Water is a possibility, yes. It was like summer in the Colorado Springs area in the days prior to Gannon's disappearance. 70 degrees. Followed by a convenient freeze-up. Although I keep considering the deep, narrow crevices at GOTG, the back of my mind considers that if the stepmonster put video of herself at GOTG up immediately prior to him missing, then drive North 30 minutes to establish a diversionary location, this might all be to lead everyone in the OPPOSITE direction, in the event she became a suspect. She could have then high tailed it to the South to a body of water. Then again, she looks stupid enough to lazily have gone on to GOTG, only 15 minutes away from her 11 am stop. She is saavy about being tracked, so North might have been a diversionary tactic. If she is lazy, not so much.
It was your post I was referring to earlier.. I doubt she returned to gOTG, but I think the landscape you describe feels right. JMO

FWIW - I’ve lived on the Front Range most of my life. A reporter interviewing TS(LS?) appeared to let her run his show. I personally thought he did a poor job. The media is the media and will chase anything that moves. But sweeping claims of media bias or disregard for victims in Denver, or CO generally, are inaccurate and overwrought.

There is a decided difference between reporting and editorial writing. News outlets, all of them, can have a ‘leaning’ in editorial content that has nothing to do with their journalist content. We have hard working talented people of integrity in our news media here. Just my PSA for my state and our reporting.
Here for Gannon.

Do you think it was AS he was more scared of?

Unless the little sister was already asleep by the time something could have happened. I still think she could lend valuable information. But, TS would know that the little sister would be able to tell AS/LH is she would have witnessed anything out of the ordinary. So if it was something that was premeditated, TS wouldn't want anybody to be able to tell on her. MOO

IDK about drugs. But IMO I do think there were problems within the marriage before AS left for training, maybe even months before. IME relationships that start out in lies and deceit are not the most trusting and strong.

I couldn't imagine spanking my 11 year old. She would probably just laugh at me tbh. But then again I'm only a few inches taller than her and have been wearing her snow boots instead of mine cause they fit better lol. But, yes I agree. There is a big difference between spanking and beating.

Along these same lines, when my son was 11, something would have to be seriously wrong for him the be crying, sobbing and moaning. Even if I lost my cool and was yelling at him, he would mumble under his breath, head off to another room and slam the door. I'd take the cords to his electronics, he'd say I hate you. I'd be like good, I'm doing my job.

Let's just say (hypothetically speaking if you wanted to visit a pet store near there, or something) you were traveling to GotG from the I-25 area West on Garden of the Gods Road and turning south onto 30th to get to the park. There is currently a lot of construction going on with both of those roads. Traveling during the day, especially middle of the day lunchtime takes extra time, moreso than it even took me last night driving in the snow. I'm saying this to just say don't think "oh, it just takes 10 minutes to get there" when you are looking at a map. You have to understand everything locally going on, too.

I was hoping to log on today to find some news. This is the first case I have followed on this website and I am just wondering if there have been other cases like this? I still hold on to hope that Gannon is still alive and just needs to be found!

TS posted a video from Sunday night (the night before Gannon went missing). It's very odd and disturbing because Gannon is crying over a candle that set fire to the carpet. It is available on YouTube. Has anyone seen it?

Hi! I've been MIA for awhile but the combo of this missing one and I'm recovering from surgery has me catching up here. This is what I have been looking for, can anyone help me find where y'all discussed this?

Also, my son is 9. 5' and 110+\-lbs...no way does he sit up front. Then again, I would be begging, pleading, likely medicated if he was missing.

In terms of theories about accidents, there is almost no accident theory that would create an major issue in taking him to the doctor, EXCEPT if the accident included someone laying hands on him in some fashion. There might suspicion of abuse in some situations but his medical history (or lack of history of unexplained or poorly explained cuts, bruises or breaks) and family support would probably mitigate a claim of abuse. Medical neglect would come into play but usually has more than one instance of not seeking help in an emergency or medical care that involves medications (antibiotics, daily medications).

Falling on hike, falling on a bike, falling playing, etc are fairly routine and would be cause for clarifying questions. but would not (at his age) because for concern unless the injury was atypical like spiral fractures or large bone fractures where the story doesn't add up.

Ingesting substances, known or unknown, would be cause for concern given his age. Is the child experimenting with substances to get high (airplane glue, rubber cement glue, bath salts, or any other fashionable kid culture substance? If yes, going for medical attention would probably result in a referral for counseling. Does the child have an underlying condition that causes them to want to eat or ingest harmful substances? I doubt he had a condition like Pica. If the child was saying they ingested no substance but a tox screen shows differently, the question of lying or others providing comes into play. Eye drop poisoning seems to be making a comeback (I think I know why---b/c it is not looked for generally). But, if someone was poisoning him, that is not accidental.

These kids were supervised with at least one parent who monitored their movement. The idea that an accident would be cause for concern in seeking medical treatment does not make sense to me. There was not an ongoing custody battle that would cause concern of loosing custody either. Now, accidental harm inflicted by an adult, that I see as a real possibility for not seeking medical attention for fear of abuse charges and/or a spouse who would throw you out if they became suspicious.

Yes, there have been other cases like this.

Welcome.

Yes. The Harley Dilly case was similar run away. Not that he took off with Mom but just that he had run away.

Just curious...

After GS opened the driver-side rear door of the truck it appeared he had to move a few things (even after a white plastic bag or other seemingly-lightweight item fell out) before he got in to the vehicle. I noticed no hesitation on his part, no stagger, nothing unusual.

My eventual question is, were the younger children treated like common cargo, placed in the rear-with-the-gear even when there was only one adult seated up front __OR__ is it simply adhering to the rear-seat-is-safer-for-children recommendation? Should we assume it's the latter?

TS appeared to be sped up a bit, moving with focus and purpose but without audio (assuming they spoke) we have no context within which to place the overall scene. Upon returning, after parking in the driveway TS remained within the vehicle for a bit, doing what we obviously do not know but when she exited she moved with the same focus and purpose, if not more so. What was her hurry all about?

There were events that occurred in the house that we are not permitted to discuss, which limits sleuthing possibilities as to how what we think we know relates to that what we are not permitted to 'know' in this forum.

wait....wait....wait.... is all we have at this point.

I don't think the video can be discussed here

Here for Gannon.
Her behavior was so strange and unorthodox. I'm glad he just let her talk. She said a lot of incriminating things. I'm sure he just went ahead and let her talk and say what she wanted. She was putting her foot in her mouth and incriminating herself the whole time. I'm very glad he didn't do much but just let her continue to talk. I'm sure there's a lot of information in her yapping interview that police recognized. And I'm glad he left it as raw footage, especially at the end where she had to redo her plea for Gannon with "alligator"tears.

IMO

Well different kids do different things. My son turned 14 a couple of days ago and just last week, he was crying because the wifi was causing his video game to lag. Even when it's out of character, other factors like being sick or overly tired can bring a child to tears.

I read somewhere the trip is 30 mins approx each way from home to hypothetical animal shop.. that leaves 3 hrs, maybe 2 hrs and 30 minutes.

I thought he did a good job too. He recognized a good story and let her go. She controlled that narrative all on her own - and what a horrible story she told. Good job, I say. Part of reporting is knowing when to stay out of the way of the story, and he did just that.

Though, I do miss the days when the reporter also had a camerman/woman on the job too.

We just don’t know, as law enforcement is keeping this very quiet.

I can’t imagine the truck wasn’t seized and examined, as according to the SM’s account, law enforcement wanted the keys to her daughter’s vehicle. If they wanted that one, then they’d certainly want that pickup.

I definitely think they would want to talk to SM about that video, but that’s not law enforcement’s call. SM may decide not to cooperate, or could lawyer up.

They need to get in the wheel wells and deep under the truck and take dirt samples. Even if it has been washed, they can find stuff in the inner crevices, especially dirt and plant materials which could identify areas the truck has been geographically.

I'm pretty sure children under 12 are not supposed to sit in the front seat of vehicles with passenger airbags.

Edit for clarity

I asked my son that, as he has a new pickup with a GPS. He answered quickly and confidently, and I couldn't understand it all....lol

Basically, it depends upon what kind of GPS it has. Some are automatic by default and would be harder to by pass. Others can just be turned off or unplugged, or batteries removed, depending on what kind of model, apparently.

First of all, you need to locate the device. They’re not all in the same place. If you buy a new car, you can always ask the dealer to remove the device before you leave the car lot.

If your car is not new, you’re going to have to locate it yourself and turn it off. Sometimes the devices are built directly into the vehicle itself. This means that if you do locate it, you simply need to remove the fuse from the GPS device.

Don’t forget, even if you do disable the GPS tracking system in your car or truck, you may still be able to be tracked by your cell phone or other device. To completely disable the GPS system in your car, you should consider buying the GPS Tracker Defense.

No batteries, no GPS.
Israel Keyes had that down.
