a breath of fresh air, eh?

Sure is keeping her quiet...haven't heard from her in a few days, have we? Very unusual for CA not to be in front of a camera for that long.

And kudos to whoever finally shut her up!

What we need is the IP address from the actual hacked emails!! I wouldn't ask technicalconfusion to weigh in before we have something of substance here, unless he or she knows something good!!!

I'm sure we'll all know soon enough, thanks to Kathi Belich sending her emails to the FBI. Everything else is sheer speculation and not worth the time, IMO.

What we need are the full/raw headers from the emails. This is really only the accurate way to track.

I am not sure that CAs email was hacked. It is a possibility but it is just as possible that she sent the emails herself either by accident or on purpose. Who knows. We don't have enough information right now.

what i find odd about this whole computer email hacking thing is this.. It just seems if someone was going to go to all the trouble of hacking CA's email they would have done more than just send 4 emails to KB.... I mean it just seems they would have sent out to more people and really tried to get CA into hot water.. and I figured we would had seen some of her emails on the web or at least heard rumors about it..
I mean who goes to the trouble to do this to just send 4 emails to one reporter.

I don't believe this was truly a "hack." If anything, someone guessed her password: either they read the docs and tried the passwords/userids in them, or more likely, they took about 30 seconds and did typed this in:Caylee05 and that got them in. No knowledge here, except working with users for 10 years that take the easiest possible route when it comes to passwords.

Besides most people just don't really think about how unsecure their emails probably are. People use kids names and dates of birth or anniversary for passwords. sometimes I think that most people think that there is a little mailman inside their computers and when they press send, he seals an envelope and runs through the lines to deliver it at the other end all safe and secure.

That, and the fact that once you hit send, anyone with a sniffer can read your email, userid and passwords as it is transmitting. It all goes in plain text.

TC, thank you for catching that and correcting me. I am truly a technical idiot... :iamashamed0005: :slap:

No problem!

Agreed.

My definition of what constitutes a true hack differs greatly from what I think Cindy is putting out there.

That's NOT how it works???

I'm sure that someone else has already mentioned this but Yahoo is one of the least secure email accounts you can have. It allows you to reset your "forgotten" password directly from the server. All you need is the email address (Cindy's has been released in numerous documents), the persons birthdate, and then the answer to their secret question ... these are preset questions like ... What is the name of your favorite pet? ... or What date is your anniversary? It would be easy to comb through all of the information that is now public to get the answers to these questions. Once that information has been submitted Yahoo allows you to change your password ... that is why Cindy was locked out of her account ... she no longer knew the correct password ... if the hacker was smart ... he/she also changed the answer to her secret questions so that she would be unable to reset her password and gain access.

Sorry if this has been mentioned to death!

But here's the big question to me. What makes Cindy so important (other than in her own mind) that someone wouldn't want to hack into her account. And, is she sure it's not Casey on Baez's computer that he is now allowed to bring into his late night sessions in jail?

Why would someone go through the A's trash? My guess is the person that did this was hoping to find something incriminating in her correspondence ... or some hint of these "secrets" that the A's claim to have that prove Casey's innocence?? In the same situation you and I would be smart enough not to send emails with sensitive info ... but I think that Cindy is just barely hanging on to reality as is ... a real loose cannon! That is just my guess! And as to your theory about Casey being the hacker ... I think that is entirely possible!

I know JB just won his little "skirmish" with the jail about being able to bring his laptop in with him, but what is the jail's policy about the INMATE having access to that laptop?? Reading and/or sending emails? Cruising the internet?

I would think that would be strictly forbidden! Anyone know??

I think the fact that CA is not screaming at the top of her lungs that she has been wronged is very telling! I'm thinking she either did it by accident (she is on some medication, maybe too much) or else maybe there is a mole in her camp! I don't think KC would be the hacker-that would be shooting herself in the foot!:bang:
