CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. — Two men have been arrested in connection to the discovery of human remains in the San Luis Valley in November 2020, and one suspect who has already been arrested, Adre "Psycho" Baroz, faces new charges.

On Tuesday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced that the Alamosa Police Department had arrested two more men on Monday in connection to this case: Julius Anthony Baroz, 30, and CJ Walter Dominguez, 27, both of Alamosa. Adre Baroz and Julius Baroz are brothers, the CBI confirmed.

Both Julius Baroz and Dominguez and are accused of being involved in the death of Myron Martinez, 37, of Del Norte. His remains were found in Conejos County in November 2020.

Two more suspects arrested in connection to human remains found in San Luis Valley

Jan 19, 2021

[..]

The alleged murder of one victim whose remains were found in a rural part of the San Luis Valley started as a drug buy, which quickly turned into a bloody stabbing and shooting, and a conspiracy to hide the body, according to an arrest affidavit.

Two more suspects were arrested Monday in connection to human remains being found in early November near Los Sauces in Conejos County and the initial suspect arrested, Adre “Psycho” Baroz, in the gruesome case now faces additional charges.

Julius Anthony Baroz, 30, was arrested by Alamosa police on suspicion of first-degree murder and tampering with human remains in the death of 38-year-old Myron Robert Martinez, of Del Norte. Martinez’s remains were found in Conejos County in November. Baroz is being held at the Alamosa County Jail on $250,000 bond.

Julius Baroz is the brother of Adre Baroz, who was arrested in November.

[..]

CJ Walter Dominguez, 27, was arrested Monday on suspicion of tampering with human remains, accessory to first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping. He is being held at the Alamosa County Jail on $100,000 bond.

All three suspects in the case are from Alamosa.

The Baroz brothers, according to an arrest affidavit, lived in separate apartments at 617 Sixth St., The Walsh Hotel. It was inside Adre’s apartment where Martinez was stabbed and shot, his body then mutilated, after he went there to buy drugs.

Martinez was reported as a missing person by the Rio Grande Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 8.

On Dec. 31, an investigator spoke with a person who witnessed the murder, according to the affidavit. The witness said Adre Baroz stabbed and shot Martinez, and that Julius Baroz, known as “Gato,” held Martinez down as his throat was slit.

@Seattle1 - is there a way for you to look up all those case #s for J. Baroz & Dominguez? Quite a few difference ones for Dominguez - maybe I should just keep following the murder charges - which would be the #D22021CR10 for Baroz & #D22021CR11 for Dominguez.
It would be a ton easier for me.... :)

What do you think?

Ack! These people are killing too many people for me to keep up with....

Trying to get this together. Since A. Baroz doesn't yet have the charges for Martinez & Hammel on the court site yet - I'll have to wait & see what the case #s are. At least they all have court hearings on the same date!

The 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that Adre Baroz (DOB: 10/28/1994), Sanford, faces two additional charges of Murder in the First Degree and two additional charges of Tampering with Deceased Human Remains related to the deaths of Myron Martinez and Shayla Hammel (DOB: 11/03/1986). Adre Baroz continues to be held at the Alamosa County Detention Center without bond, and may face additional charges.

While search warrants remain sealed in the San Luis Valley Human Remains case, investigators just learned that a 12th Judicial District judge plans to unseal the arrest warrants related to J. Baroz and Dominguez. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says that it has no information as to when that information will be made public.

The two new arrests only happened yesterday, 1/19/21, and the AWA was sealed but might be available today. I think we should limit tracking their crimes to only the charges of the murdered victims discovered.

What's confusing to me is that Selena E. still has not been identified yet those are the charges moving forward.

Why didn't they move with Martinez's case first since his file seems more complete!

This is all so very ugly.

@Seattle1 - yes - just going to keep track of the murders - maybe I'll take off Adre's child case also.
It is strange to me too that Selena hasn't been identified - and why Martinez' case is not going first... Oh well - at least they will "hopefully" all get justice! Get these guys off the streets!!

Court documents reveal the informant told investigators he watched Baroz kill 19-year-old Selena Esquibel who was reported missing in early September 2020. According to the affidavit, Esquibel was reported missing by her mother, who was not able to get in touch with her daughter after August 30, 2020.

The informant reported being there at the moment Esquibel was shot and her body disposed of. According to arrest papers, aBaroz hit Esquibel on the back of her head with a gun before taking her from his apartment, inside the Walsh Hotel in Alamosa.

The informant said he, Baroz, and Esquibel got into Baroz’s gold Cadillac Escalade and drove to the home of 27-year-old CJ Dominguez in Capulin, where Baroz’s brother, 30-year-old Julius, was waiting.

Investigators learned Baroz, Esquibel, and the informant left Dominguez’s home and drove to a remote property in La Sauces known as “Ponch’s House”. The informant said there, moments after arriving, Baroz walked Esquibel to a pit behind a garage and shot her.

The informant believes Baroz targeted Esquibel after she made sexual assault claims against him. They said her remains were later burned and buried.

On November 13, investigators took the informant to that spot in La Souces. According to the affidavit, a search warrant was executed and the ensuing investigation revealed three sets of human remains.

Investigators have since identified two of the three victims. At this time, the third victim has not officially been identified, but investigators believe that person is likely Selena Esquibel.

Wow... we've truly come full circle!

From OP's 1/22/21 news link:

On November 10, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) and Conejos County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 18201 County Road 28 and found human bones and teeth. Blood was discovered in the bathtub drain.

On November 25, another search warrant was executed at Adre Baroz’s apartment, where blood was found under the floorboards.

So.. guess what happened on the following date or November 26? The Walsh Hotel (i.e., Apartment of AB) (and also SE) burned down -- displacing 22 residents! Reportedly, the fire was intentionally set/arson.

At this time, we finally have "Psycho" (AB), his brother "Gato" (JB), CJ Dominguez, and "Poncho" (FR) all in custody (Francisco Ramirez or Poncho is in federal custody (since his arrest) and not yet charged with the SLV murders).

Also, I think that SE was probably a CI and that's why she was murdered. I certainly don't believe she was murdered for "going around saying Psycho allegedly raped her."

MOO

Isn't the informant - Xavier Zeven Garcia ("Zeven") - gone missing now? I believe he was the informant...

Definitely more than one CI here!

It seems to me that XZG was already missing when info attributed to a CI came out -- including CI accompanying LE to a specific area.

I would not be surprised if we learn about remains recovered at the condemned apartment fire site.
