Sorry my mistake, yes CW.

Yes, we know the bodies were immersed in oil as the tanks were almost full when the bodies were recovered. But were they full or empty when the children’s bodies were placed in them, I don’t think we know.

That the tanks were empty but soon filled is purely speculation, nothing more. But depending on what the investigation has revealed, it could be proof of the murder of the children in advance of SW’s return home. And why the children’s bodies were found in the oil tanks but SW’s in a shallow grave, if the filling of the tanks had occurred by that day.

ETA
Another possibility, if the tanks were initially empty, CW may have intended to use that as a temporary location and relocate them along with SW and his unborn child to a different impossible-to-ever-find location.

Once they were in the tanks it would have been harder to get them out than it was to get them in.

I'm still thinking he may have already told the girlfriend that SW had already left, and they were already seperated. That may be why he deleted the FB when he did. Also might explain why he felt he had to do it that weekend. Jmo
This is exactly my thought, subject to change of course. (But NOT subject to change based on wild speculation.)

Agreed. Maybe the pregnancy was a thorn in the AP relationship too... and the timing.

I'm still wondering about WHY the murders were committed on that particular day. Was something about to hit the fan? Why that particular night, when he didn't have a lot of time to work with?

Because he'd had 5 weeks of freedom and had lived the carefree life of a single man. SW was due back home in a matter of hours and he knew that he'd be returning to everything he no longer wanted ... the responsibilities that come with being a husband and father, having to account for his time, money etc. It was all about freedom to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted and with whomever he wanted.

I believe he had decided to put his plan in motion while he was away with the family for the last week or so of SW's absence with the girls. This is when he started to distance himself from her, but he may have considered it even earlier.

As far as not having much time to work with, that was only because SW's flight had been delayed by 3 hours.

I was only half watching the AB show last night, but IIRC when she was talking to Steve Helling, he mentioned that a " non porous bag" was found at the tank scene. (ie plastic) .

Here' the part about that from last night's transcript:

BANFIELD: So, I want to just mention one other thing, Steve. As you`ve been working the case, you know, another document on the court website said

that a bag was found at the site and it was a nonporous which makes us think plastic and that there was a --

HELLING: Right.

BANFIELD: -- barefoot print on that bag and that`s why they wanted the print. But you discovered that`s not the only thing that was found at thesite.

HELLING: I`m trying to recall what -- I mean, the plastic bag or the nonporous bag was number 26 in the list of things that they found. So they

all sorts of evidence. They have all sorts of different things.

[18:34:59] Some of the things we don`t know about. Most of them we don`t. And they`re using that as they are putting it together, a case against him

and kind of figuring out exactly what happened.

BANFIELD: Yeah, I was reading in one of your exclusives that on top of that plastic bag, that a source even told you there was more than that.

Trust me, there was a lot more evidence that they --

HELLING: Right.

BANFIELD: -- determined to be connected to this scene. And important to note as well that those autopsies are going to remain private for now. The

order today saying when the prosecutors get the autopsies eventually, they must notify the court immediately and then hand them over to the defense.

But as of now, they remain confidential.

And maybe what we went through today, remember the size of this? Remember what it would be like to try to perhaps get a child through that? Maybe this is one of the reasons why the autopsy is still being held secret.

I disagree. I know all about grief from personal experience as well as the others mentioned.
It's not uncommon to be stressed and scared for someone else, it's not always one sided.

Respectfully, who could he be scared for but himself? He knew they were all dead and dumped at his hands, by his own later admission.

Yes I’d read the tanks were quite full when the bodies were recovered. What I was wondering is if it’s known when they were filled. If the information hasn’t been released to the general public, LE and oil company would certainly know.

A highly speculative scenario based on that thought - the girls were murdered first by CR, their bodies placed in empty oil tanks. SW is murdered later when she arrives home and CR transports her body to the same location intending to place her in one of the empty tanks as well but discovers the tanks have since been filled, thus the shallow grave.
According to the Petroleum Engineer on AB last night, and he was the designer of those particular tanks, they were only accumulating around 200 barrels a month.
Draining and then refilling them is a lot more time consuming than a quick visit by CW. Where would the replacement crude have been obtained, to refill them?

8 hours is how long it would take to empty one oil tank using a hose and emptying it into a Vacuum Truck.

3 months is how long it would take to fill one oil tank with 600-700 barrels of oil after pumping the oil up from the ground. This particular oil field extracts an average of 200 barrels per month of newly pumped oil.

It would be easy for the company to determine the quantity of oil in them, at any time, I'd think. According to the interview I referred you to, the tanks are filled rather slowly from the well/pumps This is not oil stored after refining.

Thank you, yes I’m aware the storage tanks held oil prior to it bring refined.

ETA. CWs employer was an exploration and production company, so the oil and gas they produce is later sold to refineries. The purpose of storage tanks is to contain it until that sale occurs. I’m very sceptical that it takes 3 months to fill an on-site storage tank.

Apparently he sold THRIVE & was affiliated with that company too. That would be a sure fire way of saying “I quit” since it relies on Facebook posts to keep your teams together. He did still have his Twitter account active-he posted something about sports before SW came home that night.

Also, if she had a hard time respecting boundaries, she would have a harder time finding out about affairs. She also could’nt tag him and alert the mistress (what does AP stand for? I’m new)....
That would also be necessary if she/he hadn’t been told of the pregnancy.

It’s a great way of passively aggressively saying “I’m out of here” IMO
It definately would have made it harder for the AP to find out that he had spent a week with his family. Who knows what he may have told her? He was probably lying to her the whole time and then was desperately trying to keep the lie going. Jmo
