19 calls between Cathy and Chase. Just within 2 hours? What did they discuss that was so urgent? How in the heck did she pass a lie detector test and was possibly believable to the investigators? If she even was. Can she still be charged as an accessory as more of the investigation becomes public?

Didn’t we hear that she ‘didn’t remember’ what they discussed in those 19 calls?

I just want to bring up a few things.
Joey was under tremendous pressure at this time. Summer from accounts, did not want to move to Fallbrook, which was too far from the beach in her opinion. You can hear her talking about this with him on an old audio which is online.
Both of them agreed to remodel this house. *
They had been renting until now.
Moving is stressful, remodeling a house is stressful and....takes Money.
During all of this, Joey landed some big contracts. The biggest being the one for the fountains in Saudi Arabia.
Many thousands of dollars were on the line.
With potential for more.
This business was their ticket to a better life.
Not renting, but owning a home for themselves and their two little boys.
I am bringing this up because there is a poster here, that thinks that Joey should have replaced Chase.
In my opinion, I'm sure that Joey came to realize that he had hired a nightmare, but with all that was going on, he was trying to push those feelings down.
Which might well explain Joey's. attacks and illnesses.
I do keep thinking about this lovely, hard working little family that were brutally murdered and tortured.
No matter how you think about it, they were tortured. They lived long enough to see their loved ones die
a brutal death.
This crime really is up there in the worst of the worst.
I concur with nearly all you have stated. However, I would like to respectfully disagree with regard to JM's "mysterious" illness. I truly believe that it was induced by some sort of date rape drug by CM, who more than likely obtained it from Mexico. Especially after he admitted going to TJ for Viagra. I think the murders were planned in advance and physically disabling the strongest member of the family, would make things much easier to accomplish.

Niner,
If you want to email your phone number to me I can text you when the verdict comes in.

That would be a VERY expensive text for you. I'm in Europe! :) Just "tag" me here! If I'm awake I'll see it - if asleep - I'll find out in the morning! LOL! But thank you for the offer!

If Chase really did go to Saudi Arabia, why wouldn't the defence have produced these easily obtainable exhibits?

i.e. Chase's passport with Saudi entrance stamp/visa

alternatively.... why didn't the State show that it wasn't stamped if they are the one's suggesting that he didn't go? or better yet, they could have phoned the airline and got confirmation one way or the other and then testify about that. JMO

so far:

For how long will the McStay jurors deliberate?

That logic doesn't hold.

For instance he might have just renegotiated to ship the fountain and the client installed it themselves.

One thing we do know - if he went, there will be travel records which would be extremely easy for the defence to exhibit to prove Chase was an all round swell guy delivering on the contracts

Why wouldn't the defence score that open goal?

The prosecution have not argued he didn’t go. Susan gave him money to go. I personally think he went IMO

Do people think he lie and went and stayed somewhere while pretending to be abroad, Why would he do that?

Maybe, but Joey had been ill for months. Off and on. Mostly with vertigo symptoms, according to his Mom.
Guess we'll never know.

That would be awesome!!!!

Niner,
If you want to email your phone number to me I can text you when the verdict comes in. Patrick McStay said he'll call me when he's notified and I can notify you. Depending on what I have going at the time I am going to try my best to be at the courthouse for the reading.

I figured they would be deliberating 6 hours a day - that would be 9am to 4pm less an hour for lunch. And came up with 24 - Thursday for verdict, but after lunch. :)

Same here. :)

It comes from the preliminary hearing. You might notice that some of the notes on that post have page 104 as a reference. Where to find them here? Can't help you with that.... :(

But! I betcha @Tortoise knows where you can find those! :)

hmmm I believe that some of the notes within the timeline come from the preliminary hearing, but I don't think the actual call log itself was in the preliminary hearing (I saved the transcipt a long time ago lol)

I can only conclude that some of it may be wrong because I just cannot see the State overlooking that at all. JMO Wish we knew where it originated from or who posted it originally.

I’m the one 26-32 hour vote. Am I right that they’re deliberating on Fridays from now on, or did I misunderstand? (I know the trial was never on Fridays.)

As @la2cabo mentioned, some think the bank would have flagged it... I am of the opinion that the bank would have logged that call someway, somehow if he was inquiring about his account and it wasn't just a general call, not necessarily flagging it because he may not have voiced a concern right at the moment. To me, if a bank employee in any bank can just go looking at accounts and it's not logged, that would raise concern and I would be changing banks LOL But that's JMO.

Maybe. Maybe not. I haven't looked at Joseph's call records in a while but I recall he called the bank twice, 2 different numbers. It could have been a matter that Joseph was reviewing his account, noticed money being withdrawn and called the bank to see who cashed the check. Once he heard the name he may have been enraged enough to where he hung up and not said anything to the bank employee. He called Chase right after.
