That is NOT true, only a Court order can alter the terms of her probation - the DOC does NOT have the authority to do that.

Just say a septic tank company offers her a job, and she doesn't want it. Will she be forced to take it, or be in violation of her probation?

If she produces copies of job applications every month, don't you think that will suffice? At that point the probation officer needs to follow up with the place of employment and ask why they won't consider an application that has the name Casey Anthony on it.

How else do you show 'sustained' job efforts?

I never said she can get away with not trying to find a job, just that it's entirely plausible that she won't work while she's on probation because she 'can't' find a job. There seems to be this thought that she better get a job, or else.

As a recruiter in realtime, I can tell you online apps generally speaking aren't worth the buzz time it takes to get them from x - y. Ms Anthony could do a lot of jobs where she is not visible to the public, and the probation offices have lots of applications from folks who will hire probationers as part of their good works. Heck, she could do secretarial work for a church, and never be seen by the parishoners. There are a ton of things she could do - even yard work and never cause a blip on the horizon. They may even allow her to take a job with arrangements with an employer under another name.
No reason at all for a healthy 26 year old of (as declared) above average intelligence to not be able to find at least part time work.

Listen folks - as I understand it - the job provision is 'waived' because KC is going to school and it is an on line school. She does not have to get a job.

no idea but I don't see how she could afford to turn down a job on probation. What would she be doing for them - heh heh. I see those guys driving around their stinky trucks - just one person. Does she have her license yet?

Solace - please! :banghead: The DOC cannot "waive" the job requirement and the Court order says she has to search for one. And get her GED. Nobody but Baez has said she is attending an online school except Baez, and I'm sure she is welcome to do that along with her job search.

Other probationers who have a record of lying and stealing, have managed to get jobs. Maybe cleaning up in the back rooms of a dog groomers, but every job can't be ruled out because Casey stole from Amy and lied.

ETA: where is everyone that said the check fraud was minor? that probation was no big deal? If this is true Casey shouldn't have any problems at all complying ,now should she? The TH's can't have it both ways and neither can the DT.

I don't have an answer for that because I don't work for the DOC. But how do they deal with other probationers who whine that they can't find a job? I know our unemployment insurance here in Canada tracks your job search efforts very carefully indeed. They follow up by calling potential employers to see if you really did make a concerned effort to apply or just zipped in a resume.

I don't think she has a driver's license yet. I envision a scenario where some company that deals in nasty work, such as a septic tank company, publicly offers her a job. Or just say a fast food restaurant offers her a job, where she will have to be in the public eye. I'm curious if she will be forced to take an undesired job, or else be in violation, and then back to the :behindbar.

I don't disagree with that and hopefully your right. It just didn't sit well when during the press conference is was said 'we have lots of offenders sometimes can't work'.

I'd bet most of those offenders don't have the stigma of 'most hated in america' either.

Trust or no trust, you would be surprised to know how many convicted felons (worse felonies than hers) are working at places you visit or may even employ to do a task in your home.

I wonder who would employ her? I mean you can`t trust her at all.

Someplace where she is not handling money or credit. Most typists don't get near a company cheque book or credit card. Yard crews aren't near money, nor are gardener assistants. Short order cooks don't handle money and dishwashers don't either. Etc, etc. Heck, work at a car wash. That where most of the felons work in this town.

Think about the average offender with a three yard rap sheet and the grade six education. Scary and uneducated. This is a coddled middle America small female woman. Big deal that she is hated. There are always co-dependent people out there who love to "help" those in need.

These are old pics - but thank you.

Those pictures are not the ones some of us were talking about. There was a picture posted on that slide account for about 2 seconds last night. Whoever has the account was ticked off and trying to "prove" to another poster she was "FCA". The photo was taken down in just a few seconds. Many comments were removed right after the picture was taken down. It portrays "FCA", if one is to believe it is her, in a bedroom pose, long hair and one breast showing. Whoever owns that site also put some pretty graphic comments under the picture. The picture was titled "leave me alone jerk". After posting the picture, before anything was released, the owner of the slide account said she had already checked into probation in St. Johns County.

If the slide account is real, she may have found a day job  Or, someone is really good at photoshop and knew about her reporting to probation before it was released to the public.

If she is in St Johns County, it's a rotten choice for her.

She doesn't strike me as someone who would be content to live a solitary life, and the night-time party scene in Saint Augustine will be quite tempting. Lots and lots of transient youth, easy drugs, drinking, fights. A perfect place for probation violations.

And shopping? I wonder if she'll be able to resist the huge outlet mall on I-75 - where there are always hundreds of tourists and bargain hunters. With cameras handy.

I love Saint Augustine, and would love to live on the beach nearby. But I'm twice OCA's age and I don't mind being alone.

I have several family members who live in St. Augustine. I'm wondering where in St. Augustine they could possibly hide a felon such as FCA. The only place that I could think of off the top of my head where she wouldn't be recognized is at the school for the blind. But that's too easy. Knowing her love of shopping chances are she'll be spotted running around town in no time. There are temptations there for her for sure. The next question is, who is she staying with or who is footing her bills? It's not cheap.

I just reread and you said St. John's County. My son lived in St. John's County at the edge of Jax in Mandarin. Me thinks someone with a little wango pango in the pocket is housing her. Not too cheap there either.

The probation isn't a big deal and you're right, she should have no problem complying. She gets to try to apply to jobs and take online classes, meanwhile as far as the public is concerned all they have is monthly reports on what she's doing. Doesn't have her address public, her place of employment (if she gets a job) public, no mug shot, etc. Sounds pretty easy if you ask me.

I really doubt it would be something serious for not taking a job - I'd guess but don't know that she'd have to make a habit of it before it would be an issue.

Thank you Angel for the info. Frankly, it all sounds beyond juvenile.

Sure it is unless you are a gal who likes lots of friends to manipulate, having a boyfriend taking her to clubs and being in the centre of attention. Then I think it would be brutal. Empty days and empty nights for a year. A year is a long long time to a young person.

She could help in the back rooms of a funeral home.
She could clean equipment ,bathe dogs and clean out kennels at a vet or dog groomers.
She could work the night shift doing janitorial work at a school .
She could be a pollster.
She can answer phones for an office that doesn't see clients on site.
