My thoughts exactly. I think he's passive-aggressive, and the murder was done as an avoidance mechanism, along with seething anger against SW and/or the life she created for them. Getting caught seems like the natural progression in this case. It certainly didn't take much to catch him.

Doesn't really matter how I label him, but I don't think he has the steely interior to be a narc or psycho/sociopath. Instead, I think he's weak.

It's as if this is a case of delayed "failure to launch" that lead to rage and frustration rather than a calculated case of selfishness.

I agree. I'm also thinking he was extremely jealous of SW, to the point of hating her. JMO.

Definition of rage Merriam Webster;
1 a : violent and uncontrolled anger
b : a fit of violent wrath
c archaic : insanity
I believe that flying into a rage would, most often, involve blows with hands, feet or a blunt object. Or a sharp object or gun. Strangulation is personal and used for power and/or control and is often used in "domestic abuse". Don't mothers more often smother their children? Or drown them, like Andrea Yates?

I think CW is a classic case of "projection"! He accused SW of doing, what he had, in fact, done! That is classical sociopath behavior, by the way!
I think his rage was the stewing, seething variety - not an uncontrollable outburst. Perhaps he even was told by someone how "bad" he had it and that idea festered within him and grew while he enjoyed 5 weeks along. When she left him with the two kids for the conference, I think the action plan fell into place.

I don't think he flew into a rage as much as he floated in one.

Really good point about her clothes she was found in. I hope we get to hear about it one day. It would answer a lot of questions.

His story was they talked at 4 a.m. and discrepancies on that time as another officer said it was 5 a.m. when he got up. So she should have been in her jammies unless she sleeps naked.

I'm still thinking that he did it while she was sleeping, therefore that is how she was in the bed on top of the sheet where he took her out, but other people think that it happened when she got home. So just wondering.

I too, think that he killed her on the bed and that is why he transported her body in the sheet and why he stripped the bed and put the rest in the trash.

But only because SW’s friend raised the alarm much sooner than anticipated. It’s possible this case might have been much more difficult for LE the longer it was pursued as a missing persons case. SW’s friend nipped that in the bud!
IMO, he would have been apprehended sooner rather than later even without NU's involvement.

LE would have noticed something isn't up to par with him immediately after he reported them missing, CW would've done the same idiotic interviews with media, and there's GPS in his truck, cell phone pings and such that CW wouldn't be able to conceal...

The Denver Crime Lab has been making considerable strides lately that I’ve been reading about. All areas of criminology and forensic science. Particularly in the development of DNA sciences. Former DA Mitch Morrissey and Crime Lab Director Gregg LaBerge were instrumental in building a new State of the Art Crime Lab as well as software to support the use of Familial DNA Searching, a process that has recently resulted in the charging of a suspect for the 1984 Bennett Family murders.
Wow! I remember those murders. My SIL lived not far from where that happened. I'm so glad they finally caught the killer!

I completely agree with you. I was actually stating why I didn't believe she was never in a rage!

I am so glad that NU called the police before he came home because I think he would have killed her, too, if she hadn’t. He was on a killing spree.

I agree! I think NU raised the alarm sooner than he'd planned, but even if he didn't report them as missing until Monday evening or even Tuesday morning, and had been able to take care of loose ends, he still would have been arrested.

His affair would have still been discovered, and the proof on the neighbor's security cam could not be discounted. SW and the girls left the house one way and one way only, and that was in his truck. JMO

Do we know if he saw funeral?? On TV? His reaxtions? Wonder how in mates were?
I would think the last thing he would want to do would be watching the funeral -- unless a TV camera was there. From what I read about the service, his name was not even mentioned.
Oh, how I hope he is having nightmares in his little cell, on his little mattress. I'm sure the food is 1st class, too. :D

Just want to vent. I belong to a couple of “groups” and notice increasing negative rhetoric about SW.
I am not so naive to think that it’s impossible for a wife to kill her children out of rage at their philandering husband who now wants a separation.
But in this case, for this woman to kill her children while being pregnant, would essentially mean, she would never have a relationship with that baby as well.
I just cannot see that much rage overtaking her to kill not just one child but two. Whether by suffocation or strangling which is what CW claims.
She does not appear suicidal to me at all either.
If she was that ferociously enraged, why not attack him ?
My point is that I suspect I am witnessing the beginnings of a CW fan club. Reminds me of the JA case.
Yes, everyone deserves a fair trial....but common sense should not be thrown out the window.

Moms have killed their children before. We have seen it. Where that possibility completely falls apart, to me, is in CW's actions after the fact. If it truly was SW (and I don't for one second believe it was), his actions afterwards defy belief. Gitana has a fantastic post at the beginning of the thread outlining the details, so I'm not going to rehash them here.

No loving father, upon seeing his babies killed, loads them into his truck, goes for a drive and dumps them in a tank of crude oil... And then turns around the next day and gives interviews without even shedding a tear. Even if you thought you were protecting your wife, for some reason, by hiding the bodies where's the devastation that you'll never again hear the laughter of your kids??

Maybe he would have been arrested sooner if NU didn't show up. He would have staged the scene so ridiculously that LE may have arrested him on the same day. He is that dumb IMO.

Did he use the fitted sheet to remove SW's body from the house and transport it? Did he throw matching bedding away expecting to dispose of it later and then drove to the work site? Probably expected to use the fitted sheet to carry SW's body up the stairs and then she and the sheet would be dropped inside the tank (sorry for description). He couldn't get up the stairs, had to change plans, and then left or lost the sheet. Time was probably his enemy. He never has a chance to remove bedding from house, bedding he knows matches fitted sheet, because NU showed up and then LE! From that point he had to believe LE was watching him! With all that had gone wrong for him, how could he be so smug during the Tuesday interview?

Wonder why he left a $141,000 job for a $61,000 job in the oilfield.
I’m wondering if the $61,000 represented 12 months worked . Oil fields are quite common to lay people off and there was some major ones in That area at this time
Anadarko cuts 1,000 jobs as oil bust gets more intense
I am not saying he was or not laid off but we are basing income from bankruptcy news. IMO sometimes layoffs are a tipping scale for bankruptcy
