This! I remember when I went through my divorce, I put a profile on seekingarrangement to trap my husband (long story)...then I installed an SMS tracker on his phone while he was sleeping. WOWOWOWOW!! What a wake-up call that was to discover his sordid, double life behind my back. I ran to my divorce attorney, made a clean cut.
as @Warwick7 would say...
bam! girl

Maybe he wrapped her body up in them?
Exactly! Didn't BM make a point to tell investigators that SM had been washing the sheets? Although if the sheets were gone from the house, that would not have looked good to investigators. Then again, I'm sure they had many sets of sheets, so he could have claimed that she'd washed them and they were sitting in a basket. It would be easy to pull out a set of clean sheets, run it through the washer, and put it in a clothes basket.

Just curious--how many of you have ever dumped something smallish in a dumpster that is nowhere near your house or apartment building and then gone on to do this four more times that day using different dumpsters? I can understand how someone who's desperate to get rid of something big that their trash company won't pick up might take it to a dumpster (despite the fact that it's illegal), but usually, if you have something small to get rid of, you just put it in your trash. The fact that he was getting rid of a tranquilizer dart is insanely suspicious, as is the fact that he was dumping anything in any of these dumpsters. Plus, he claims he doesn't remember what he was dumping other than that tranquilizer "stuff." If you had gone to five different dumpsters in one day, wouldn't you remember what you had dumped? If I were a juror, this alone would make me convict him.

Welcome Pickles.:):):)
Hope you post a lot more.
SM also had wake up calls, but unlike you, she stayed.:(

I mean it's hard to say. I know there is still more evidence. We have more days of prelim PLUS whatever they are holding. I just thought there would be more at this point, a smoking gun, if you will.

I have a hard time believing a jury in a town like Salida would convict solely on electronic evidence. In a bigger city, maybe but I don't know. That's still "new" technology.
I don't know about that. Small towns rely on technology just as much as many other towns do.

My uncles dairy farm ran on technology. His kids were better with computers than mine were and we were from Silicon Valley.

I also wonder if all the other high profile murder trials in CO these past few years influenced this LE team? Lots of winners i.e. convictions - can’t imagine they would want to be the first losers ?
Agent Grusing was a key component of Frazee case and Redwine case. So I have a lot of confidence still that they will have the goods during the trial. JMO

Himself, his reputation, his family and job. It would have been ruined either way, whether he’d come out or not. But I think that had he come out and been cleared at the very beginning, or managed to stay undercover, the case against BM would have been stronger. Had he come out immediately, the case would have had another spin, had he never come out, many would have had their idealized version of Suzanne. Yesterday, it became a shocking discovery. And in this, there is some moral guilt of JL, although I still believe that many a man would be scared of such a street bully and lout as BM.
Two words: Nicole Kessinger. Look at what happened to her because she was associated with a high profile case. I can see how this might have been terrifying to someone who was married with six kids.

I am not excusing what he did in any way, but I think that he was trying to do the best thing under the circumstances with regard to the practicalities of HIS own life. Would you rather have this earth shattering news come out in one week, or have 6 months to maybe save up money, make sure you have several job prospects, maybe train yourself for something else, prepare your family for it, etc, without the media scrutiny. Maybe he had a kid that was starting college and needed money. Or maybe he has a special needs kid who needed insurance or therapy. Maybe he wanted to keep working at his job so that he could save up an emergency fund in case he was fired. I don't know what his profession is or if he did any of these things, but it's a possibility. I'm sure he knew that it would all come out, so he tried to put off the inevitable and make it not quite so devastating to his career and finances. When you have six kids to support, you think about this kind of stuff even if it's not what most people would consider "right." Why should your children suffer for something you did? Imagine the bullying they might get or how it might make them depressed and derail their school careers. If he knew that he was not guilty of anything, and he thought that he had nothing substantial to contribute to the case, I understand why he might have waited. I'm not saying it's right, but at the same time, I can come up with a lot of reasons why he probably did what he did.

There should be moral guilt with this JL guy he has a wife and six children and I’m sure some of them are young. I feel bad for them too. Poor Suzanne like so many abused women probably wasn’t thinking clearly, weak and fragile just looking for someone to give her enough strength to leave. I think if JL really cared about Suzanne he should have known better and ended it instead of putting her in harms way as he did. I think he knew Barry was capable of hurting Suzanne but thought of only himself having affections of a sweet beautiful woman. Its hard enough when your having marital problems then add to the fire. I would have been scared to death having a affair with a big hunter husband who kills innocent animals and a spousal abuser, mainly mental abuse which can be worse Suzanne was gambling with her life knowing scary hubby could catch them. These things never end well. I think JL is a coward. He was never going to leave his wife and six kids for Suzanne. He even said that in his last text his gang was his home. I hope Suzanne is alive somewhere but my heart says differently. Can’t believe he wasn’t man enough to come forward. What a whimp.

So I was so engrossed in this case, I didnt realise that this testimony happened yesterday:

Thank you :) Being in Colorado, I become obsessed with these cases. A woman's intuition is a powerful thing. Once you get suspicious, get your proof and leave. BM reminds me so much of my ex. Except the murderous part. I bet he came home and spied on her while she was texting her lover. He grabbed her phone to see what she was up to, then it got out of control. And remember little Bella Watts singing about her dad is her hero? Kind of like Mallory Morphew calling her own psycopath dad a hero. Posing with the mutilated bear. That, to me, is a huge character flaw. The ability to take the life of a beautiful animal.

You’ve got me thinking about guns. The complaint says that between May 9 and March 4, Barry illegally possessed a “short rifle.”
We’ve heard of 3 searches of the house now (May, June, July), but have yet to hear about how that rifle was discovered in March of this year.
That should be interesting. What the hell happened in March?

@MassGuy re bbm.
Events in March? IDK, but could the PP home sale closing factor in somehow?

The defense might try to explain away BM’s five or six Broomfield trash stops precisely due to having this residential dumpster.

They could say BM loaded up his truck with household trash, thinking he would drop it in on his way out of town, but then forgot. Thus he was reduced to incrementally and surreptitiously disposing his household trash at various places because one can’t just pull up to a business’s private dumpster and start tossing in a boatload of Hefty bags.

I literally have done this myself.
But investigators said when BM returned to town, his truck was a mess and full of trash, in the bed and inside.
So why didn't he throw all the trash away?

I am assuming that he didn't want to throw any thing that could identify him, away with anything incriminating. So he left all of his personal trash in his truck I guess.

Why did he get rid of his hiking boots and not the laces?
Do we know he didn't get rid of the laces too? Or even got rid of the boots?

Why not leave them in the truck if he's going to dump them?

He's wearing hiking boots when he next leaves the room. Did he take two pairs of hiking boots in with him?

At this point, he enters a hotel room wearing a long sleeve shirt. He comes out of his room an hour later wearing a short sleeve shirt. The prosecution said the fact that he changed in noteworthy. He's also carrying a bag when leaves the room.

#Barrymorphew has something in his hand. Something small, Agent Grusing couldn't decide what it was. His next action is carrying multiple items to his room. Hiking boots, a teal-covered piece of clothing, a darker black piece of clothing, and a light blue bag.

#BarryMorphew stayed in his room for an hour, he is not wearing a long sleeve shirt. He is now wearing a black v-neck shirt, a trash bag, hiking boots.

Respectfully, I think that may be assuming a lot about JL. We have no idea what his marriage is/was like.
Why is a guy expected to be less 'wimpy' than a woman?
There are a lot of marriages where the woman is extremely dominant.

There are way too many double standards these days. imo
Double standards work both ways.

Suzanne was 'abused, not thinking clearly, weak and fragile'.
How do we know that the same does not apply to JL?

Perhaps if Suzanne really cared about JL, she should have ended it. He has 6 children to raise.
It appears to me that JL and Suzanne were strong together. Their strength when apart, when not bolstering each other, might have been a different story, for both of them.

I just don't like to see anyone judged harshly when we know absolutely nothing about them. It makes it sound, to me, as if everybody else was wrong, and Suzanne was always right. She was human. No doubt as a human being she made mistakes. As, apparently, did JL.
