Well General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, all I have is this to say.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck

I’m thinking it may be time to consider opening up a
“CONSPIRACY THEORY” thread!

I’m pretty sure we’ve seen WHO definition of “pandemic” on this thread multiple times in the past couple of weeks. When the category can no longer be denied.... just remove it!!! How convenient....

The opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is still five months away (July 24), and officials insist the Games will go on as planned, despite the global coronavirus panic.

But the deadly and still-mysterious infection caused by the virus has already begun to affect preparations for the Summer Games. Movement of athletes has been limited, qualifying events have been disrupted, and plans to train tens of thousands of volunteers have been postponed.

Last week, participation in the Tokyo Marathon was restricted to only elite athletes, limiting the field to about 200.

Next month, the Olympic torch is set to begin a four-month relay though Japan. Roughly 10,000 torchbearers are expected to carry the torch through all 47 of Japan’s prefectures.

(CNN) — In yet another blow to the troubled cruise industry, US travelers are being urged to steer clear of Asia's waters.
On Monday, the State Department advised cruise ship travelers to or within Asia to reconsider their trips, saying in a statement on its website, "This is a dynamic situation and US citizens traveling by ship may be impacted by travel restrictions affecting their itineraries or ability to disembark, or may be subject to quarantine procedures implemented by the local authorities.

Moreover, the State Department warned that repatriation flights organized by the US government "should not be relied upon as an option for US citizens under the potential risk of quarantine by local authorities."

I’m living in a city in Friuli Venezia Giulia. They have shut down all activities, schools, religious and movie theaters. Fun activity And Sports till Monday. I'm worried it might be longer if more people get affected. My city seems normal except with no tourist. Parents are very all over the place. We had been traveling last week and arrived in Venice Saturday evening. It really is a uncomfortable feeling when it's in your back yard. Thanks for all the updates.
@keeponsearching I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I'm sure this is a scary situation for you and your family. Do you have enough supplies at home in the event your local markets get low on goods?

Well this has popped up again..
Did coronavirus outbreak begin from infectious disease lab in Wuhan?
February 24, 2020
''A specialist infectious disease laboratory located in the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak in China may in fact be ground zero for the disease.

China’s only Level 4 microbiology lab is facing increasing scrutiny after the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology released a new directive titled “Instructions on strengthening biosecurity management in microbiology labs that handle advanced viruses like the novel coronavirus.”

“It sure sounds like China has a problem keeping dangerous pathogens in test tubes where they belong, doesn’t it?” argues Steven W. Mosher, president of Virginia-based Population Research Institute, in the New York Post.

The National Biosafety Laboratory, located in the Wuhan Institute of Virology, is the only lab equipped to handle deadly coronaviruses. And Wuhan is at the centre of the outbreak, with nearly 77,000 people infected and more than 2,500 deaths in China.''

WAIT FOR IT, omg! rbbm.
“The virus may have been carried out of the lab by an infected worker or crossed over into humans when they unknowingly dined on a lab animal,” Mosher writes.
Oh wow. No words for that one.
