Which of the several courts FD visits should/could ask the question you put forth so well
@oceancalling ?
Where are the IRS and the State of CT revenue folks? How long can people go without paying taxes? How many extensions can one file? If one files an extension without paying the tax due, does that prevent one from violating tax laws? I'm incredulous!!
I struggle greatly to understand the Family Court process in the Dulos case and whether that Court and its 3 Judges did in fact follow and consistently apply the laws of the State of CT and the orders of the Court in the case? Did the Judges do what they were charged to do and ditto for all the attorneys and experts involved? The DV advocates in CT that have looked at the case have their doubts and I'm inclined to believe them.
Judge Heller was aware that Fd hadn't filed taxes in 2 years and she was aware of the fact that the FORE valuation was a fiction /farce and yet nothing changed. Jfd and GF supported JFd and the 5 children and did so for the duration of the divorce action.
We have now seen in AW3 the various police reports that were submitted by JFd and we have heard testimony from LA about a few of the incidences that were reported. We saw that the Fd report filed (in advance of his infamous zero affect 911 call) was to accuse JFd of taking various personal property from 4Js. Oddly enough in that report he never mentioned his children as he was more concerned it appears with the 'stuff taken'.
Did the Courts hear and review all of these JFd police reports? Why did no one seem to hear and respond to JFd pleas about her personal safety? Her language in Court testimony was quite clear as was her statement about her husband seeking revenge for her leaving. Sadly, no Judge took action on any of the pleas of JFd and so she remained fearful, probably depressed and anxious as well and most likely despondent periodically about her overall personal safety situation. The DV cycle was allowed to continue as it appears Fd then critiqued JFd for possibly seeking professional assistance to deal with the overall situation and seek support. All this was reported to the Court but yet nothing really changed and the case chugged on and on and on.
We heard the LA testimony about the panic that resulted from Fd showing up at Welles for his 'picnic with the children' 1/2 hr early 2 days before JFd was allegedly murdered in her garage by Fd. We heard about LA putting out the food and then being with JFd behind a locked door and how Fd was not allowed inside the house. Doesn't sound like behaviour of folks that were comfortable with the situation of Fd being present IMO. IMO this LA testimony was chilling but its also quite typical to hear similar stories from DV victims that fear their spouse. I'm also not sure we know at what time the court supervisor showed up and was Fd left unsupervised at Welles for 1/2 hr.
Those quotes from one of the early Judge's in the case who essentially chastised both JFd and Fd and said that as well educated people they need to figure out a way forward, or some such wishful thinking from a Judge who I'm not sure really understands the nature and horror of living with DV, still haunt me as they simply seem naive and ignorant as to what JFd faced in managing her life and those of her children with Fd. But, what are the chances of having 3 such Judges who don't seem to understand DV on a single case? Its actually quite stunning IMO while being absolutely tragic as the situation in Court didn't seem to help the victim, JFd or sadly her 5 children.
I just think about how Fd was able to evade any financial responsibility for his 5 children for nearly 2 years in Family Court, in great part because his disclosure didn't meet court standards and no consequences were imposed but also because he outright chose to not comply for periods of time as well. But the lack of urgency in resolving the Fd financial contribution to the children was made easy for the Court because JFd had means and the support of her mother. But, few women have such financial means and I do very much believe the Court took the easy way out and put the burden of support on JFd because it was easier to do so rather than get Fd to comply with anything asked of him.
I guess I wonder what might have happened if there was no Farber money as the Dulos divorce unfolded? Where would JFd have lived, where would the children have gone to school, clearly no extra activities would be possible, no nanny would be possible and we don't even know if a car to fit all 5 children would have been financially feasible? Would we have seen the $300,000/yr paid to GAL Michael (Maserti) Meehan and the parade of experts? Might we have seen quick intervention by CPS to protect the children who were emotionally challenged during this period and might we have seen Fd incarcerated for his game to delay providing financial information to the Court to support his children?
IDK, its all speculation but the fact is that Fd was allowed to go on for 2 years by 3 Judges to not pay a dime for his children's support and JFd lived in fear every day after she left 4Jx.
