Just found out that the person in my county that has been confirmed with the virus, lives on my street.
I'm on a Disney World annual passholders FB group and you WOULD NOT BELIEVE the number of people making last minute trips to Disney because they are closing tomorrow!! I'm talking people getting cheap flights and flying down...posting pics from the plane and everything! One family posted that they are driving down from Birmingham! What the actual heck is wrong with people?!?! It's not closing permanently! As of now it's only for 2 weeks! Get a grip!

People will do almost anything if they think they are getting a bargain. So they get the cheap flight, maybe discounted tickets and hey they are happy!! I am with you, get a grip.

A friend gave us all a house plant last week, to keep our air clean at home. It was a great idea, never thought about my home air.
Which ones did you get? I literally was googling this earlier. I was thinking Pothos just because I kill everything green thing I've ever touched and this one looked a bit more durable than some. Another was the snake plant but I wasn't sure I liked the look of it. I have a black thumb. LOL

ADVICE FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH FROM WHO

"Minimize watching, reading or listening to news that causes you to feel anxious or distressed; seek information only from trusted sources and mainly to take practical steps to prepare your plans and protect yourself and loved ones. Seek information updates at specific times during the day, once or twice. The sudden and near-constant stream of news reports about an outbreak can cause anyone to feel worried"

don't read things that give you stress?
If we all did this, Websleuths would shut down.

Governor Andy Beshear

We had our afternoon update. 16 cases now & one patient is near death but has preexisting conditions.

One good thing, if a person in KY tests positive & are told to “isolate” at home until they are negative, they can be “policed” if necessary, to ensure they remain in their home.
FYI one positive KY patient had to be “forced” into quarantine!

People in Britain aged over 70 will be instructed soon by the government to stay in strict isolation for four months as part of a planned response to coronavirus, broadcaster ITV's political editor said.

Robert Peston said the government was likely to enforce a "wartime-style" mobilisation effort in the next five to 20 days.

Over 70s to be told to self-isolate for months even if they don't have Covid-19

Other measures being planned included the forced requisitioning of hotels and other buildings as temporary hospitals and the requisitioning of private hospitals, he said.

Oh, my Dad is going to love that (sarcasm). He’s such a social being - 83 years old and out and about nearly every day of the week. Still, whatever it takes to keep him safe. I’m sure you’ll feel the same about your own parents, @gregjrichards

Had a friend that got lucky at Walmart, ordered and picked up a couple disinfectants and handsoap refills and cottonelle wipes at the order online to pick up app. She was thrilled they still had some petfood items. Might try that . Best to you and your family and community. Be Well
So is Target (online--to be shipped). Also out of Clorox wipes and Pinesol. Amazon also didn't have Swiffer Wet Pads. I'm almost out. I know, I know...but it's so much easier than a mop IMO.

The kids might not get to eat if this doesn't happen.

I've seen mention of using our district buses to deliver lunches to students if we close. It's a small district so really would be doable. I work at the high school so if we close I may be facing a bit of a financial dilemma (as many many others).... But I'm also a bus driver and would be the first to step up to help our kids!

I said the same yesterday. My advanced RN friend, with a most prestigious position wanted me to drive to casino with her. When I caught my breath and mentioned Covid, she said “its just a virus.” Smh

The worst with mine is that her father is at risk with age, a chronic illness, and a recent surgery that put him in ICU with complications. He works with the public six days a week. I know that it's not even crossed her mind that he's at risk. All I can do is pray, and plan on being there for her when whatever's coming, gets here.
