Where did you hear or see that she got a 'hefty' amount of walking around money each week? I've never seen that stated anywhere.
A marriage is a partnership so one person being the sole income provider doesn't matter. There's an excellent chance BM didn't want her to work. Meanwhile, she was still taking care of her 17 year old daughter - being a chauffeur, a cook, a maid and a Mom isn't not working.
Suzanne obviously was looking forward to working and getting her own place once M2 went to college.
I was happily a stay at home Aunt and worked from home. Once she graduated from high school, I also happily resumed my career. It's a mutual agreement and in many cases a sacrifice by the caretaker.
I think it's somewhat of a slight to think just because one partner is the only one 'working' somehow makes the 'bread winner' the one who holds the purse strings. That's archaic. What if the roles were reversed as they are in many families?
Not to mention, we don't know for sure how BM started his businesses and who funded them or what Suzanne came into the marriage with. Their more recent IN home and their first home they began their marriage in? Who owned that?
We know at least half of the PP house was HER money.
I just get really tired of hearing about him being the "ATM" and the pathetic misogyny that goes along with it.
Where was his ATM when THEY bought the PP house? Oh, he didn't have enough money or least said he didn't.
The 'miracle' of Suzanne giving birth not once but twice was Suzanne's dream. He took it away from her. All of it. And the rest of her life.

I could listen to this all day long. Keep 'em coming! Recognizing Barry for who he really is shows the god he thought he was.

I tried to figure it out via the re listings. It is a big house with a lot of wasted space and an odd configuration. Here was my attempt to figure out the first floor.

IMO, the traveling trio was nowhere close to arriving in Salida anytime close to dinner time -- let alone lunch!

We know that CCSO did not meet Ritters in Maysville to take the missing person report until sometime after 6 pm. It was much later (after the bike recovered) when LE arrived at PP and first spoke to MH before his dad and sister arrived. At this time, dad and son were very clear to say the daughters were on the road but made no indication or assurances that they were near and/or approaching Salida.

I think it was around 9 pm when BM arrived at the bike scene where we also saw Mrs. H who I doubt would have been at the scene looking for her husband and son if the daughters were already in town. It seemed to me from the deputy's response that father and son were waiting somewhere nearby -- perhaps the Ritters because we know that the house was on lockdown. I really would not be surprised if traveling daughters did not arrive until after midnight or early AM.

From the CCSO press release, we know that dogs began searching after BM provided them with SM's clothing (as seen in the recently released video), and searched well into the early morning for SM.

Sheriff personnel called members of Chaffee County Search and Rescue South and North and a search began immediately. The Department of Corrections was contacted and a request was made for tracking dogs to assist. They responded and joined the search. The search continued into the early morning hours with no results.

The search resumed in the early morning hours of May 11 with Search and Rescue. They once again scoured the area. Members were then called from the Chaffee County Tac Team along with search parties from the Department of Corrections and the area was once again scoured.

I thought way back in the beginning (Mother's Day 2020), it was reported that MM2 was no longer living at PP with her mom and dad. I thought it was reported she was living with her boyfriends family. Does anyone remember this?

I recently witnessed (video release) Mr. H encourage his son to be truthful and forthcoming in answering questions by LE, and I believe him if he says MM2 was not living with his family in their home.

I believe this was a social media rumor that despite Mr. H's own public post denying the rumor, it seems the rumor persists!

I think the victim's advocate plays a role in facilitating these types of requests. Since they'd been on a road trip, I think they had what they needed to sustain themselves until their house was released to the owner. Actually, I'm not sure the girls ever returned to PP. I think they believe their mother was abducted from or near their home.

I don't think we know where they were, but I know that various friends of the family "housed" family members during those couple weeks the house was secured. The daughters both could have gone to Gunnison also and if I recall their grandma was in town pretty quickly also so perhaps they were with her.

I've lost track but how far apart were the two search warrants for PP? I believe what was left of the family moved back in after the house was first released. If memory serves, this is when an investigator wanted to talk to Barry and he invited him for steak. I don't know how many plates were involved. It was after the second search warrant, I think, that we heard no one felt safe there, resulting in a change of address.

This article pins the search warrant to May and July and includes a photo of Barry grilling, which IMO, sits between those two warrants and corresponds IMO to the brief period of residency before relocating to Poncha Springs.

That was staging for Air B and B buyers, OldCop. There are other photos showing it was used as a den like area with TV etc.

And it's the bonus room and it's on the second floor. I have the house figured out with lots of ink drawings. I just need my engineer husband to do it professionally then I can post it.

I love lime and salt with my tequila so will partake gladly once I get this house plan done.

This room, with the double beds, is behind the living room fireplace, on the opposite wing of the house from the kitchen. In the listing photo, you can see the primary bedroom bed and nightstand, through the open doorway. Additionally the eyebrow windows correspond to the windows above the hot tub which is located outside the sliders of the great room, back of the where the fireplace would intersect.

Oh Megnut you are correct! I realized that last night before I went to sleep. I wasn't looking at the mountain view thru the eyebrow windows.

I thought that was an upstairs bedroom and bathroom visible down that hallway but now I realize it is downstairs with the guest bath door and Master's door. What an awkward layout!!

That’s how they build homes now. My daughter has a 4ooo sq ft house and there’s a huge open area that can be a second den/office or bonus room as you come up the front stairs to the 2nd level. She plans to make the kids’ playroom. Nearly every house she looked at had an open area like this upstairs.

eta: It's going to be a dog and pony show. A carnival act. If only the jury were to be privy to what we've heard/read in the hearings and the AA and everything else in between.

Unless they put the daughter on the stand to confirm she made the searches, the jury won’t buy it. I don’t think anyone would believe that someone other than Barry searched for hot girls.

I remember thinking it would be likely they would get a scent if she frequently sat out back near the path that is visible in the helicopter footage video. I believe they had 2 wooden chairs (or a bench) in a little sitting area that overlooked the river.

I now wonder if this detail was accurate because I don’t recall seeing it mentioned in the AA. Could someone who is more versed with the AA chime in to confirm? Thx.

I had heard about that, but can't remember if it was MSM or social media.

I decided to check around Google. All I found were lots of articles on investigating a plot of land owned by BM where cadaver dogs detected the scent of human remains.

I filled in some blanks on the redacted search terms with possibilities. I could see the Hurricane playing it as Barry was keeping an eye on his precious daughters and checking the web to see if there was anything posted about them. Just as an alternate theory, of course. Designed to diffuse.

The only thing I read for hits down near the river was the search her brother Andy did in September. Cadaver dogs hit I believe the exact location was across the river, but it was between the main road and their house just on the other side of the river. It was noted that LE checked the area and deemed it unrelated to the case.

I'd be willing to bet MM2 just spent a great deal of time with that family in their home. She vacationed with them, likely didn't want to be in her own home due to the increased tension going on so maybe just spent more time at his house in recent months avoiding the tension at home. They were dating for nearly 2 years so I'm sure even though they were in high school and young, they spent a fair amount of time at each other's houses. Social media rumors can run wild for sure.

Once MH made the honest remarks to LEO on Mother's Day, it was over with him and MM2. Barry wouldn't allow MH to testify against him while he's dating the youngest daughter.

The way I see the situ is that MM2 is supporting her sister who very nearly lost her mind when her father, her hero, was arrested, for murdering Suzanne then stoically stood by while he spent nearly a year in jail. MM2 is supportive of her older sister* but I hope she doesn't feel responsible for her sister's happiness as, according to Suzanne, MM1 feels responsible for her father's happiness. He's got her blindsided, I guess.

It's all so very sad. It didn't have to end this way, Barry.

* LS gave a detailed description of the words spoken from the lectern in court on the day the Judge decided to bend the bond to allow Barry to visit Gunnison by daylight. The oldest spoke, and wept a bit, during her plea. The youngest held a supportive arm around her sister but, checks notes, I don't think MM2 cried while at the lectern.

BM's relationship with MM1 definitely appears to be quite different from his relationship with MM2. They went on camping trips alone together and apparently he was privy to information regarding her sex life which I will admit weirds me out. That's as much as I'll say about that, but I think MM2 was the child who was close to SM and I think at this point she probably feels like she has to go along with whatever BM and MM1 tell her to do or be left alone in the cold. As upper middle class daughters, I think they were really sheltered and would be easily frightened by the prospect of losing their source of financial support.
