I'm working on a long write-up about minute-by-minute details we heard in court today. In the interim, I thought I'd do something a little different and share what we've learned about the victim: #KelseyBerreth. #9NEWS

She grew up on a farm in Washington, and moved to Colorado for love. She worked as a flight instructor at Doss Aviation in Pueblo.

Here are some nice words her boss said about her: “She received plenty of accolades and positive reinforcements from students who just loved to fly with her.”

I know this has come up multiple times because of other evidence during the trial, but it's worth mentioning that it seems like #KelseyBerreth loved Starbucks.

Here's a pretty cute quote about that from her mom: “Kelsey liked coffee. She liked caramel macchiatos, that was the diet drink, and when it was in season, pumpkin spice lattes.”

Even more than coffee though, everyone agreed she loved her daughter, who is about 2 years old. Here's what Kelsey's mom said: “[Her daughter] is … Kelsey’s life. Her world revolved around [her daughter]. She was a great mom.”

More than anything, I'm learning that #KelseyBerreth was a regular person -- a lot like my friends. Here's a quote from her mom that sums that up fairly well: “She needed a good night sleep, she needed to spend her time with God and she needed to go running,”

Remembering the victim during these trials is important. I put together a short preview with some tidbits about Kelsey, since inevitably, a lot of the trial coverage will focus on the suspect.

I love that this reporter took the time and did this. I’m tearing up AGAIN at such a wonderful woman losing her life.

Makes sense why PF would not leave the ranch, he was hold up there staking his claim, never moving in with KB.

Yep, that's what some sons do. Never move outta the homestead and then claim to siblings that it's their property. Sounds about right for PF!

DAY 3 LUNCHTIME NOTES:
- Defense Attorney Adam Stiegerwald was calculated in his cross-examination of a DA’s office digital evidence expert. He points out the neighbor surveillance video never once caught Frazee carrying a black tote or with blood on his clothes. Stiegerwald then tried casting doubt on the photos, as the shadows shifted dramatically, sometimes within the same minute. The expert, Chad Mininger, said it’s possible that cloud cover was responsible, though he isn’t an expert on that.

- The state called Sean Frazee, Patrick’s brother, to the stand, and his testimony was very interesting. His demeanor showed he really didn’t want to be here: quick, short answers and a subtle shyness. He says the kids (him, Patrick and Erin) are still in a legal battle for their late father’s assets, which he estimated at $400,000 including property. DA Dan May says that will come into play later. Sean detailed some parts of Thanksgiving Day, saying Patrick parked on the side of the house rather than out front. He also provided context on the time he was with Patrick on Dec. 4, when police took his phone. Sean asked if they had a warrant. They said no, but that they were getting one, so Sean told Patrick to give it over. When Sean was excused, I saw him look at his brother, turn his head and roll his eyes. He says they haven’t been close over the last 2-3 years and that he never knew Kelsey.

- Another DA’s Office investigator, Stephanie (spelling?) Courtney, has testified about her work tracking down Frazee’s whereabouts the day of Nov. 22. She analyzed video from Walmart, Ent Credit Union and the Williams Furniture Store (all in Woodland Park). The Williams video shows the black tote move in the back of Frazee’s pickup. It faces on direction before facing another four hours later.

Those are the main points that stand out to me. Again, I’ll shoot for a Facebook live around 8 p.m. (MT) or so.

Police believe #PatrickFrazee hid #kelseyberreth ‘s body inside after they say he killed her. Frazee’s sister is in the courtroom. His mom is outside perhaps waiting to testify. @abc

So we can draw the conclusion that his sister isn’t going to testify. Having his law enforcement officer brother testify, was enough.

I’d be stunned if SF wasn’t called, and all indications are that she will be. Hopefully today.

Ha! God bless the defense if they try to make KK the “real killer.”

They were already dead in the water with the surveillance footage and cell phone evidence (that showed Kelsey’s phone leaving with PF on Thanksgiving).

Now we have his own brother showing that PF arrived late for dinner, and it fits perfectly with the timeline.

And that tote being caught on camera in a different position, seals the deal.

Yes yes yes! He's cooked. Defense has no defense! Just wow!!

ETA: When they noticed the camera they hopped back in their vehicle and backed it in even further to completely block the view.

O. M. G. The absurdity of this is unreal. Backing the vehicle up? Why is LE allowing/enabling this?

A major point I haven’t put on Twitter : at no point is #PatrickFrazee seen with the black tote at #KelseyBerreth’s door. Investigator suggested camera didn’t always activate. Also, there’s a slotted fence partially blocking view. @csgazette

Prosecutors have been working to establish a timeline of where Patrick Frazee was on Thanksgiving 2018 and what he was doing. We've gone through a lot of surveillance footage today that show him at #KelseyBerreth house a little after noon and then again around 4 p.m.

Last known image of #KelseyBerreth was taken by neighbor's surveillance cams. Shows her, Frazee and their young daughter gathered in the doorway of her condo.

Right. I’m wondering about this too. If he came back for her late evening/early morning after killing her. But that should show up on a camera or cell tracking.

That’s when he went to Nash Ranch I believe from arrest warrant, his cell activity near RS’s ranch along the way intrigued me, I’ll go read again

Kelsey Berreth murder case: Patrick Frazee's brother, a Colorado police officer, takes stand in murder trial
Patrick Frazee’s brother – who is a Colorado Springs police officer – took the stand Tuesday morning in Frazee’s murder trial and said he didn’t know what to think when his brother’s fiancé disappeared because he didn’t know her that well.

Sean Frazee, a spitting image of his brother albeit with a mustache, described his relationship with his brother as distant.

“I don’t know that we’ve been on bad terms, we just haven’t been close,” Sean Frazee said of his brother.

[...]

Sean Frazee said he arrived at the Florissant ranch about 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Patrick Frazee and did not arrive at the house until about 5 p.m., after the family had already eaten, he said. Patrick brought his and Berreth’s daughter, Kaylee, with him, Sean Frazee said.

Patrick Frazee previously had told his brother that he and Kelsey Berreth had separated, and on Dec. 3 Patrick Frazee told his brother that Berreth’s mother had reported her missing, Sean Frazee said.

“He explained to me that her grandmother was sick and that she may have been visiting her sick grandmother,” Sean Frazee said.

[...]

It blows my mind about the camera..... I mean, if you’re
Going to murder someone , maybe look????

He never ceases to amaze me. He is so back woods stupid,
So out of touch w modern society!!! How could he not realize having the phone w him... would be traced to him! All the phone call stuff, the pings and what not... makes me think PF is borderline barbaric! Did he not think he would be on any
Camera?!

Burn baby burn!!!

If somebody took a pot shot at him and their aim was on target, trial would be over, all the DA's investigation plus the mynute chance he may tell where he disposed of KB's remains . I would hate to see the Berreth's left with not knowing and getting satisfaction when he is found guilty .
