On the live feed that just now ended, Juan was talking to someone and he was all smiles. He looked very relieved and very happy.

Okay, I have now composed myself! I just had to sit here a few minutes, cry, suck my thumb, and twirl my hair. I was as limp as a dishcloth.

I can hardly bear it for Travis' family and friends who loved him. This time will be even more tense for them. I hope they can feel our love across the miles.

Finally justice is on the way for Travis Victor Alexander.

Just an FYI why time of deliberations is not indicative of the verdict:

O.J. Simpson was acquitted in less than four hours.

Phil Spector was convicted in 30 hours

Robert Blake was acquitted of first-degree murder in 35 hours.

Scott Peterson was convicted of first-degree and second-degree murder in seven days.

The Menendez brothers were convicted of two counts of first-degree murder for killing their parents in four days.

Of course, the woman we do not speak of was acquitted in ten hours and 40 minutes.

So, there is not much of a pattern to rely on. :twocents:

Dee Dee Moore was convicted of 1st degree within 3 hours. Probably closer to two iirc.

Will nurmi/wilmot stay on for appeals or mitigation?

Yes they would represent JA during the next phase of this trial, however no on the appellate matters once she is convicted.

Just as a note, on appeals one of the most common reasons given by the convicted is ineffective assistance of counsel.

:)

You know, Travis's friend just brought up a really good point...and one that we haven't discussed much that I saw anyway.

The self-defense defense has basically been DROPPED COMPLETELY!

It was hardly discussed, if at all, by Nurmi.

He went for "heat of passion" - you know, the "snapped" defefense - instead.

WHO DOES THAT? What lawyer on either side changes the story for the 4th time, in the MIDDLE OF THE TRIAL!?!?!

How pathetic!

I assumed the pick your own schedule to mean, pick when you want to take a bathroom break or lunch. All between the hours of court time. Unless of course they tell the judge they are getting close, then JSS may let them have a late night.

I am soooo nervous ... I can't IMAGINE what the family is going through .. I think I'd need to be alone in a dark room with a bottle of vodka.

Nah, it's better to be with us and a bottle of vodka, or rum, or beer, or what ever tickles your fancy!

:) We should head over to the side bar, and play some tunes, and be silly!

I hope and pray that G-d is with this jury and that they have been chosen to grant Justice for Travis Alexander, his family, his friends, and for all who were touched by his years on earth. :please:

Jury's Chosen Deliberation Schedule:9-4:30, no weekends, starting Monday (from Twitter)

First thought: they bothered with a schedule!? Just vote for guilty on 1st degree!
Second thought: breathe girl, breathe.

SHE KILLED HIM 3 TIMES ... the jury is not going to discount the gas cans, the turned off cell, only sex pics deleted from camera and a myriad of other Premeditated things JA did.

I guess we'll see, won't we.

All I am certain of is that there will be no acquittal on "self-defense". I see manslaughter or a hung jury as a real possibility here.

Mods: The trial has moved to the next phase. Can this thread be re-named or a new one opened for Juror Deliberations?

TIA

Let's say the jury is currently selecting a forman, takes a preliminary poll and decides they may be able to reach a verdict in a few more hours, can they stay and deliberate as long as they want?

This deliberation schedule is confusing.

Beth Karas thought they wouldn't stay past normal business hours tonight. Guess we'll see.

You guys :floorlaugh:
Ay caramba
To keep the peace and snark at it lowest while we wait for the verdict, there is something called the "ignore list" under User CP. :twocents:

The person you block still shows up when quoted by everyone else. Arghhh..

*zen*

*ohmmmm*

*breath in, breathe out*
