Pretty good recap (minus DNA bluff that may live on forever :( ) for those following or intro for those not, including the potential backing up of the truck to access the older model Range Rover in the garage, a vehicle with no telematics.

So... maybe he did leave in the dark to take the most important evidence to where it has not been found YET. Only question: his truck would having been backing down the driveway AWAY from the house, right?

Barry Morphew's truck
CHAFFEE COUNTY DISTRICT COURT
Authorities say Barry Morphew told them he went to bed around 8 p.m. on May 9, but his truck's computer shows the truck, seen here in this evidence photo, was put in reverse and backed up towards the house around 9:30 p.m.

Evidence in the Suzanne Morphew case

I would guess there are very few that disagree with prosecution claims. The problem is proving those claims. Had prosecution not had their missteps with court set due dates we would be discussing the presentation and rebuttal of those claims.
I, for one absolutely agree with the Prosecution’s “ claims”. Their “ claims” are based on a year long investigation into the disappearance of Suzanne Morphew where several law enforcement agencies have concluded that the evidence points to only one reasonable scenario. NOTHING points to any other possible scenarios.
It doesn’t matter if there is a body. It doesn’t matter if the evidence is all “ circumstantial “. The majority of successful criminal case rely on circumstantial evidence. But they need expert witnesses to present that evidence.
I agree that it appears that the Prosecution made some fatal errors with meeting deadlines.
I can only hope that they can come back back stronger and refile these charges.
The only rebuttals will be smoke and mirrors and spinning the truth IMO.

She texted it to the married guy she was cheating with, right?
Yeah, you could bluntly make that judgment.
We don’t really know these people.
Or you could look at what we’ve been told about her— She is a woman who’s by all accounts dedicated her life to her family and children and loves the Lord.
She is about to turn 50 and have an empty nest.
She can no longer live under the thumb of a man who tells her how to dress and how to act and how to portray a perfect image.
So she connects with an old boyfriend and dreams of getting out.
We don’t know them
We should not judge them

He also has enemies here. People who knew both Barry and Suzanne. I know his mom is here and that crazy friend who was everywhere on social media defending him but that’s about it. I think most would feel creepy having him around. And just think about old friends who heard about him burying stuff in his front yard.

And remember he wasn’t acquitted. Charges were dropped. That’s a whole other can of worms.

Speaking of burying, didn’t he and Suzanne own seven acres on Puma Path? I always believed Barry had s plan or a vision of where to put Suzanne if she ever got out of line.

Since he is a landscaper, I believe he buried her somewhere on those seven acres and landscaped it in a way that wouldn’t be noticed, and maybe covered with about five feet of snow during Spring.

I have always wondered if LE used heat seeking radar at PP to find Suzanne or if that would even work for a dead body?

I thought long and hard about PP. I don’t think BM would have allowed the sniffer dogs belonging to Andy’s search party on the property if she was there.

What charge connected to the murder do you think was dropped?

If OP was thinking about Count 4 -- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (i.e., short rifle), that count was not dropped but severed from the murder charges after it was determined the gun in question could not fire tranquilizer darts.

In addition to the gun charge, BM also has the voter fraud charge pending. IMO, a Colorado precedent was already set for this charge where a conviction by a jury resulted in probation and community service (see link from the prior thread below).

Nonetheless, I do not see where a conviction of any of the remaining charges here results in BM losing his right to hunt, possess weapons, or serve a day in jail. MOO

Thanks yes I was thinking of the short rifle that was severed and I assumed it returned to Chaffee County perhaps and the voter ballet that he signed on the witness line. I was thinking those were the only two remaining charges.

@OldCop, what's up White Pine(s), home of the swan dive?

Anything significant? Barry workable have known his performance would be photographed...so I think it's possible he was overwhelmed with genuine relief....

What mine shafts are near this location?

I've always thought his behavior that day indicated searchers were very close to her remains if she's not near PP. I wonder how a behavior specialist would interpret his need to caress the ground?

I wouldn't mind if Grusing had "grilled" him on this. Maybe he did?

Wonder if he has visited this spot again in the intervening time?

Questions but sadly, I have no answers.

It was reported that that photo of BM laying on the ground in such a dramatic fashion was taken at Whitepine Cemetery. According to this article Whitepine Cemetery lies within town limits. Town Profiles: Whitepine
BM would pass by CR888, the road to Whitepine every time he went to visit MM1 in Gunnison. The town has a few summer cabins and is mostly a ghost town. It is also the site of the old Akron Mine. A bit further north is the North Star Mine.
Akron Mine seems to be the most accessible of the two. It is a little less than an hours drive from Puma Path, about 28 miles.
The linked article says there is a shortcut, Old Monarch Pass Rd, that you can take to Whitepine. I’ve marked it on one of the maps. I don’t know if that road would be passable in early May.
The issue with Whitepine was that SA Grusing tells BM that they did not see him pass on the Monarch cctv which he would have done if he had stayed on 50 west.
Why would BM decide to search for his missing wife up near this cemetery in an old ghost town ?

He's got an entire crew of gullible supporters back in Indiana, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up back there.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can't see what's right in front of them.
He also owns this curious strip of land in Indiana.

Maybe he can plant some trees and screw it all up like last time. Page 57:

Barry was not planting trees at the proper depth, either too shallow or too deep. He knew that he had to adjust the trees, or they would die, but he was too focused on making money and moving on to the next job. Barry planted rows of trees incorrectly and hurriedly, and they died.

This should be a children's story, "Barry and the trees."

95 feet it backed up according to prosecution. I wonder why 95 feet…

One last mine for the day: New York Mine, a bit north of the Garfield Mine on CR228 where BM said he turned around. This mine is 7.7 miles from the Morphew home. It is exactly 7 miles from the intersection of 225 and HWy 50
where BM turned left on Mother’s Day Morning 2020.
Anyone remember the 14 missing miles?

Lauren had this:

At 4:44 #BarryMorphew Truck door opens and closes. At 9:25 p.m. the gear shift goes from park to reverse and moves backward in the driveway 95 feet at the Morphew home off of Puma Path in Maysville, CO.

And very importantly, accessible by road. Any idea on the elevation?

I hope she decides to take some shots at Iris, after that embarrassing display the other day.

It's not Lauren's fault that she covered the case, and reported what Barry told her during her interviews with him.

"She is biased because she took what my client said, and repeated it!"

Or something. What a clown.
