Julius Baroz was arrested last month and is being held on a $250,000 bond for suspicion of first-degree murder and tampering with deceased human remains, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

He appeared in court Tuesday morning where a two-day preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 29. The hearing will cover the case against Julius Baroz and his brother Adre "Psycho" Baroz and will determine if there's enough evidence to go to trial.

Two Arrested in Connection With the San Luis Valley Human Remains Cases | Colorado.gov

Tuesday, January 19, 2021
01/19/2021—Two Alamosa men have been arrested in connection with the investigation involving human remains located in the San Luis Valley in late 2020, while Adre Baroz faces additional charges in the case.

On January 18, 2021, Alamosa Police Department officers arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in the homicide of Myron Robert Martinez (DOB: 11/15/1982) of Del Norte, whose remains were located in Conejos County in November 2020.

• Julius Anthony Baroz (DOB: 03-07-1990), Alamosa, faces charges of Murder in the First Degree and Tampering with Deceased Human Remains in connection with the death of Martinez. Julius Baroz is being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
• CJ Walter Dominguez (DOB: 12-11-1993), Alamosa, faces charges of Tampering with Deceased Human Remains, Accessory to Murder in the First Degree and Second Degree Kidnapping. Dominguez is being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.

The 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that Adre Baroz (DOB: 10/28/1994), Sanford, faces two additional charges of Murder in the First Degree and two additional charges of Tampering with Deceased Human Remains related to the deaths of Myron Martinez and Shayla Hammel (DOB: 11/03/1986). Adre Baroz continues to be held at the Alamosa County Detention Center without bond.

Due to an order by the court, details related to this active/ongoing investigation cannot be released at this time. The affidavits and warrants have been sealed.

No - I did not forget that. I know it says "was scheduled" - so I am "assuming" that the preliminary hearing "was" scheduled for 3/29... As in "after" this hearing they scheduled the prelim hearing on 3/29.
Does that make sense?!! LOL!

I'll keep an eye out on the court site in the next few days & see if the prelim hearing is still on there. I know - confusing - at least to me!

Given that the only murder charge AB faces at this time is for Selena, I think the unidentified remains are very likely those of Selena.

*Hearing on Advisement (@ 9am MT) - CO - Myron Robert Martinez (37) (reported missing Nov. 8, 2020 from Del Norte, found Nov. 10, 2020, Las Sauces) - *Julius “Gato” Anthony Baroz (30) was arrested (1/18/21) by Alamosa police on suspicion of 1st degree murder & tampering with human remains. Held Alamosa County Jail on $250K bond.
Julius Baroz is the brother of Adre Baroz, who was arrested in November.
1/18/21 Update: Baroz: Appearance on Arrest Warrant on 1/20/21. 1/20/21 Update: Next Return Filing of charges hearing on 2/2/21 @ 9:45am. Julius Baroz formally charged 1st degree murder & tampering with deceased human remains after three sets of remains were found in Conejos County last year & being held on a $250K bond. A 2-day preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3/29/21 & 3/30/21.
Only for *CJ Walter Dominguez (27) was arrested (1/18/21) on suspicion of tampering with human remains, accessory to 1st degree murder & 2nd degree kidnapping. Held at the Alamosa County Jail on $100K bond.
On Dec. 31, an investigator spoke with a person who witnessed the murder, according to the affidavit. The witness said Adre Baroz stabbed & shot Martinez, and that Julius Baroz, known as “Gato,” held Martinez down as his throat was slit.
1/18/21 Update: Dominguez: Appearance on arrest Warrant, Hearing on probation on 2 cases on 1/20/21. 1/20/21 Update: Next Return Filing of Charges hearing on 2/2/21 @ 9:30am. Dominguez is being held on suspicion of tampering with deceased human remains accessory to 1st degree murder & 2nd degree kidnapping. He is being held in the Alamosa County Detention Center under a $100K bond. Murder: Next Hearing on Advisement on 2/10/21 @ 9am. Probation: Hearing on probation on 4/8/21 @ 10:15am.
