I see all these ladies commenting on this remark. I want to start a poll.
Surely some of you use two hands, or have.

Being a male, two hands is an option.

Of course you can and...well, don't want to get into the TMI :blushing: but it isn't necessary and is not at all indicative of Jodi having faked! The whole point of phone sex is one hand is for one thing and the other hand is for the other, right?!

Well it's a lot easier speaking to the Jury, instead of having to pull teeth to get an answer from smartazz Defense witnesses.

Agreeing to disagree to this.... all a matter of opinion and don't forget the jury members are human to and subject to their own thoughts and opinions.

So not having watched it live, how was the overall reaction?
What did the media say about the close?
What was the consensus here on WS?
Any responses or opinions on the Travis FB pages?
TIA.

It was very chilling to have Juan "walk us through" the killing. The shower, the sink, the hallway "rainbow", her following him down the hall (I thought that was an important point to make), the neck, the dragging, the shower again. Really disgusting to think of all that happened to Travis but I think important to show the "picture" of what happened. Also, another good point that I had never even thought of was that she obviously cleaned up BEFORE taking the camera to the washer or (possibly) taking the knife to the dishwasher. Great point, no drips or bloody footprints showing her path. Makes total sense and something I hadn't even thought of even with all the detailed dissection of this case I have done! :)

OMG You're comparing the CBC to HLN? :floorlaugh:
I love you Nhic!! I really really do! :seeya:

Our tax dollars at work :drumroll:

:floorlaugh::seeya:

BBM

And all unaccounted for. :stormingmad:

But seriously, do you know anyone who watches the CBC other than for HNIC? :floorlaugh:

I've watched him in other cases. He doesn't need any advisor. He doesn't even have a second chair. He knows exactly what he's doing, he's been doing it a long time and he has been highly successful. No one is advising him on how to present in court IMO. He's passionate, gifted and hated by defense attorneys.

VERY hated, from what I've read. That MOO why Willmott is acting the way she is now.

But yeah, it's not like Juan is incapable of speaking softly. Of course he's not gonna yell and berate the jurors while giving his closing argument. It's common sense.

Is there any way that Nurmi can be given a chance to speak after Juan?
It was being discussed on HLN. They said Nurmi could ask for it and Judge Stephens would probably allow it.
PLEASE tell me that is not true!!!!

It was this woman that said it.
I do not know her name.
I think she is a defense atty?

ETA: MONICA LINDSTROM

 Say it isn't so!!!!!

I think these men were paying for their visits with JA and it wasn't for Bible study, but sex. I have also entertained the thought that she was paid to attend the meetings as a party girl for men they were trying to get to join the company by showing them a good time while they were there.

Most all these pyramids have a huge money investment that has to be paid to join. Where would JA get that. GS seems the type that would do something like that. And according to her parents she had been living a secret life after she left home. Would not let them visit, etc. I know this is way out there but so is this horrible thing that happened to TA. It is unimaginable to me and at this point nothing about JA would surprise me. But, she definitely looks like a party girl to me. jmo

Is it possible this is what Jodi did that was unforgivable? :waitasec: Was she an escort @ PPL conferences?

Jodi had [apparently] done something very, very bad -- very unforgivable,” Hughes said. “It had to be worse than slashing tires, stealing journals, stealing rings, stalking him – it was worse than that because this was the first time I saw this kind of response from [Travis]. I don't know what it was. It had to have been really bad.”

I'm about an hour into JM's cross (finally got the rest of the family off to bed so I can get some PEACE ;).) Juan was amazing today. I still have quite a bit to catch up on, but I watched the last hour or so of his CA live, and from what you peeps have said and what I've watched, he remained awesome from the beginning of his CA to the end.

I feel so bad for Travis' family. Sam really breaks my heart! It was obvious that they had a hard time with the things they had to hear today. I just keep touching my laptop screen like I can comfort them, and saying "it's allright honey, it will all be over with soon". I'm sending them all of the love and positive vibes I can.

I don't know if I can stomach the DT's closing. I've heard about enough from them to last me a lifetime. Jenny did NOT look good today. I've never seen her remove her glasses and leave them off for almost the entire day. She needs to grow a thicker skin IMO. You can't win them all, and this was pretty well an un-winable case from the beginning. If she was a GOOD, professional attorney she would realize that and not take it all so personally.

I think I'll just watch re-runs of Juan tomorrow and catch up on what I missed today. I don't think I have the strength to sit through the DT's turn at the bat. Juan hit too many of those pitches out of the park. The DT will be out there floundering and trying their best to field the ball, and as usual failing miserably at it.

One thing ALV testified to that rings true...

A victim of domestic violence is never in more danger than when she (or he, in this case) finally breaks free. It was at that very moment when Jodi realized she had lost all chance with him that her heinous plan was hatched.

It sure doesn't . (work) :seeya:

I didnt want him in a better place then, I wanted him here beside me. It hurt. I will never say that again . The cemetery scenes could have been me. I know everyone who says that has love in their heart, trying to comfort a person but really it doesnt work.

i'm a little ashamed, at my brother's funeral, well meaning people said "im so sorry " and i lashed back " WHY, ITS NOT YOUR FAULT" i am so thankful they didn't hold this against me, and it's very hard, but please remember these are just people who are trying to comfort you, alot of people don't know what to say and really, there are NO WORDS....even tho he was my twin, and i feel lost without him, i felt soo sorry for my mom, i questioned my faith and blamed God for not only doing this to him but why torture our mother so much? now i feel guilty for that. life can be so sad.

With my headphones it truly sounds like "Still hate me?" Then she adds something I can't understand.

I remember that, it sounded like "(giggle) still beat me? brat" as though she was playing a game. :scared:

Seriously JSS has so bent over backwards for the DT.....that she is now looking at the courtroom through her legs.

Truer words were never spoken, RP. It's really tiresome.

JSS has literally given them everything they wanted. Everything. Hearsay evidence? Sure. Surrebuttal? Sure. Expanded testimony for Geffner? Sure. Manslaughter? Sure. Second degree? Sure.

Ad nauseum exclusions of vital things pro-State? You bet.

She was in way over her head here. Not sure why such an inexperienced judge was chosen for such a contentious, high profile case...but epic fail from her. If anything other than murder 1 happens here, both Willmott and Nurmi can send her a fruit basket. She doubled as third counsel. :help:

HLN has been very complimentary of his closing.
