Out of all the scenarios that has been presented the only one that has given my heart peace is that maybe she gave him something and he just fell asleep and never woke up. :(

This is my hope as well. I cannot fathom any of this, but this scenario is the least of all the evil I have had to imagine following this case.

I actually read somewhere that the National Guard is helping in the investigation. Maybe on media thread or page one. I will take a look.

ETA. On page one, look under media maps and timeline. The National Guard is indeed helping in the search for Gannon,
Yes, thank you. I only meant jurisdiction meaning they're not running the investigation.

I think she would have admitted it if this were the case. She could have claimed ignorance of dosage or something but she would be found out anyway.

For the most part I stopped hating people years ago. That said I am beyond ready for this perp walk, for someone I don't even know, I absolutely despise her and hope her time in prison is nothing but horror, fear and despair. Let there be an arrest soon. Sorry but needed to get that off my chest.

Wouldn’t it be an absolutely fantastic development if LS was at the home showing LE what happened to Gannon, like KK did for Kelsey...

I don’t have much hope for that, so I have to hope whatever brings them to the home today will lead to an arrest, and finding Gannon. Moo

Dan May & LE made a "deal with the devil" in the Kelsey Berreth case to get KK to crack and tell them what happened. I don't think TS would crack this easily and she has a REAL problem telling the truth, like in close to everything she says. But we can hope! As much as I want her to pay, I might make the deal with the devil to find Gannon.

There's a really good feeling that comes when the theory is sharpened through investigation and just a couple of pieces of data are missing. So you go back to the scene, and if you find that evidence, it's time to celebrate. I wish MCI all the best in finding whatever it is they need to find in the house.

This is a question for the locals. I am not a local by any stretch of the imagination so I'm trying to get a sense of the weather. Yup...my mind has wandered to the weather.

In looking at the picture of the Crime Lab Van outside the Stauch home, I see no snow really. Maybe a trace here or there but I'm looking at straight up grass in front of that house.

@Silverheels was posting yesterday about horrible weather and I saw images on Twitter about freezing temps and blowing snow.

What is the weather like today?

The reason I ask is that numerous theories point to Gannon being found close to home. If no snow at home, searches in a relatively close area could turn up something. But as far as we know, there have been no current searches close to home.

The area searched last week where they were located for a close to 5 days is further north I think. Is there still snow there and treacherous conditions?

When does a spring thaw typically happen in Colorado?

I was in Wellington, Colorado several years ago in May. It was beautiful one day and then a snowstorm hit, and then the next day, all the snow was gone. Is that typical Colorado weather?

Sorry for the rambling but I'm working on a timeline for when it is realistic to expect Gannon to be found.

TIA

Today it’s sunny and warming up in Larkspur. At our house we still have at least a foot of snow on the north side of the house but we can see the ground on the south side. The search area is flatter so except in the trees, it tends to melt much quicker.

The Palmer Divide separates weather so Colorado Springs can have significantly different weather than the search area and usually the CS weather will be better because of elevation differences.

Sounds like they could be searching now in CS if the need dictates. The forecast is for nice weather in Larkspur until Tuesday so I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the snow in the search area is gone in a few days.

In the spring we get heavy snows but it melts quickly. There isn’t really a spring thaw as such. All the snow melts, then more comes, then it melts, etc. When I lived in Montana, the snow we got in September would still be the bottom layer in May. It’s not like that here.

As much as I want Gannon found, as much as I want his parents to have answers, to know where their child is, I am apprehensive about this case coming to an end. I have little hope that Gannon is alive and although I feel this intellectually, my heart, my soul isn’t ready to hear that outcome. As long as we hear nothing there is a small hope, even if it’s a frivolous hope. But to hear, to know unequivocally that Gannon is gone from this world is just too heartbreaking to comprehend right now. I am afraid, deeply afraid for the conclusion of this case.

I'm not sure how the National Guard works but would Gannon's dad be considered active military and if so, would military police investigators also be involved?

An early article about AS's return to his home, which I only saw recently, did state he is on active duty. I remember noting it particularly, because I had previously been thinking of him as a reservist.

Was a body possibly found and they are matching up evidence? That's what happened with the Caylee Anthony case, they went right back to house the day they discovered the body???

Who knows, we can only HOPE! I'll say this, when I woke up this morning I thought about the weather....time for melting & no fresh snow! We had at least a foot of snow and most of it's melted except in shady areas. Warm (but windy) today, and through the weekend. Obviously very cold at night, but warm sunny days=melting snow and a better chance for sweet Gannon to be found!

PLEASE let today be the day that there's a break in this case & sweet Gannon is found!

Thank you to all who answered my questions regarding the Colorado weather. I have a much better sense of what LE is dealing with.

So they have admitted that it is?

Well, there's a criminal investigation unit there right now and the DA showed up 10 days ago or thereabouts. They have not used their words, but we can observe actions. I don't think there's ever going to be an announcement "This is now a criminal case," they'll just go for an arrest warrant. Good reasons for that too.

I am completely with you on this. :(

I would prefer he get a conviction on circumstantial evidence. If you can’t bring Gannon back alive, let her rot.

And THIS makes me think that we don't see the crucial portion of RD's camera feed. What if the camera caught her carrying something large enough to have Gannon in?
If Gannon was in the truck, deceased, cadaver dogs would have picked that up, and I think that we would at least be seeing them saying that this IS in fact a criminal investigation. Granted they may not share that info with us...but for some reason I think he was still alive in the truck.

The Crime Lab back at the house. Third or fourth time?

Literally makes no sense to me.

And I don't take it as a good sign.

I'm curious why it makes no sense. Let's say you found a piece of evidence (and it was a sub-team of EPCSO) and it had fibers on it. You don't know that when you collect it. Some of the fibers match known objects in the house (carpet) but others are specific and appear to come from clothing - say from underwear. You really want to know if that fiber is found in the house (in the laundry, in the underwear drawer, etc). You go back.

That leads you to another inference. And more testing. Perhaps you didn't expect to find DNA right where you did (on that first piece of evidence - which was not sent for testing because you have hundreds of pieces of evidence and no budget for testing every single thing - especially fast tracking it).

You realize that some person (perhaps someone unknown to you) has been in the house - a lot. You now know whose underwear it is, but you also know something else.

Etc. I'd want DNA swabs from all the appliance handles, if that were the case. The medicine cabinet mirror/door (perfect place for fingerprints too but those have probably been looked at - but DNA swabs weren't taken because no reason to spend $$$ just yet). All of the entrance and exit handles (you know the family touched them - but did this new person touch them too? Big tells in that).

I'm of course just making this up, but there are literally hundreds of scenarios in which we have to go back to a crime scene again and again.

In one real world case, forensics found out there was drug residue (meth) on some objects in the house and did several passes to find more traces. I visited the crime scene on about the 5th pass, looking for unusual places that drugs might be stored, but also for some other clues (we knew who the drug user was and no one wanted to literally tear the whole house apart, we wanted to find hiding places). We did find a small stash of meth (they'd already found weed and paraphernalia) but in addition, we found other, more important evidence (of a symbolic nature) as well. I have no idea how many times LE was in that house, but it was many times. They found all sorts of things over time, not all of them related to the particular crime we were investigating.

So I am VERY optimistic about today's development. Where I work, the investigation vans do not have such clear markings. And I've seen LE swap vehicles to throw people off, when doing work out in a particular neighborhood. They're not trying to hide the fact that there's a criminal investigation unit on Mandan Drive today.
