I can't believe the defense was actually trying to imply that that wasn't JH on the video.

There's no waiting period in SC... but the gun laws here are VERY lax. You don't have to register them unless you plan to carry it on you. You can even buy an unregistered gun from a stranger off the street and carry it, fully loaded, in your car's glove compartment (as long as it locks) without a permit.
